SQUAD DEPTH-chelsea & united
GK-CHELSEA- cech, turnbull, hilario, blackman. (4)
UNITED- De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Johnstone. (4)

DEF-CHELSEA- azpilicueta, ivanovic, cahill, terry, luiz, ake, cole, bertrand, ferreira. (9)
UNITED-Da Silva, Evra, Jones, Ferdinand, Evans, Smalling, Vidic, Buttner, Vermijl. (9)

MID-CHELSEA- lamps, ramires, mikel, romeu, (luiz, oscar) (6)ATTACKERS- mata, hazard, oscar, moses, marin. piazon.(6)
UNITED- Scholes, Cleverley, Fletcher, Powell, anderson, Carrick.(6) ATTACKERS- young, giggs, valencia, kagawa, nani. (5)

ST-CHELSEA- torres, ba. (2)
UNITED- rooney, vanpersie, chicarito, welbeck. (4)

we have the same goalkeepers & defenders. same MIDS if luiz & oscar played where they would florish, if not could of kept essien here. 6 to their 5 attacking options, I would take any of ours over theirs. only place we lack is strikers. so players being tired is a poor excuse of bad management, by who ever make the decisions. gotta show faith to the lesser known/favourtised players.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I understand your point but there are names in there for both teams from the youth and reserves that you have named in the list, but if you are to name piazon and Vermijl and Blackman and Johnstone, who clearly aren't first team players by any stretch of the imagination then why can't you name feruz and Bamford in our list of strikers? I think the point would have been better made if you would have put players who actually are involved in the first team which would show we are considerably weaker in the striker department.

While everyone's been busy blaming Benitez I haven't seen to many people mentioning the poor position RDM left him in. RDM played the same 15 players 90% of the time while ferguson is the king of rotation.

Yes, sure. RDM had 10 forwards to rotate with Torres, of course.

If Rafa didn't rotate our team every week and played our best team most games then we'd win more matches!

Not saying that but you can't argue he rarely rotated.

whole january is going to pass and rafa benitez has now realized that chelsea squad is not large enough. he pointed out that we do not have ball winners & prople who can play long ariel passes to hitman upfront. he is probably right, but he must have told the board about these things bit earlier. I do not find te logic here that two of our highly earning players have been doing nothing since season began. florent malouda should have been utilized. and if essien is good enough to play for real madrid, then what is the problem playing for chelse

kings xi punjab chelsea brisbane roar.

Yes 100 percent right. Benitez is all in all a ****. if we win he says everything is fine when we lose the squads to small. he never takes the blame for his terrible substitutions or wrong tactics. I actually hate him. BLUEBOY1

Luke Shaw and Mohamed Diame would be smart investment by the club. One is the best young leftie in UK and the other is a an amazing value at 3, 5 million. PL experience, huge frame, good shot, an upgrade over Mikel.

My ideal Chelsea squad for next season:

Manager: Jose Mourinho, Assistant manager: Paulo Ferreira

GK: Cech, Courtois, Blackman
RB: Azpiliqueta, Kalas, Wallace
LB: Cole, Bertrand
CB: Cahill, Ivanovic, Terry. Ideally, i'd like us to go all out and get Hummels. If not, we'd be ok with Kalas and Luiz filling in if needed be.

CM: Luiz, Ramires, Romeu, Xabi Alonso. (Xabi is not extending with Real and wants to return to England. He's still the best at what he does. Would cost little and provide wirld class service for a couple of years at least). If it's not happening, then I guess, it must be Fellaini, of course (but for the Ramires money and nothing awkward like the rumoured 30 million).

Attackers: Hazard, Mata, Moses. De Bruyne, Oscar, a solid winger. I think we lack an industrious player in the mold of Valencia. There are certain games, where we need to shut down the wide threat and have noone to throw in there, other than Ramires. He's ok on the wing, but does not offer crossing or passing there. So I say Valancia or similar type player.

