Pleased with the Schurrle signing he will be one of the forward 3 who won't be afraid to shoot can also cross and a great dribbler.

Will be really happy with a few more signings preferably:

In:

Lewandowski/Gomez (Both fit into our 4-2-3-1 system and are not overpriced like Cavani. )
Van Ginkel
Zouma (I prefer Mangala but he's too overpriced. )
Schwarzer (Good back up for Cech)

Back From Loan:

Lukaku
De Bruyne
Essien (Cover for RB)

Out:

Mikel
Moses
Ba
Torres

CfcBenWxm

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we should give Torres one more chance, I mean he did score 20+ goals last season in all competitions and he's a real bomber for Spain right now

Agree0 Disagree0

Grrrrr. I'm still not sure about Torres. I have this horrible feeling he's going to bang them in as soon as we sell him!

In Van Ginkel, Zouma and Kondogbia (plus backup goalie - Schwarzer)

Out Ba, Mikel, Moses.

I'd like to see Marin get a few games to see how he goes.

shurrle getting de bruyne's squad number. bad sign!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why? Who's to say that De Bruyne won't be given another number?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, he usually plays in 7 for Belgium and he played in 6 at Werder, 14 was his number at Genk, as far as I know.

I wonder what that means, will he get his preferred number? I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2013 00:28:16
I think the fact he wore 6 at Bremen shows that he doesn't care too much about kit numbers

why we were voted the most hated club in bpl.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jealousy

Agree0 Disagree0

That's not news, that's a couple of days ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Because when you ask "why are we the most hated club in bpl" you answer "jealousy"

Agree0 Disagree0

It's true though we are winning things and other teams/fans don't like it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Always been the same with my team Rangers as the song goes "We are Rangers, Super Rangers, Noone likes us we don't care " could be a good one for you guys next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Glasgow rangers? If so you blues bros are welcome on this page

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes mate Glasgow Rangers. Yourselves & Linfield being the only other British clubs to like us.

Schurrle given De Bruyne's number. 14. Interesting.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought it was de bruynes!

just want to say am not entirely convinced about Shurrle tbh. His stats arn't great and from what i've seen on youtube, alrite there are some good long range efforts on their that fly in the top corner but am yet to see any of this Bale-esque electrifying pace he's supposed to have and haven't really seen any great dribbling either. Maybe i'm watching the wrong video's but has anyone seen any real evidence of these attributes he is supposed to have?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Have you only seen him on YouTube?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I don't think I have watched him for a full 90 minutes and Youtube clips are all I have had to go on

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy having a dig about OP only seeing Schurrle on youtube. don't forget youtube reels are supposed to be the guy's hghlights so OP was more likely to see plus points to Schurrle on youtube rather than watching a 90 minute match

Just want people's opinion. Victor Wanyama is going for £12m! Why are we not looking at him! Massive upgrade on Mikel, and he's only 21! Common sense at that price for me!

Chelsea Nick

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cavani van ginkel and wanyana and I'd be very happy this window. He can be Jose new essein

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but wanyama would not been good at all, the standard in scottish football is terrible and this is coming from someone who watches it every week. wanyama would struggle. would just be more money to waste on an average player!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama should be one of our top targets, he shows all the abributes and promise to be the next Essien and more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well from what I've seen he is a quality athlete, can head a ball, can tackle, can pass, quick across the ground. He was excellent against Barca! I'd sell Essien personally. He won't be the same player again. Mikel doesn't cut it. Get rid of both and get Wanyama in!

Chelsea Nick

Agree0 Disagree0

The way Mikel play at CC, I really doubt Mourinho will agree to sell him. Torres also played very well.

Do our club chelseafc still have debts ed 018 and will steve holland be mourinho's assitant coach next season {Ed018's Note - I have no idea on the financial side of it but I believe there are no debts because of Roman. I haven't heard anything about Holland}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks ed018 very helpful

Holland was confirmed as one if the assistant coaches. we're still waiting to hear about the assistant manager.

