Paying silly money for players is not the way to build fit the future. Not giving any player what ever they want just because you think man city might want him! Grow up and try to look at the whole picture not just the hear and now.

Look, just cause we have signed Torres last window and have finished the Luiz transfer which was not concluded in the summer, it does not mean we will buy Higuain or Hazard or Messi.

There are no patterns in this. We could pull one more, other than DeBruyne, but i won't be surprised if we didn't.

I assume the players which interests AVB cost over something the club is willing to pay, and we are just recycling the options which predate AVB. It never works out in the end if you consiser your manager long term. Unless we don't again.

Gentlemen - why are you keep saying, that buying a left sider will move Mata behind the striker and all that? When have seen AVB change the formation? When did this happen?

Look at Norwich game. Lamps went off and on came Malouda. I thought - here is your chance for masterpiece. Shift Malouda to front left, with Mata behind Torres and Sturridge on the right, with Meireles and Ramires at the base.

And what did happen? I mean - we are playing agains Norwich, with flat 1-8-2 defence. Nothing! Malouda just slotted into Lamps place and Mata stayed on front left.

Depressing lack of creativity and bravery from the manager.

Although I do not agree with it being a lack of creativity on AVB's side, thank god someone else pointed this out ! All I've been seeing on this site for the last week is mata in midfield which is clearly something which the manager does not want to do so let it go people

Well the fact that AVB stated that he needed a winger suggests that he is planning to put that unknown winger (possibly Hazard or Willian) on the left, and switch Mata to the middle.

He only slotted Malouda into the central midfield because he lacks pace neccesary on the wings now.

Samir

Agree3 Disagree0

Or he could be saying that because he wants to free up sturridge who plays RIGHT WING which also happens to be the same position as hazard/willian. plus like ed said, dont always listen to what avb says

"Depressing lack of creativity and bravery from the manager." Spot on mate

Ed: i have foolowed and supported CFC through thick and thin. Like most of been spoiled ever since RA took over the club, and won't hide the fact that i enjoyed top players wearing the blue of ours.

And at the same time have my own concerns with the way the club is being run, just like the most of us.

I understand that our policy has changed most recently and judging by the action, we are stockpiling our options for the future.

Our targets age frame and certain abilities have shifted. For better or worse - it remains to be seen, but the club sets out targets for the boss to achieve and doesn't back him with personnel to do just that.

Only Meireles and Mata feature regularly for the first 11 and we almost have noone to come of the bench to change the course of the game.

I read we won't buy for the sake of buying. Fair. Of course not. But it irritates me that the club thinks we are a top club like Barca, RM and MU all of the sudden. We don't have top players dreaming of joining our proud tradition one day.

In order to attract top talent we have to overspend some, otherwise we are heading Arsenal's way. Which unfortunately looks very familiar to their recruiting policy these days.

We have to get excited over certain Cahill's and DeBruyne joining us. What's exactly exiting in this?

I would rather prwfer a 32 year old Gullit of 30 year old Desailly. I remember being very excited about that.

What are we expe ting to win with these type of players? Champions League? I struggle to see us overcoming Napoli. I am just sad. This new direction we are heading is probably the lowest point of me being a Chelsea fan in these last 15 years.

Believable6 Unbelievable13

I completely agree to the comment above. We are never winning the champions league with de bruyne and cahil type of players. Would any of these players break into either barca, real, man u, man city etc. clearly no is your answer. They would just about get on the bench. Very dissapointed so far. Only time would tell if AVB knows what his doing tbh.

