This weekends result really wasn't incredibly concerning if you look at it separately from the rest of the season. We had Zouma's goal ruled out that was closer than anything I've ever seen via goal line technology and this resulted in matic's 1st yellow. Fabregas' goal was ruled offside and I still can't tell whether he was on or off.

Matic's second yellow was an absolutely stupid play on his part and deserved a yellow. Going into halftime with the way results were going, being 1-0 down, and down a man I was scared about what might happen in the second half. With that said we came out and really controlled the tempo and brought the game level. The Carroll goal was unfortunate for the spirit showed by the team in the second half.

Now if you would've told me all of this would've gone against us on the road against west ham who are playing really good football at the moment it wasn't an awful performance. However I will say that even though I think the thought of sacking mourinho is clueless, he really needs to gain some composure with his current image.

Silvinho losing the plot, personally getting dismissed for blowing up on moss, and not doing the press conference all will result in even poorer treatment from the refs and the FA. The results are poor but we're making it worse with our behavior.

We certainly weren't bad. They created almost nothing and had to rely on 2 really bad clearances from us to score their goals. There were a lot of decisions that could've gone either way, but they went against us on Saturday. Let's bounce back tonight at Stoke :-)

Well put t. k., sums up my thoughts anyway. Had hoped we would bring in Griezmann in particular in summer not only because he would have been a great addition in himself but such an addition would probably have galvanised others. JM must surely be given to end of this season at least to sort things out unless there is some internal crisis in club I'm not aware of (do the eds know anything? )

I would totally support Mourinho staying from a football standpoint but it is his behaviour that makes me think he should go. He makes our club a soap opera laughing stock. He should be forced to wear a gag for the rest of the season.

I hear what you're saying Mrs Costa and I do think that public opinion is somewhat relevant. You don't want to be the team that everyone hates, but with that said even when we had Carlo around people were always looking for reasons to tear the club down. For the moment Jose is giving that to him but I'm incredibly certain that when we start performing better the circus off the field will go away.

Considering forming a search party to locate Djilobodji have not herd his name mentioned since the day he signed? Any idea what's going on with him lads?

Jose mentioned in signing him that he would largely be a depth option. He wasn't included in the champions league roster and our league form hasn't been to the level where we can think about rotating players to get them game time. Far more concerning for me is that Rahman can't seem to get a game with Zouma being played as a fullback and looked completely out of sorts.

He's only marginally more anonymous than Rahman who we paid £20m+ for!

All this will depend on where we are in January and when we finish next season but if you could who would you have as 3 new signings.

Firstly we need a quality young centre back. For me as he's now the clear target it would be Marquinhos. Whether he would partner Zouma or Cahill next season I don't know. I can't see Terry starting as of next season. Ivanovic's contract should not be renewed IMO. Move Azpilicueta permanently back to RB and give Rahman a run at LB. I'd bring Kalas back as cover for Azpi and use Djilobodji as cover for Baba because he played LB a lot.

Secondly CM. If Fabregas doesn't start getting better soon is there any point in keeping him when we could get a big fee for him and then sign someone younger who's quicker and good defensively. Personally I'd go for Gundogan. He's got a fantastic engine and is one of the best at moving the ball forward quickly. And not to mention he's really quick also something which Cesc isn't. We definately need to switch to a 4-3-3 with Matic central and two players either side of him who can defend and pass. If play RLC one side because he would flourish in a 4-3-3 I think.

As for our front three we definately need another goal scorer because even when in form Hazard is far from clinical he does seem to rely a lot on penalties. Griezmann would be perfect on one wing and Hazadd on the other.

I think we need to compact our midfield more, forget this pressing game and give our front three freedom to rain the goals in. The only way for us to get back into form I think is to attack. When we're playing defensive were still conceding stupid goals. For now I'd go with Remy, Costa and Hazard up front. Stick Rubrn, Matic and Oscar deeper people who are actually quite quick and know how to defend.

Cheers anyway guys let us know your 3 signings which would improve us.

3 signings I'd like: Stones/Marquinhos/Laporte/Varane (basically any really good cb who isn't over 30), a CM (e. g. Gomes/Koke/Geis/Gundogan/Xhaka/. there are numerous CMs that would improve us) and then a goal scoring forward/winger (Griezmann is a player I like a lot so he'd be a very good option I think, but there are others as well) .
So to me there are a lot of options, but it's those 3 positions I'd like to see strengthened.

Never seen Geis Jackson from what I've heard he's a tough tackling defensive midfielder. Apparently he's just received a five game ban for a poor challenge.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has no interest in Geis.}

I think it starts with a centremid. Cesc isn't capable of playing deep in the midfield with his lack of pace and defensive acumen, Ramires is a solid backup but we need better, and Ruben isn't ready in Jose's eyes and that's all that matters. I would prefer a box to box guy who is also very physical, obviously pogba would be the dream but Andre Gomes is very similar to that mould.

Next is an attacking winger for the right side, and I will say that Willian has been our best player this season by some distance but we need another guy whose capable of winning games on his own. Really the only 2 I see capable of this are Greizzman and Reus.
From there it's really a crapshoot as no other positions are costing us games at the moment. It really comes down to individual players that are capable of providing something we don't currently possess and this could be at any position.