Forwards: Cavani, Lukaku, Ba, Schurrle. It may look too crowded, but it ain't. First of all Cavani plays on either side and the pole position. In certain formations can play as a left of 4-3-3, a second striker or an attacking midfielder in 4-2-3-1. Schurrle offers same positional value. Ba and Lukaku as center forwards, option off of the bench.

Season is long and at our size, with this type of squad and ambition we are in for a run of 65 games. It takes big squad to compete in all the games. We can't risk be shorthanded as we are right now, or face similar fate.

A lot of contracts are running out. It is also time to identify tjose who won't make it and sell them.

JG

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I haven't gone through the numbers, qualifications, nationality etc but I suspect that the suaq you suggest is several players more than we would be allowed.
In terms of keepers I very very much doubt that you are ever see Chec and Courtois is the same Chelsea squad.I just have this sneaky feeling that one of them, proabably Chec will be sold and in view of his age, experience & ability would command a decent fee

Agree3 Disagree3

Before you check all the details being squad size etc (which JG has got spot on) maybe do some research on how to spell on current keepers name.

Melbourne CFC

Agree3 Disagree3

Melborne

Ok I transposed two letters there was me thinking that we had got passed all this trying to be smart by pulling some one up because of spelling. You knew full well what I was saying so stop trying to be smart.

The point I was making is that in that 25 man squad are there 8 homegrown player? are there any players named under 21 (Blackman, Piazon) under 21 if so they don't need to be counted in the 25
Come on Melborne engage in debate stop trying to be superior.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sign your posts mate and I will happily join in on a debate with you. Whether or not I understood what you meant, the fact you spelt Cech wrong on more than one occasion, to me, says a lot about you as a supporter.

There wouldn't be 8 HG players in JG's squad, but rules stipulate nothing regarding HG players in EPL squads.

Rules stipulate that an EPL squad can only have 17 'foreign' or non English players.

JG's squad only has 14. The rest is English or under 21. Hence my earlier reply saying JG has got it spot on.

Didn't mean to come off as 'superior' no name, but maybe in future you can sign your posts and begin to add to the site. From using the site for many years, I can assure you the only thing that really gets on the regulars nerves is no name posters that offer nothing.

Melbourne CFC

Agree1 Disagree1

I'll be honest I just skip past Melbourne's posts now. Never agrees with anything anyone ever says, slags off new posters or unnamed posts. What is his problem? If you don't want to participate in banter/debates/opinions, then don't bother.

Chelsea Nick

Melbourne

The more you say the more you dig a hole for yourself
First I will to sign my name as Mickey Mouse my posting so it clearly have moe meaning to you!
Next what arrogance to suggest that you are more a supporter. I tell you what how about we have a discussion at Reading on Wednesday or Newcastle next Saturday or how about at SB gainst Wigan, Not going ? Well I am does that make me a better supporter than you? Of course not so don't make such stupid assumptions because I always spell one of players names wrong.
Finally as I said I hadnt looked at the age profiles of JGs squad but I take what you say but try being a little more respectful in your postings then you might not come over quite as an arrogant as you clearly are.
Mickey Mouse

Agree1 Disagree2

I completely agree with Melbourne. what's the point in posting pointless dribble that offers nothing? And your only excuse being that you didn't check the ages of the squad posted. I don't necessarily believe you to be a lesser supporter but saying that Cech has been at Chelsea for ages and isn't that hard to spell, you could be forgiven for mis-spelling Azpilicueta's name or something.
Hunter

Agree0 Disagree1

I get the feeling you're one of the sad cases that keeps trying to impersonate me on here Mickey. I'm sorry I didn't realise you will be at the game, I bow to your incomparable loyalty to the club. I take it you must sit with a side on view of the pitch, only way I can logically come to the conclusion of why on earth you can't spell a 4 letter name of a bloke who has stood infront of the Shed End every home game for a decade.

You picked the perfect sign off name for yourself though, well done.

