Why play forward when you can play sideways or backwards? Why play 1 pass when you can play 10? Why get 3 or 4 players in the opposing box when you can have 1? Why play a right-back at left-back when you can play Ivanovic there? Why play a player who can defend next to Matic when you can play Fabregas there? Answers on a postcard please Mr Mourinho!

You act as if these players are easily replaced, who do we have instead of Ivanovic and Fabregas?

Baba Rahmann yes, and has he been good?

Mikel, Ramires and RLC, none of whom are as good as fabregas. We would give RLC a run of 10 games, and if he played bad, you guys would slate him saying we need results and RLC to be eased in

He can't win. And we don't deserve him.

27 Sep 2015 05:20:41
I wouldn't let her stress you, Hazard. In the last two weeks Mrs Costa has gone from - Jose tactics are outdated, to we will be top of the league come January, to this. Pretty sure she hasn't any idea how she actually feels and will continue to post depending on the results every week.

Agree1 Disagree2

27 Sep 2015 10:41:55
Not sure about outdated tactics, the question is 'what tactics'? And what is the point of paying big money for Rahman and not playing him (while Ivanovic has been awful)? Every time RLC and Kenedy have played they have been impressive - they are young and may not be up to being starters but, with the way we've been playing, why not give them a chance? The point about Fabregas was not that he shouldn't play but that he is not a defensive midfielder and is most effective further up the pitch. How can a team perform so well last weekend and be so awful yesterday? We created nothing, we defended too deep, we were tortoise-like in our build-up, and most importantly we were out-fought - so if it's not the manager's fault tell me why? And if you two are happy with that performance yesterday you strike me as the sort of supporters who were happier when we were a yo-yo team - ahhh, the good old days eh?

27 Sep 2015 11:13:11
Ok precious, relax. Did you wake today? Had anyone died? No, then have some perspective in life.

I'm wasn't even arguing with you (I wasn't agreeing either) just pointing out you're view on the team changes game on game. Speaking of yo-yo's ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2015 11:16:15
It's not the fact I'm happy with the performance, it's the fact in willing to support the team in a time of need rather than whinge about it non stop, as if it's going to help.

Chelsea fans are spoilt. We won the league last year, so I'm willing to give the team a poor run, they'll get throug it

Agree1 Disagree2

27 Sep 2015 11:34:30
I feel what MR's costa trying to say. We lack desire when we play, the team looks like they don't have a leader and as I was mentioning last year. That the time we lose terry we will go backwards. Also not letting young lads play when they truly deserve it is sad!

Anyway ramires really suprised me a lot as he was outstanding yesterday and even could have grabbed us the winner

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 21:51:25
Matic has been out of form this season but I think that could really be solved by easily switching to a 4-3-3 and putting Ramires or Ruben one side of him to help him out. Then either Oscar or Cesc on the left of the three. I think a change of formation would really change our play back to somewhere near our best. Then have Pedro or Kenedy RW and Hazard LW. Hazard showed glimpses today but he's still nowhere near his best and we can't drop him because he's just capable of the spectacular. I'd really like to see a 4-3-3 against Southampton with Azpi/Baba full backs and either Ruben or Rami in the center to help Matic out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Sep 2015 23:05:35
I don't think Matic can be blamed when he is partnered by a player in Fabregas who can't defend.

26 Sep 2015 21:20:23
Rammy MOM and only played 17 minutes. Quality player. Willian the same. So many plastics wanting this new player and that new player and slating some of the players we have like the above and Mikel etc. Real Chelsea fans get behind the team, players, coaches et al all the time. Plastics support us now and someone else tomorrow. Get behind the team and REMEMBER this post probably doesn't apply to you but if it does think about it. Chelsea with passion and forever.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

26 Sep 2015 21:39:18
I find it weird how we're playing so poorly. We don't even need new players. The qualities are there they're just not finding it.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 22:25:28
Jkb just because some fans are not on and can honestly critique our team does not make them "plastic" fans. We have been dreadful this season and played pretty badly the whole of 2015. If you can't see that you may be a Chelsea fan but you are not a observant one. Just because some fans have the ability to see the bigger picture and not be blinkered it does not make them "plastic fans"!

