Why dont some duffers on this site READ THE PREVIOUS POSTS instead of asking the same questions over and over and wasting the Eds' time?
Ok, we have Oscar, signed sealed and delivered. We are looking towards signing Moses and Azpilicueta for sure. Then Cavani and Hulk are possibilities, with one of the two arriving.
Thats it! it doesnt look as there will be anyone else, so please stop wasting everyone's time farting questions about the likes of Van Persie, Moura etc etc. Jeez!!

Which position do you expect oscar to be employed in, a deep lying playmaker or just behind the striker.
Believable0

I expect him to be involved in the trio behind the striker. Certainly for his first season.

Anywhere that suits the team
trueblue012

His prefered position would be behind the striker but he could be played in the CM role, playing deeper and running things from there.
Agree0

I dont think the supporting 3 will be fixed to a role, whoever starts in the middle may move out to the left etc. I dont think these versatile players being bought is any coincedence and I look forward to seeing defenders faces go from relief when thay realise marin has moved position to fear when they see Hazard, mata or Oscar has taken his place!

Ffalcou would be 50mil prob. u seen his strike rate! make torres in his pool days look like a chump!
Agree2
Disagree1
We could probably get Falcao for £35m + £5m add ons due to At Madrids poor financial state. Question is would he want to move. Falcao would be the most successful if he moved to Chelsea. Cavani would have preferred the style of play we played last season with the long ball. Cavani is also a lot less good technically, plus Falcao is a more intelligent player. IMO I think Falcao would be worth the few million more than cavani.
Agree1
Disagree0
108 goals in 135 since moving to Europe speeds for itself!
^^^^^^^^
FALCAO
Agree0
Disagree0
In their 1st season hypothetically starting every prem game:
Falcao : 25+ goals
Cavani: around 20 goals
Lewandowski: around 15 goals
Agree1
Disagree0
Remember this, Falcao is a poacher. He does not have a great deal pace but he makes up for it with intelligent positioning. He is Rud van Nisterooy,Crespo type striker. But we need strikers with pace more like Cavani to play with Torres. That would be awesome.
roan
Agree1
Disagree3
Yer look at where falcao has played though apart from barca and madrid, atheletico are the 3rd best team in that league and before that he played at porto, hulks strike rate is good there and he played right wing
cavani is playing in a league known for its defensive style making it harder to score
whats wrong with my description samir ;) i actually said a white drogba with more pace LOL
curt
Agree0
Disagree3
Falcao ain't a poacher for whoever said that. He is extremely quick aswell. Just look on YouTube every touch Falcao makes in a game and YouTube every touch Cavani makes in a game and you will see the difference.

yes white drogba, hes white and good in the air like drogba with good finishing
Agree0

He may be faster than Drogba but he is far less strong plus has nowhere near the same footballing intelligence as Drogba.

Seems to me we have a decent number of central midfielders (lamps, Mikel, Meireles, Essien, Romeu, McEachran and of course Ramires) but I can help thinking that the playmaker is still missing. I know Oscar is being bought to play further forward but I dont feel we are completly covered defensively because I do not believe Essien will be the player he once was. Is Mikel up to it as the first choicedestroyer/dictator?
Believable1
Unbelievable3
Mikel was absolute quality under Di Matteo last season. Trust me there aren't many good Defensive mids out there for a realistic price.
Agree3
Disagree6
Like to see you got a positive attitude towards it
javi martinez is probably the cheapest option who can play there and is good enough for our team
in essien and mikel we should trust {Ed018's Note - Javi Martinez would not be a cheap option. He would cost quite a bit}
Agree0
Disagree0
Oh and have u seen our signings ??
how can u say were missing playmakers
Agree2
Disagree2
Ed 018 i said cheapest option of a defensive midfielder whos good enough for us
you may well have another player in mind for cheaper though {Ed018's Note - Fernando from Porto would be cheaper}
Agree0
Disagree0
I understand what your saying ed 018 but i mean for the price compared to quality hes the cheapest option because m vila is stupid money although i may have missed a defensive midfielder that you rate highly that would be a good addition {Ed018's Note - The point is, Athletic will not sell Martinez cheaply. I'd love to see him at Chelsea though}
Agree0
Disagree0
As its already been said Mikel was brilliant towards the end of last season and my man of the match for the cl final. He can do the job of 'destroyer' with someone next to him 'dictating'. Just to add I thought Lamps was brilliant in the deeper role and I think Joshy will excell as well
Blue John
Agree2
Disagree2
Mikel quality? he played alright in 2 games barca and munich, thats because we defended & guess what thats all he is good at. if we attacked he would of been useless, he defiantly cant pass forward. BLUEBOY1
Agree4