Melbourne CFC

Agree0 Disagree1

What on earth are you on about wanting to impersonate you. I get the feeling that one of you more than enough.
My season ticket is in West Lower so yes I sit side on.As for bowing to incomparable loyalty no need but just accept that someone can support the club even if they spell a players name wrong.
Hunter
Dribble that offers nothing? Am I not entitled to a view that Courtois won't be at SB next season unless he is first choice?

This should be the team for Brentford:

Turnball/Blackman
Azplicueta Terry Ake Bertrand
Lampard Saville
Lalkovic Oscar Marin
Torres

With a few youthies and big names on the bench

Peds

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Stabile is quality, loads of potential. I know feruz is still young but would be good to see him have 15 minutes. BLUEBOY1

Agree with that side I'd play Ferreira instead of Azpilicueta though to give him a rest

CfcBenWxm

Agree7 Disagree1

Would be brilliant but love to see feruz

Agree0 Disagree0

Feruz, Lalkovic, Blackman and Saville all just played 90 minutes on Friday, unlikely they'll play tomorrow?? Good shout about Ake though, I go to all the Under 21 games as well and although not the tallest he is quality. Lalkovic looked good in bursts and George Saville is just the kind of grit, determination and aggression we need at the moment. I really hope he gets a chance!
MattF23

Agree1 Disagree0

Lalkovic looked a bit like Piazon does when he plays for the U21's, he thinks on a different level to the rest and gets frustrated when they can't get the ball to him or don't make the runs he expects.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

He's had piazon and Marin for the attacking 3 and still never used them. Half of this is to make it look like he's not at fault for his terrible tactics and substitutions! BLUEBOY1

Blueboy marin and paizon can you say they will offer anything different to hazard, mata or oscar! all to lieghtwieght we look so much better with moses and dare I say it mikel in the team! mata is class but the way he gets brushed of the ball is pathetic! i'd like schurrel left moses right and then you can have mata in the middle with hazard as a false number 9kevinCFC

And that's my line up judging the way roman wants to chelsea to play like barca

Mikel doesn't play in the attacking trio! yes marin brings something differen he stays wide & wouldn't crowd mata out from his central space. hazard & oscar keep crowding the centre. BLUEBOY1

My targets for the summer would be:

Cavani (ST) - I would go for Cavani mainly based on being a year younger than Falcao and I think his pace would suit the premier league better.

Schurrle (LW) - I feel we need a winger who scores goals what we've missed since Anelka. Schurrle has been praised for his work rate and is well know for his long range shooting and prolific finishing. Last piece of our attacking jigsaw.

Paulinho (CM) - We are really short of numbers in midfield with Lamps leaving. Luiz has slotted in there really well and I think with Luiz's creativity and Paulinho's muscle and box to box presence they could be a great pairing. Mikel simply isn't good enough, prefer Ramires on the wing because he can't pass in the centre.

Shaw (LB) - Great young prospect who also supports Chelsea. Impressed greatly this season would be a good back up until Cole leaves next year think Bertrand's not good enough.

Back From Loan:

Kalas
Courtois

Out On Loan:

McEachran
De Bruyne
Kakuta
Piazon
Lukaku

Out:

Hilario
Ferreira
Bruma
Bertrand
Benayoun
Lampard
Marin
Malouda
Torres

XI:

Cech

Ivanovic Cahill Terry A.Cole

Paulinho Luiz

Hazard Mata Schurrle

Cavani

Subs: Courtois, Azpilicueta, Shaw, Ramires, Oscar, Moses, Ba

CfcBenWxm

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Fellaini
Ben arfa
Shaw
Isco
Cavani/falcao. can't decide

Agree2 Disagree7

Our squad is too small as it is and your just getting rid of marin, bertrand & torres and replacing them. schurrle doesn't score many and shoots all the bloody time. you wanna send debruyne on loan even though he's been excellent in germany. marin is better than moses. lukaku is scoring so why just send him on loan?

