Ed 002 Is there a reason why clubs in Spain/Portugal have contractual buyouts fees agreed for there players and clubs in the PL don't?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - It is because it is a legal requirement but it only stands in the country under which law controls the contracts - and even then there are different types of clauses. You would do best to ignore them.}

Yes sir, I would.
I love mata and don't want to see him leave. However if Jose does not want him then I am sure many of the other top European clubs will. I am sure it will be a major plus in our favour, to allow Jose to get the player he wants, and to include mata as part of any deal. That is if mata wants to leave, and move to France or Italy or back to Spain.

And PB I think we'd have to give cash plus Mata for Pagba. Ok Mata is easier on the eye than Oscar but Oscar is the much better all round player. We have so much potential in that position. Look at Piazon, he's sort of becoming their leader in Vitesse and is much like Oscar, as in he fights for every ball (a Jose player). As good as Mata is, he is not a Jose player and never will. So a Pogba, Mata swap is much to my liking.
If oscar doest reach 20 goals 36 assists in all comps jose got it wrong. west brom & newcastle proved we needed mata, so to sell him too another topside is suicide and a disgrace. oscar was poor for a couple games just like ivanovic, still no chance for mata or dave to play rb.

What if Oscar gets 10 goals and 10 assists and plays most games. Mata only gets a hand full of games but gets around the same stats. BUT we end up winning the PL, CL and FA cup.

Hey guys. Liverpool fan here in peace. We are missing a top midfielder I feel. And mata would be the dream. But, I know he would not be sold to us for straight cash. This wouldn't happen, but how much cash would you give with mata (if any) for luis Suarez? I don't want Suarez gone but I'm sure it'll be harder and harder to keep him. {Ed002's Note - There is perhaps a slim chance that Mata could go out on loan in January but there is no suggestion of an exchange for Suarez.}

At least it's now clear to people while Mikel has remained a key part of the first team over the years. Might not be glamorous but he lays the platform for others to shine. Lamps and Ramy did their job well yesterday because Mikel allowed them to.
Totally agree, brought a balance to the team we have been lacking.

I think most people realise what Mikel can do their problem is that there are players out their who could do what he does for us and much more like pogba, kondogbia, sven bender and especially gundogan he sits in deep supplies final passes, and runs for 90 mins has been injured for dortmund and see how they've faired without him. Mikel is good but we are going to need better and that is a fact for the players we have in front of him.
I agree with what the others said. Mikel provides a base so the others can play their games and I prefer him over lampard as a matter of fact. In the end his game is limited and the guys they listed have more ability/potential.

Gundogan doesn't sit deep. He plays the box-to-box role as Lampard and/Ramires. What exactly does Sven Bender does - score goals?

First of all I like everyone else on here wants Gundogan and Pogba and tbh both dont't really sit deep do they?! No, they are the modern day central mids that have and could do everything, any of those two beside Rami and I tell you what Hazard, Oscar and the likes would have such a good season, forgive me if you didn't get that but that's what I meant. Mikel isn't bad he isn't just as good as others in that position who take their game that extra mile. Now as for Sven bender he isn't a goal scorer or a creator but he does know how to give the ball to the people who know how to use it quickly he might not be out best bet because he is almost like Rami in the sense of energy probably a slightly better passer of the ball and yeah not as fast bet he'll give the others freedom to express themselves. IMO we have Van ginkel, Rami and Mikel (inrespect to next season cause I can't see us changing that during the winter ) and that's not bad but definately we need either Pogba or Gundogan beside Rami and we will be unstoppable Mikel is Good but not good enough. Simple.
Got to agree with the two above posters. Although Ramires isn't a defensive midfielder for me. I do think we need two central midfielders maybe one in January and one at the end of the season to replace Lampard preferably Gundogan. I think we need a quality defensive mid now and I think we should try to bring Matic back. He would sit deep for us is a better passer than Mikel and would give us an aerial threat we need someone physical like him because I feel we're still getting knocked off the ball too much. Matic holding would also allow Ramires to burst forward and join attacks he attack and also allow Oscar to attack a bit more. Can't see Gundogan leaving in January but we do need to go allout for him in the summer to replace Lampard.
All together Matic will cost more than Torres if you count Luiz transfer . No matter he is one of the best CMs in the world, I think he is worth it. If you people recall Matic was brought to Chelsea with idea to replace Lampard.
Guys, guys in 50 matches for Nigeria Mikel scored 7 goals. At Chelsea after 188 matches.he scored his first goal. He plays totaly different role at his national team.

Nigeria plays 442 and Mikel is playing CM.
