I believe that with squad we have, we should start playing with 3 in the back line. 3421 would bring us domination in a midfield.

Maybe against certain teams and at home but probably not every match. I thought we did a good job of controlling the match/ midfield after the 1st 25 minutes. Also want to say that I've enjoyed our style of play with success under our last 2 interim managers but last time we then hired a manager who doesn't favour that style of play, I hope we don't make that same mistake again.

Do you think the club will regret not giving Loftus-Cheek a regular run out this season?

He is not gaining experience to improve him as a player, not playing also holds down his value for a transfer. Sitting on the bench does nothing for anyone.

{Ed018's Note - absolutely. In a season where all of the center mids have struggled at times it was a perfect opportunity for RLC to get a chance.}

Im not a fan of our system of loaning so many players out but when you look at the contrasts in the development of RLC compared to Baker at Vittese you have to say that RLC's season, or lack of it, has been a problem.

Come the summer both players could be contesting for a squad place and, at the moment, Baker looks the better player. RLC may need a loan.

Our loan system is a great revenue stream but so far it hasn't been great when it comes to producing players for the first team.
I do think that RLC might need to be loaned out at the end of the season if he doesn't feature significantly in the rest of our PL games but I think it'll be Pasalic that will be introduced into the squad over Baker.

Definitely agree, Ed018. It's a shame, as certain games we could surely use his combination of size and technique. I hope the next manager gives him a serious look. Still waiting for that RLC-Mikel-Fabregas midfield 3, with RLC in a box to box role. His runs through midfield are great when he gets a chance.

You have to give a credit to vGaal he played 5 or 6 youngsters during EL very important game.
Personally I wouldn't start RLC but I would give him 30 minutes in every game, the same goes for Traore and Kennedy.

I think it's concerning that both managers play Fabregas deeper in the midfield than RLC considering he projects as a box to box man. When he's out on the pitch, he's not running around the field aimlessly but at the same time he's not finding himself in the right positions defensively.

Lol, When has RLC ever impressed when he has played this season? If he can't perform when he does get on the pitch, why should he start? He needs a season away to impress. If he does - keep him, if not - sell him. He'll be another Josh McEachran.

Not when everyone on here is praising him as he next big thing. Maybe he is and I hope he is, but just saying he hasn't shown much when he's played. He laboured against Mk Dons. When really that's a game when he should have said I'm going to chase all day and give Guus something to think about, but he didn't. Sorry but you have to go an extra mile as a youngster at any club. And at the moment he's not. I don't hate the lad, but just feel he could be the next McEachran mate. We built him up and up and up and never realised his full potential and also with a lack of attitude, was never going to cut it. Hope I'm very wrong about RLC and if I am, I'd happily eat humble pie!

There's a reason Van Gaal has had to use so many youngsters. United's monstrous injury list.

I wouldn't praise him about it too much!

Being forced into something and choosing to do something are very different things.

In general a club will always try to field what it sees as it's strongest side. Winning is very important after all. It's all well and good discussing including younger players but at the end of the day the manager is held accountable for the performance of the team.

Very large risk for what is often a very small reward.