Hi Ed. IF we brought in Cavani - would we still look at Hulk aswell? {Ed018's Note - I wouldn't know what for. We already have kit man's position filled}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Have to agree with Ed18 on this one. I'm not sure why people are clamoring over Hulk so much. Canvani (or another), Van Ginkel and centre back and we are sorted.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 13:49:44
Shurrle, Cavani, Van Ginkle, and a solid centre half should complete our summer spending.

If we let Torres, Ba, Mikel, Marin and Moses (maybe on loan) leave, this will leave us with a squad more than capable of mounting a serious title challenge next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What would be point in Moses on loan. ? It's not like his joking a new league and he was fairly regular last year?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell Moses, he's rubbish.

Jordan

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses isn't rubbish, he hugs the wing, is a good finisher, runs at wingers and is athetic and tracks back. he's a good squad player to have.

jscottjr

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with jordan get rid of Moses. Terrible understanding of team mates, bad passing, bad movement. Rubbish at crossing. Everything a decent winger needs he hasn't got.

seriously worried about getting cavani. if he himself doesn't think he's worth 50m quid, then who else will?! if he's doubting himself already i'm not exactly insprired with confidence. even torres doesn't say that.

alessandro

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He just wants to make a transfer easier?
EH17

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 13:37:08
But that's the glaring truth. He's not worth anything more than 30 quid. I hope Mou takes a look at Benteke and Aubameyang. I'll be happy with those two plus Lukaku. Or jus Benteke and Lukaku. Torres and Ba shd move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 13:57:49
Ed02 always used to say "don't believe everything you read in the papers". By the time he moves somewhere, we all will be so tired of it, we'd like the deal to be done no matter the direction of the transfer.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Benteke is nowhere near Chelsea quality. Theirs no doubt he's had a good season but I really don't think he's anywhere near as good as people think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys go on the weaintgotnohistory article about his comment. and we aren't selling torres, no one will take his wages and unfortunately he doesn't want to go

Agree0 Disagree0

Lukaku is so much better than benteke!

alessandro

Weaintgotnohistory has absolutely no inside knowledge of the club though, so when Ed002 says he expects Torres to leave and the editors of WAGNH say otherwise, I'll believe the man ITK and not the blokes who base stories on twitter

Predictions…

1st – City/Chels
2nd – City/Chels
3rd – Arsenal/Utd
4th – Arsenal/Utd
5th – Spurs/Liverpool
6th – Spurs/Liverpool

No matter what United fans say, no matter how much they choose to deny it, they all deep down know that the main reason they have been so successful is not because of the club and the name ‘Manchester United’, but because of Alex Ferguson. Without him they will struggle. Moyes is good but he’s not Ferguson. Instead of looking at United in awe next season, teams will go there believing they can capitalize on the situation, They will struggle next season.

City will be there at the top no doubt. With the squad they already have, the signings they have made, which look like not letting up, they will be a strong unit next season. Replacing Mancini with Pellegrini was a mastersroke. He’s known for having fantastic man management, and them players need that after getting lambasted constantly in the media by Mancinis ‘Publicly Humiliate them to deflect blame from me’ approach. Can see them just edging us for the league if we don’t make a couple of top quality signings.

Arsenal. With Wengers experience, Arsenal will be in the top 4 again next season. They have done it time and time again, even after losing important players, so after buying some important players to add to the current squad then we could see them finish above United in 3rd. Fergusons already proved how important a manager can be, with Wenger in charge and a couple of big signings, they will be better than they have for a few years, more clinical.