Ur full of s*** saying Mikel was quality. He tackled a lot, what else did he do other than pass back and lose possession, I suggest everyone uh. Says he was is go and watch sat seasons DVD. U r all a joke.
Agree2
Disagree5
I agree that mikel was brilliant at the end of last season but that's because we was defending as a team but I don't feel like he has the pace to intercept balls. I think Essien looked good against psg and I would like to see him be the defensive mid we have missed since he got injured.
Agree2
Disagree2
Bluejohn said it perfectly.
Agree2
Disagree1
Ah good shout there ed
think hes good enough? {Ed018's Note - Fernando? Yea he is a good player}
Agree0
Disagree0
Its a discussion that could go on a while to be fair and in all honesty makele is probably top 3 best defensive mid ever and he wasnt known for blistering pace but then again he had great positioning and tactical awareness that mikel lacks id have to agree that mikel does well as a denfensive team but as a sole def mid it would be alot harder for him
curt
Agree0
Disagree0
Fernando is a great player. A more defensive and physical version of Ramires. How much would Fc Porto want for him then ed018? {Ed018's Note - To hard say. Porto, as we all know demand a high price for their players. But I dont expect a move for a defensive midfielder this summer}

Good laugh on the Spurs banter page with some Toby posting a team with Lloris, Micah Richards, Ben Arfa, Oscar, Hulk, Moutinho, Adebayor and Falcao! And the best bit? They think they have a shot at those players! Ben Arfa won't leave, Oscar wants to play for a good team, Falcao is happy in Spain, Hulk wants Chelsea, not AVB, Moutinho admitted he doesn't want to leave Porto for a non-CL, Micah Richards won't leave City and Adebayor (Who is most likely to join them) is as overrated as Stuart Downing!
Think the old post is well worth a look at if you need a good laugh, you can see a textbook Fifa/FM player spouting out dribble and the other toby's all agreeing with it!

Not sure why everyone is having a moan about moses. The way I see it is we need a replacement for Kalou and also that would free up Sturridge to play up front. He will probably share it with Torres and Cavani (if he comes). Let's not forget we are going to be challenging for 7 trophies this season so plent of playing time for all.
25 man squad:
Cech, Turnbull (although I'd sooner him leave) Hilario
Cole, Bertrand, Ivanovic, Cesar, Terry, Cahill, Luiz, Hutchinson
Mikel, Romeu, Ramires, Essien, Lamps
Piazon, Oscar, Mata, Marin, Hazard, Moses
Torres, Cavani, Sturridge
Leaving:
Miereles - Sell
Josh - Loan
Chalobah - Loan
De bruyne - Loan
Lukaku - Loan
Ferriera - Coaching Role/Sell
Kakuta - Sell
Malouda - Sell
Believable6

Terry, cole, ivanovic, cahill (has league expierence), lamps, mikel, essien, torres, cech
why do we need them you mentioned for expierence

Because the mentioned above is not enough considering the amount of youngsters we are buying.

When they come back the club will reassess some of the older player eg Essien, Lamps, Bran, Obi etc etc
A squad should evolve and that is the plan here.

are you an person? i named the players we would still have for expierence and theres a goalkeeper defenders midfielders and a striker please tell me how my list of expierence players as you say is "not enough"
Agree0
Disagree3
That's only 9 relatively experienced players in the whole club ! You need around 15 usually. The balance needs to be right. They add experience plus help foreign players settle in, they have international pedigree plus have big match experience that the youngsters can learn from. I rest my case.
Agree2
Disagree1
Your case isnt rested
its 11vs11 and we have 9 expierenced players plus mata, hazard, marin and now oscar (internationally) know what the big time is all about mata, hazard, marin and oscar are all better than benayoun for a start
i just cant see how your case is standing up to be honest if this was in court you would be found guilty

There's no doubt Torres' attitude has to improve for next season!

He publicly said that he was disappointed the way the club had treated him. Basically he was saying that he wanted to start more games and was complaining about not starting the cl final. He released this statement the day after the cl final which I Think is a disgrace. It's obviousthay he thinks that he is bigger than the club and if he can't perform with competition for places he should be sold as we are a competitive club.

More Moses chat and rumours.
I think he would be a great squad addition actually.
I know ed will scold me because it just doesnt work like this, but I would rather have Oscar and Moses, than Hulk.

Our squad is big enough already without him!

People need to remember that Moses is homegrown.