Agree3 Disagree8

Youve got be kidding pal, we spent 75 million last January, 20 odd on Mata and 20 odd on Lukaku in the summer and your saying there is nothing to get excited about, the club is trying its hardest to sign the best young talent in europe to build a succsessful team for years to come. Yeah we could go out and buy '32' and '30' year olds like you want, then in 3 or 4 years time when we're in decline because of age you'd be one of the fans complaining. Have you not learned anything from the last 7/8 years. Lowest point in 15 years!! fans like you really do my head in, i was there when we were premier league strugglers and i loved it then just as much as i do now, we're fourth in the premier league and in the knockout stages of the champions league and this is meant to be our 'crisis' year, We have never had it so good. I hope we dont get champions league and finish bottom half of the league so we can lose the fans like you and get the real boys back. Lowest point in 15 years! you are both unbelievable, bring back Grimbsy away on a tuesday night, its not the money that ruins clubs, its fans like you and you ridiculous new found expectations,

SHED END

Agree17 Disagree2

Stop giving us a lecture on how long you been supporting chelsea. Clearly you don't seem to have any ambition and perhaps your so locked in this so called stone age where chelsea was competing with grimsby and cnt seem to get out of that age.

Matter of fact your talking about team irregardless of the crisis we are going through should be good enough to compete for the title,as the manager himself quotes so often. so for you to run your mouth and talk about chelsea finishing mid table just brings into question what kind of fan are you. Are you even a chelsea fan???

Fans like you make me sick.

Agree0 Disagree9

Completely agree with SHED END. lowest point in 15 years? do you even know where we were 15 years ago. even if you guys dont have faith in the manager/players at least have faith in the club. KTBFFH

Vincent

Agree8 Disagree0

Clearly not a chelsea fan.

Agree0 Disagree2

Mate i have never been so angry at a post on here, your a plastic fan, we are not in a crisis, as a club and as fans we have never had it so good, and your questioning me as a fan. No team wins forever, i was here long before we were winning, and i will be here long after were winning, and fans like me make YOU feel sick haha. Your are the very definition of a plastic fan with jumped up expectations, How ungrateful you are is unbelievable, and name your posts in future

SHED END

Agree10 Disagree0

I completely agree with shed end, I think what roman is trying to do to build for the future is admirable. Its the first sensible thing we've done in a while. Clubs need stability and u won't get that by bringing in 30 year olds every few years, we need players who are in it for the long haul. The reason we've been successful is because our best players like terry, lampard, drogba have all been at the club for years. This is what he is trying to do again. Maybe if we can get rid of the glory supporters and get the real fans back we might get some atmosphere back at the bridge

Agree8 Disagree0

Well said to that guy ^^^, glad im not the only one

SHED END

Agree0 Disagree0

Shed End Agree with all your comments. We should be loving it.As a young boy i remember us nearly being relegated to the old third division ,this is paradise! Our club has come a long way in the last 10 - 15 years.I love the club its part of my history,Comunity and identity.I dont love these nova fans who dont know the meaning of the word loyalty and from what i can see will never love the blue boys in the way we did back in the day.We were s**t and we knew it but boy did we love the club,no matter what through thick and thin.We are now a million miles away we are very coparate and have lots of trophy hunting so called supporters. However they will never feel it like we do so i feel sorry for them.

Battersea Boy.

Hu ever sed abwt signing 30 year olds is a tosser, o yer lets pay ther huge demanding wage bills and thn in 3 years b where we r nw! lets re build nw then who knows nxt or the year after wel b gd

Agree5 Disagree0

Some fans are so unrealistic with ambitions, why is it a failure if you dont win the league every year?

Look at barca, build from the academy and add a couple top class players...even madrid only spend silly money on players under 27, dont sign 30 year old cast offs looking for a pay day

Im a newcastle fan and much rather build slow like we are now than spend silly money on big names who are on the decline

Toon Fan

Of course Cahill would break into the top sides in the world. He was even linked with the 1970 Brazil side!.......

ED Was de bruyne the exciting news you were Supposed to bring us in the next few days?thanks for everything, harry. {Ed002's Note - Does De Bruyne get you excited?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I didnt think he played that well against us in the Champions League. Not seen much of him other than that.

Warren.

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope de bruyne isn't the exciting news. Doesn't get me excited at all.

Agree1 Disagree0

I dont rate the bloke at all.

Agree0 Disagree2

So De Bruyne is the exciting news Ed?

Agree0 Disagree2

Why do people keep saying "we don't want de Bruyne because he played poorly against us" so what, Rooney has poor games against us but would you turn him down? Same for Ronaldo, never played well against Barca would you say no to him?
