I agree, neither was Drogba, Cech etc. Nobody knew these players before we signed them. They weren't well known 'marque signings'

Another 'make do'. 25 years old and at Bolton, Sunderland and Fiorentina for five minutes; we are off on another Rahman fiasco. You add up the wasted money on trying to fill our full back positions and we 'could' have bought one of our original targets.

C1915 Alonso played very well when he was at Sunderland. I wonder how come he finished at Fiorentina . Unlike Baba this guy was adopted to PL .

People considered him third best lb in the league after Alex Sandro and Evra. Trust Conte, he knows the Serie A well.

Playing well for Bolton or Sunderland or in Rahman's case, Augsburg is not necessarily where you would expect Chelsea to be looking. Trust Conte, yes we have to and whether this is him or others we don't know but to me it smacks of 'clutching at straws'.

First the Luis debacle, then the Raman joke, now looks like Alonso by the time were done fooling around we could have bought Alaba! It's becoming a sad trend as we waste valuable time in window then get desperate and waste money with "stop gap purchases"! What I find really funny is sometimes we haggle over a few million here and there but don't seem to mind wasting millions on players who will never stick with team! Not being negative guys, I will always support my Chelsea but just being realist! I simply struggle to see how we get in too 4 without a decent full back and centre back signing! But of course we knew that months ago! Rant over!

I don't think he's the worst player. At Sunderland he put in some good performances but it just seems like a huge let down when you think of the names we have been linked with. I'm holding onto the hope that 2 or 3 more can come in but a top four finish would be an improvement on last season. We have a very good team, capable of beating anyone in the league so if we are lucky regarding injuries then I'm sure we will challenge.

Inter Milan are set to sign Gabriel Barbosa from Santos and Joao Mario from Sporting.

Mario starred for Portugal at Euro 2016, while Barbosa featured for Brazil as they won Olympic gold earlier this month.

I've just read it, he says it's a crazy market, so what he's basically saying is the players he wants to sign are too expensive, he's saying the clubs don't want to sell so as a result the players price is being pushed up, it's a sellers market, but what happens if next season it's just as crazy or even crazier does that mean we will never sign a good player again because there to expensive?, no of course not, imagine we miss out on winning the league by a a few points, we will all say if only we signed our targets in the summer, same if we just miss out on 4 th place, for the sake of an extra few million.

I still can't believe we haven't turned our attention to Gimenez yet, I understand other clubs know about how desperate we and are Increasing the price tags of the players but Simeone has already stated he wants £40 million for Gimenez. If we bid for him it will probably be rejected and his value will increase but not as much as what we are chasing Koulibaly for.