Spurs/Liverpool…
Both teams run by Joses old boys, young managers with a clear view of how they want their teams to play. At the moment, none of them are good enough for the top 4. Take away Bale and Spurs are not the same team. Take away Suarez and Liverpool are not the same team. But in time, both teams will gradually become better and better, so in a few years I wouldn’t be surprised to see them up there within the top 4, who they will replace I have no idea. Maybe they will be unlucky and be destined for top 6 finishes for the foreseeable future due to the strength of the top 4? Out of both teams I’d say Liverpool are the ones in the best position, with a history of winning and Rodgers in charge they will only get better, once they win a couple of cups or get that top 4 finish then that could kick start them towards better things. With Rodgers speaking fluent Spanish they will be able to tap into that market each season for new players, unlike Dalglish could, and no one can doubt that at the moment the Spanish players are miles ahead of everyone else bar Germany.

Us…
Everyone pundit commenting on the premier league knows how strong and exciting our squad is. It’s young and talented with some of the most exciting prospects in World Football. With a couple of big experienced signings, we will be favourites to win the league, and I truly think we will. I could go on forever about how excited I am for this season, and I’m sure I’m not the only Chelsea fan. Even the Chelsea players are coming out to say how they can not wait to work under Mourinho. Next season could be very special for us. The next 10 years could be if we manage and play it right. Good times to be a Chelsea fan. Can’t wait for the season to start!

Good to be back

Kudos to you Osgood.
JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Osgoodisking, don't give up your day job.
The most biased piece of writing I have ever read.
Funny how you have Chelsea and city at the top. The 2 teams that like to buy their success. Throw enough money at it and you get silverware. If you replace yourselves with Manchester United you may be correct. You are clear favourites for 3rd with arsenal/spurs fighting for 4th again. Don't let your heart rule your head. Your 2nd coming may not be all you wish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate I hate united as much as the nxt person as much as ferguson influenced the team I still think united will b up there next year with us and city at the end of the day and it pains me to say it there a team full of winners and they wll get money to spend looks like thiago is joining them let's not get ahead of ourselves and think were going to dominate

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2013 13:43:26
Liverpool will be up in the top4 ahead of Assanal and Spuds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool won't even be top team in merseyside again next year.
They seem to have replaced Suarez with aspas or whatever his name is.
Suarez will leave or kick up a massive stink. I can see them finishing top 8.
Mignolet is a good signing but they seem to buy untested players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you there OsgoodIsKing, glad to see you back mate, I think it'll go us, City, United, Arsenal then Liverpool mate, with the team we have and the signings we may make, I wouldn't be suprised to see us dominate for a few years.

First you say u think city will edge us in the league, then u say u expect us to win it? Make your mind up.
What has pelligurini ever won in management to make u think his appointment is a master stroke?
Cfcmatt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool won't be up there if Suarez goes

Agree0 Disagree0

Cfcmatt read again you person

OsgoodIsKing

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, so United will get much worse and Chelsea will get much better. And Chelsea will win the league. How very convenient!

Sounds like the same old ramblings we United fans hear every summer whilst there is no football being played! Yet it seems to dissipate throughout the season as the truth sinks in.

I think it will be open at the top this season, a 3 horse race between United, City and Chelsea. Too many unknown quantities to call it any more accurately at this stage, not even July yet!

Well done on your psychic abilities though ;)

HB

Agree0 Disagree0

No need to swear, if u can't articulate yourself without swearing then go back to school.
I've read your post again and stand by what I wrote.
You contradict yourself.
And explain why pelligurini is a master stroke please.
Cfcmatt.

Agree0 Disagree0

He said if we don't make some quality signings Matt you plank. Great post Osgood

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn’t actually swear Matt you sensitive old soul. I called you an endearing term that rhymes with humpty.

And if you have read the post again then I think its you that needs to go back to school. It’s clear as day what I said so I’m not even going to bother explaining it.

Regarding Pellegrini…I do think it’s a masterstroke. With the squad City have and the egos they have, coming away from Mancini I think they needed an old experienced head who will not slaughter them but protect them and put an arm around them. Pellegrini does this; his man management is renowned for being one of his biggest strengths. He may not have won anything but with the squad they have I don’t think it matters, the players have won things and their all experienced internationals, so I honestly don’t think it makes a difference.