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Sep 2015 08:18:47
JKB: Spearce96 is spot on. If you are a true supporter you will have an opinion, win, lose or draw, that is what supporters do. To blindly say 'I support them come what may' is actually being 'plastic', no thought, no opinion or observations. Even you cannot possibly think we are playing well and as Spearce96 said, with hand on heart we have not played that well all through 2015. Yesterday's first half WE looked like the team in serious trouble not Newcastle and we were saved by two players many criticise and do not score often. Something is not working and we all trust Mourinho to figure out what it is.

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Sep 2015 09:56:42
Seeing the 'bigger picture' and 'not being blinkered' is one thing, constantly slating players who the manager and club trust is something else. The amount of times I see posts slating current players and wanting a new here and a new one there beggars belief. As do the comments which imply our manager doesn't know what he is doing! As I said in my original post though REMEMBER this probably doesn't apply to you?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2015 13:33:36
JKB: That is why it's a banter page. All supporters know better and we all chip in with what we think is wrong, how it could be better and who we need or do not need. If we wrote in each match and said "bad result but I'm right behind them" it would be boring. Not a single subscriber has ever influenced Mourinho but has an opinion on what he 'could' be doing wrong or who is letting him down; me I find Ramires a waste of space, Remy leaves me cold, no patience anymore with Fabregas and Costa infuriates me but the next guy probably loves all of them but dislikes others and it is interesting to read. I agree for every decent comment there is half a dozen mind numbing ones.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2015 14:22:27
Your all bickering like women! Calm yourselfs . Porto away let's focus on that COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2015 14:29:52
Frensham: You put forward a good and intelligent reply and I agree that a 'Banter page' is the forum for just that, banter. What I don't like is when posters come on here disrespecting our players who give their best for the club. The abuse Mikel, Rammy and to a lesser extent Willian is wrong. I can think of only one player in our history who has genuinely not cared a toss and taken the money and that was Winston Bogarde years ago. If an argument is put forward for a player being replaced and sound reasons given that is interesting reading but to put things like (example) 'Mikel needs to go now', Ramiries is a waste of space etc etc is tiresome particuarly when they are giving everything they can.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2015 18:12:39
JCFC: That was a discussion. The way we are playing I really do not want to think of Porto who are likely to be somewhat better than Newcastle. If anyone has the 'Blues' at the moment it is us!

Just to add to your glass half full post, I once again fell head first into some free Krispy Kreme donuts.

Will post about the game tomorrow as I start work in 4hrs. You win some, you lose some, you erm draw some

Agree2 Disagree3

26 Sep 2015 19:30:44
We need terry back in place of cahill or zouma. Even thoug zouma is young mistakes like this shouldn't be done even at league 2.

Why we not playing RLC in midfield is beyond me, he would boss the game with matic. Fabregas has been really poor and should be droped (hazard is second after him).

What a spirit does ramires showed? I would live all the player to play like him!!

Really really sad as this result is a big letdown

Believable0 Unbelievable2

26 Sep 2015 19:52:33
We should character but little else. I think the issue is Ivanovic not Zouma, every one is entitled to a mistake bit Brana is all over the shop, defence, passing and don't ask him to cross the ball. I am baffled with Rahman, £20m+ for someone that might only play in European games! Fabregas is turning into a half season wonder and he must be under huge pressure. What is so disappointing is out total lack of attacking threat. We will get nowhere in Europe and will need to focus all our attention on a top four place at best otherwise it will impact any transfer dealings.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Sep 2015 19:17:42
I moan about Willian and he scores 😂 lucky though.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Sep 2015 13:58:48
Moan about more players ;-)
Seriously though, I'm pretty impressed by Willian's set piece taking so far this season. He's putting them in dangerous areas and as a result he's already got 2 goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 18:57:17
Do we need an interhim now?

Its not about Ivan - Matic - Fabregas already.

We have no attacking method and get caught easily by other teams. Newcastle is the worst team in the league and scored only 1 goals in the last 6 matches but we took that title from them tonight.

Why Mou didn't use Baba. He was blindly believe in Ivan and Ivan keep killing us.

Now all I want is a CL league for next year. Never lose belief in Mou until now.