Agree5 Disagree3

RB is not Ivanovic's best position. He doesn't really have the pace required to get up and down the flanks, not to mention the crossing ability. I personally don't see De Bruyne leaving on loan again next year, and Marin's departure will largely depend on how well he performs the rest of the season and where we end up finishing. Also think that we will keep Bertrand another year with the possibilty of Shaw coming at the end of next season when Ashley's contract finishes. I wouldn't be surprised by a move for Isco.

Agree5 Disagree0

I like the sound of it although Josh and Gael should be sold they are never going to brake into the first 11.I don't Know if paulino is a good idea Mikel will be back and eventually Oscar will fill that roll, marin and bertrand are versatile I would keep them has squad players.

But nice selection of signings wouldn't turn them away mate :)

Victor Moses

Edinson Cavani - World class striker, brings pace, power and finishing.

My 25 man squad

PB

Agree3 Disagree1

Don't think we're somehow going to spend 122m. Even if get 50-60m from sales. Perhaps if you replaced Gotze, I think it could happen. Not sure Ivanovic will leave either.

Agree2 Disagree0

My problem is everyone selling these young players. But do you even know how they are getting on out on loan? BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

3 homegrown players?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hilarious is gone end of the season, turnbull is homegrown so I would change them. Why sell ivanovic? He's been solid since day one. He's only 28, other than that your defence is sounds. Agree with kalas he's been doing really well playing right back on loan. Midfield is perfect, though I do ike Fernando of Porto. Also de bruyne is playing very well their. The trio, we will never get gotze! Isco I want, and marko Marin is quality so I would keep him for sure watched him 4 years in Germany, I would give piazon the opera unity aswell. Strikers I think keeping lukaku would be great aswell. Obviously we need cavani or falcao. Good post of understanding the team mate. But how many homegrowns do we actually need? also wouldn't right off kakuta and mceachran yet, kakuta is really stepping up in holland, looking stronger and confident.

Agree2 Disagree0

1st of all I did say my IDEAL team, I understand Gotze, Hummels is not realistic hence why I put IDEAL.

I put HG next to the players who some people might not know of. you've got Cahill, Terry, Cole, Moses who are also HG but as there not under 21 and are well known I didn't think it was necessary to point it out.

Ive made a big squad overall which isn't realistic but that is just from my point of view what I would do in an ideal/fifa/football manager type of world. i'm not saying its going to happen.

Ivanovic may well leave, Ed has mentioned that he may look for 1st team football and didn't like being played RB instead of CB. The guy is very dependable and I am a big fan but I would assume you would get some solid money for the guy and also be able to give a Kalas a chance who has shown great promise at Vitesse.

In regards to selling young players, the players sold list comprised of mostly older players such as Lampard, Essein, Benayoun, Malouda and so on. Kakuta I don't see as being able to make the bench on a consistant basis with this proposal and a 3rd year of loans isn't going to help the lad. Jeffrey Bruma as Ed has stated has no Chelsea future and will be sold in the summer and Van Annholt, with the proposed purchase of Shaw and Cole and Bertrand in the squad their is no space for him.

Just a bit of fun and we can all dream right ha

PB

Agree3 Disagree0

Ye definitely never rated bruma, kakuta is doing very well recently as is kalas

Agree2 Disagree1

Ivanovic has had a long run in the team with Terry out injured. Now that Terry's back he'll rotate between CB and RB positions. Next year Terry probably won't start as many games so the main pairing will probably be Cahill/Ivanovic. Also I don't see why we'd sell a quality established CB to give a youngster a go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cech won't be sold, you are all delusional if you believe he should leave.

Agree1 Disagree0

So what's going to happen with Courtois then? We gunna loan him out for the next few years? Delusional is insulting, don't post without leaving a name.

PB

Agree1 Disagree1

Courtois will compete with Cech next season then will become our first choice keeper. If a suitable offer was made in the summer I could see Cech leaving. Courtois despite having no experience in the premier league has earned rave reviews and would be more than a suitable replacement.