And I still stand by what I said, United will struggle next season and Chelsea will finish above them. Not because I’m wearing rose tinted glasses. Just looking at the situation that’s how I think it will go. Last season and the season before I would have gladly admitted that we would have got nowhere near them, but things have changed. United fans are either just too blinded by the past to even consider a season where they won’t be in the top 2 or 3. Or their too scared to admit it because they know it’s a possibility.

I could be wrong but these are my predictions…

OsgoodIsKing

Agree0 Disagree0

Kevin Keegan was a good mam manager, nuf said.
Cfcmatt.

Agree0 Disagree0

5 years at Villareal, a town with a population of 45,000, Pellegrini took them to Champs League Semi-finals in 2006.

Last coach to split the big 2 in La Liga, finishing runner up to Real Madrid, earning him a move to Real the next season.

Broke the then Real points record but unluckily still finished 2nd behind a Barcelona team managed by Pep Guardiola. On a side note of his time at Real Madrid, he was ignored by the powers that be when he insisted Real should not sell Robben or Sneijder…both went on to play in the Champs League final that season, and both have since played major roles in helping their teams win the trophy. Real have not.

Guided Malaga to their first ever Champs League qualification, then guided them to within a whisker of the Semi Finals, all whilst fighting his players corner when wages went unpaid.

Did Kevin Keegan do any of these or get close to any of these? I mean he was a good man manager after all wasn’t he Matt…

Maybe you should leave the football banter pages alone mate.

Kindest Regards
OsgoodIsKing

P. S. ‘nuf said’

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did u copy and paste that from? you don't just pick players from the towns population pal. I asked what he had won? No prizes for 2nd place.
Is it because I don't agree with you and say "good to have you back" that you get so touchie? Can't help it if my opinion differs from yours.
Happy bantering!

Ed, hernandez has been showing great finished the last two seasons and in the confederations cup, yet he gets very little game time with Man U and looks like he would be a great young striker to finished hazard's and mata's through balls. Is there any chance United would sell and is there any intrest? {Ed018's Note - I would think Hernandez would only leave possibly leave if another striker was to come in and if Rooney stays}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

ED018, Do you think Rooney would be of interest to Chelsea? And in you're opinion do you see Rooney leaving MUFC? Only you're opinion ed018, don't want you to get a load of grief from the MUFC fans. :) {Ed018's Note - I still think he will stay but there is constantly stories on him leaving all the time. Napoli signs dries martins he is a striker from psv Very good news

Hello,
I was wondering if any of the Ed's know anything about Micah Richards situation with Man City, being reported that he has turned down a contract offer from them? If so would we be interested?
DP {Ed018's Note - try the City page.i don't think Chelsea would be interested}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If Micah Richards becomes available, I have no doubts Chelsea would be interested. And so would be other top PL clubs. After all he's a young, adaptable defender which poor pool of English talent dies not provide too often. On the other hand, if he can't be financially accomodated at City, then where could he be? Game time behind Zabaleta is an issue as well. And as much as this, it could be just an added pressure from an agent trying to get a deal done. Quite common at City recently.

Some great talent in the spain and france under 20 sides wow roman and mourinho should be watching.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm sure Chelsea have appropriate scouting representation at the tournament; not sure that Abramovich or Mourinho need to be there tbh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve b I understand now there is an invention called the television apparently it allows you to be in one place and watch preceedings in another location, fantastic eh. so neither mourinho or abramovich need to be anywhere near the game to see these players. whilst there are many scouts at chelsea I am sure mourinho will watch many games and many players as he is a consumate professional

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Really Dave, how did I miss that?! I'm sure they do watch matches but I'd bet you any money that a scout at a game can give a better perspective of a player than somebody watching on tv. ;)

How could you possibly see a player off the ball, shows how good a scout you'd be. you must have been in charge of the andy carrol to pool signing