26 Sep 2015 19:30:24
We need a miracle to get top 5

Agree1 Disagree3

26 Sep 2015 22:40:09
We will get top 4 I'm sure of it. Arsenal Manchester United Liverpool and even Man City are too inconsistent to pull away. We know what it takes to win a streak of games and I honestly believe we will sort it out and be strong after Christmas and probably but a run of wins together. KTBFFH

Daton

Newcastle fan in peace here.
Why do you think we are the worst team in the league??
We have good players, and have had a huge overhaul in players, coaching staff etc. we have also had a very hard opening period in the league.
After Man City we should as start getting to mid table by Xmas.
It would be great for the big teams like yourselves to praise the opposition when they achieve a good result against you/ them.
Anyway, you are a great side and Rameires saved the day , quality player.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Sep 2015 14:00:31
Toonlol, you're right. You've actually got some quality players in your side. I especially like Wijnaldum, he's a really good player. If your players perform consistently and show desire and heart on the pitch you should be fine this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 18:51:48
2-0 down. Need a goal and we bring on Willian instead of Kenedy. This isn't good enough. Love Jose but he's not making the changes to the starting XI that he should. Baba and Loftus-Cheek should be starting.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Sep 2015 18:57:59
90% of the possession in the second half and they score and people disagree that we are sterile up front. Might be harsh but this is one of the poorest performances for many a season against a team that are just playing with passion but little else.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 19:08:54
He might do that once he feels we have nothing to play for but I think it comes down to trust and he trusts the out of form players who are more experienced.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 18:25:25
Get Kenedy on and play two up front!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Sep 2015 18:21:34
What a disgraceful performance. Ivanovic to blame for goal he can see it happening in front of him and does nothing. Get him off
Trouble is like early games he hasn't got enough subs to take off those who have been crap.
Liven up or lose again

Believable0 Unbelievable3

26 Sep 2015 18:28:58
Blinkers on mate. Zouma was completely at fault. Maybe Ivan didn't talk to him, but even so that was a serious lack of judgement. Kid is still learning but my god that was poor.

Bourbon time!

26 Sep 2015 19:00:33
Zouma is really really poor this whole game!

Agree0 Disagree3

26 Sep 2015 18:19:07
Absolutely sterile up front, a long season ahead. You would not believe we were reigning champions, just so ordinary.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

26 Sep 2015 18:13:59
Not winning the midfield battle again. Loftus-Cheek or Ramires should be starting there perhaps instead of Fabregas who is two slow. Hazard no impact again, maybe Kenedy should come on for him.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

26 Sep 2015 18:08:44
Get the bourbon out, Melbourne. I might have to pull out the scotch as well.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

26 Sep 2015 18:07:25
We turn up we win, well that is clearly what thy thought, absolute rubbish.
No tackles second best.ivanovic back to his worst again.
They need to get heads out of backsides. Midfield awful slow, no pace to passing. Remy is not good enough.
Atkinson has given us nothing, but we have earns nothing.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

26 Sep 2015 18:22:59
Can't really blame Remy he's had no service apart from a tough chance. Midfield is where it's lost they keep getting in behind when Cesc and Matic are too slow too get back. Ramires needs to come on. Would have Loved to have seen Ruben and Kenedy start at least they're hungry to win unlike these lot.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 17:09:23
No Ruben even on the bench! Disappointed to say the least. Hope he gets some minutes vs porto

Believable1 Unbelievable0

26 Sep 2015 17:15:28
Agree with you. Everything he's played he's impressed. I'd prefer him there over Willian. Willian's only decent when we're defending he can't attack at all. And no Baba again either. Decent team but unhappy with the bench.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 17:24:10
Rlc is probably better defensively than Willian and his passing is pinpoint accurate. I feel sorry for the kid because he continues to play well and not get picked in the league. And as much as I hope he does play, I doubt he'll get minutes against porto

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Sep 2015 16:40:34
No Rahman again even as a sub? Injured?
Remy we were prepared to let go but take on Falcao for a fortune and cannot give him a two or three game run out for 90 minutes.
Should win but I do not like the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

26 Sep 2015 17:06:55
I have no problem with the team. We need a win and Jose knows that. We have experience in the side, which we will need, as we usually put up a suspect performance at St James' Park. Remy knows the opposition and Falcao had his chance in midweek and didn't do enough to justify a spot.

I'm just glad I've managed to knock off work before 2am and am able to knock back a few and watch the boys play!

Mourinho mentioned in the week that Rahman was (currently) more naturally suited to European games and cup games rather than the PL. I'm sure this will change as we go through the season.
