Still interested in modric?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Why would he go? if they're bloody ahead of us then all we can do is hope he is a scummy mercenary and forces through a move for wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

Redknapp won't stay, we maybe 4th but thats with a make shift team. we will be fighting for the EPL next season. spurs never will be that good.

Just went and had a dislike parade on every Arsenal rumour and saw something funny.
One of the fans thinks they will sell Arshavin for £15.5 million, Squillaci for £6 million and Almunia for £4 million.
They'd be lucky to get £5 million for them combined!

In january we desperately need a creative midfield. Rb and cb also needed. If pato available we need to sign him..

ED the team for after jan
************Cech***************
ivanovic****Luiz******Cahill****cole
*************romeu**************
******DeBruyne*********ramires****
Sturridge*******Torres*******mata**

SUBS
kakuta
McEachran
Lampard
Terry
Mereles
Essien
Do you think this is possible with de bruyne and cahill coming in
thanks, {Ed002's Note - I am afraid that I don't do "teams" or fantasy football.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Would prefer to swap de Bruyne and Mata. Also thin ramires should drop back a bit to where Romeu is but with allowance to get forward frequently.

Agree1 Disagree0

Meireles is not a squad player he was not bought as back up and essien would start he is arguably the best holding midfielder in the league and de buyne would never start in the premier league he would either go on loan or be an impact sub for the start of his chelsea career!

Agree1 Disagree1

De bruyne is more like Lukaku a class player for the future and he is not ready to push into the starting XI.

AVB has suprised me in one of his most recent interviews where he said that Cahill would be our only signing in january. Does he not realize he needs replacements for Anelka, Lampard, Drogba etc. His lack of acknowledgement regarding this matters need to be rectified, and a full explanation is due to outline exactly what he plans to do at our club. {Ed002's Note - When he first joined I did tell you to ignore everything he says in interviews.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Ye but ed even in pre season he stood to his word and never brought in replacements for the aforementioned player's. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are not going to sign players for the sake of it and January is not teh best time to look for players. The club have lost out on one target to Napoli and will stick to their plans over others. If you want to believe everything said in interviews the feel free, but please don't expect me to rationalise them for you.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I don't expect you to ed, im just after some kind of insight into what exactly Chelsea's plans are regarding transfers. I don't see any kind of effort being made by the club to bring in fresh faces to replace our ageing players thats all, nor has Andre come out and bothered to give the fans any kind of reassurance that he is aware of the situation at the club and is working on it. {Ed002's Note - The transfer window is closed - hence no arrivals since the summer. Lucas has arrived though and there will no doubt be a couple or so in January. Enormous amounts of effort were made in South America over the last couple of months and enquiries made for the likes of Goetze. Not sure what you are expecting AVB to say - I did warn you about him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What can AVB say, its obvious we need to have a shake up and he is doing that, i am sure we will say goodbye and welcome several players to the bridge in January, we need to give the man some time (and new players) and im sure we will be back up there with the big boys.

Agree0 Disagree1

I share your frustration. I do not understand this interview business and yes you are right he did in the summer what he said in the interviews so it is fair to say we can believe what he says. The sistuation is very simple. If we don't want any trophies this year then fine ride it with the same team till the summer. But if they expect to win trophies with the current team they are not up to the job and they need to change their line of work. Maybe politics would suit them.

We need to keep faith in AVB, he has a team that needs
Freshening up. Same as ancelotti. He done what he could with ageing squad, in January we should get one or two players then in summer get few more in. I would like the obvious players.hulk Hazard cavarni hamsik modric goetze moutinho few other just 2 players of them I would be more than pleased.

Lucas piazon is available soon and has impressed further reserves. Will he play or go out on loan? {Ed002's Note - I doubt you will see him in the first team until next season, possibly after a short pre-Christmas loan.}

When AVB took over at Porto he had a team built for, and ready for, success. The other big clubs in Portugal, Sporting & Benfica, had sold their top players whereas Porto had held onto the likes of Falcao and Hulk; adding Moutinho to the mix too. Domestic success came very easy, it was Europa League success that put AVB on the map!

Chelsea took a gamble on a young manager who could add fresh ideas to a team in decline, AVB came with his multi-year plan; Chelsea owe it to themselves to allow AVB to see it out!

AVB came into a completly different situation to the one at Porto, when he arrived at Chelsea. The stars of yesteryear were the wrong side of thirty, the squad was no longer built for success; be it domestic or continental. The other title contenders, Man Utd & Man City, had strengthened whilst we had remained stale. Previous managers considered the introduction of youth at Chelsea as giving Josh McEachran 20mins here and there; although the talented McEachran hasn't had his chance AVB has introduced young quality players. Sturridge, Mata and Romeu have all shined this season, the aforementioned McEachran along with Ryan Bertrand and Lukaku all seem to be in the managers mind. These are the signs of AVB's new team starting to take hold, we aren't going to win the title this year; I personally never beleived we would from the outset and don't believe we'll win it next season! What I do believe we'll all see at the start of next season, for the first time since Mourinho left the club, is a fresh, young, new look squad with a new style and culture; that's progression!

AVB needs time, in which he'll prove all his doubters wrong!!

Just saw match of the day and there was nothing wrong with Torres's performance all he needs is a run in the team.
