As much as I want to say our players come through Chalobah hasn't done anything to convince me in the u21 euro's. I honestly thing Ake is a better player now. The England midfield has missed someone of Loftus-Cheek's calibre all tournament and Southgate won't start him. Absolutely clueless.

Couldn't agree any more. Chalobah has been absolutely awful most of the tournament (especially tonight!) Loftus-Cheek on the other hand in his short cameos against both Sweden and Italy changed the game in England's favour. Such a physical presence and also a very classy footballer- proven by his little flick for that assist!
Southgate has to go though, what was he thinking starting Forster-Caskey over one of RLC, Ward-Prowse or Hughes?! Harry Kane wasn't at his best this tournament nor was Ings, whilst I though Butland had a poor game today. Why do we insist on not playing our best players in these tournaments?! For example why wasn't Sterling, Wilshere, Shaw and Oxlade-Chamberlain there? Yet another disappointing tournament after so much hope.

Ed002 if u don't mind what is the future for Chalobah . I no a few years ago he was highly rated is that still the case.

In my opinion he having a good tournement is def mid for England. and with Steve holland watching would that help he's chelsea chances.

Cheers ed002

{Ed002's Note - There are no specific plans for his future. He will progress to a squad player, perhaps be loaned and at some point perhaps sold. I have no idea what sort of answer you are expecting.}

Hi ed after this post I was just wondering if Steve Holland is still a Chelsea employee or did he leave when he went to join the England U21s? Cheers mate

{Ed002's Note - What?}

Sorry if that question was a little stupid or worded wrong. I was just wondering if Steve Holland is still a Chelsea coach? Many thanks

{Ed002's Note - Sure, why wouldn't he be?}

More rumours of bid for Raheem Sterling today. We need a RW and we also need HG talent, is this worth reading into?
I rate him as a player but I feel there are better alternatives for that price. would be nice to knick him before city do though;)

I'd rather see Traore given a chance. Everybody's always crying out for a right winger who has an eye for goal to play opposite side of Hazard. Sterling's finishing is not very good, while Traore has shown his abilities when he played as a striker. Most of his goals didn't come from the usual striker positions though, so his goal scoring could definitely translate to a wing position.

I really hope we stay away to be honest. He'll in all likelihood turn out to be a great player but I doubt its worth the risk. Besides, we're more than covered in the attacking midfield department, especially with Bertrand Traore getting his work permit!

I'd wait til the last day of the window then lowball Pool with an offer of £20m. They need to sell him much more than anyone really needs to buy him. A) Pool have FFP issues B)Sterling's agent has already mentioned that they'd be happy to buy him out of the last year of his contract, so in essence if Pool don't sell him now, he'd have 6 months left of his contract in Jan.

Pace frightens teams and sterling has bags of it but that's it. His shooting is awful,still only young. Having said that he's still a good player but as a club why are we not pushing hard for top quality players like pogba/greizman. I understand it's not as easy as saying I want him and then he signs but juventus are interested in Oscar and Ramires, both of which if sold could generate maybe £50m. Offering those two players plus £20m surely would turn the heads of juventus. Some reports today of a bid for greizman of cash plus Luis or even Salah. I'm only a fan and don't really know the ins and outs of transfers but surely along these lines makes sense.

NWBLUE, how do you know that the club aren't pushing for the top quality players? The media are the ones publishing the stories, not Chelsea.

As for player-exchange deals, I've seen Ed mention previously that they are difficult to achieve. whilst it may make sense to those outside football, I think that kind of thing is more prevalent in Football Manager than in real life! :)

{Ed018's Note - it's actually pretty hard to pull of on Football Manager as well. At least I've never had any luck}

there seems to be (in my eyes) a miss conception about Sterling's shooting ability. whilst he is not yet clinical I think he has a decent shot on him. I get the feeling the media have drilled this into peoples heads.
whilst I agree traore should be given a chance with Chelsea next year he is almost certainly not ready to be a starting RW whereas sterling is quite capable of rotating and learning from willan/hazard

Do we really need a starting winger though? Willian is very good player in his own right and brings qualities that Mourinho obviously values a lot. Cuadrado might still prove to be a good player as well for us. I love Oscar and when he's not too tired he should be our starting central attacking midfielder. He links play superbly and our play isn't fluid when he's not on the pitch. So when fit Oscar plays, and Hazard obviously as well. Willian is a Mourinho favourite, so do we need a starting winger?

Sterling is no better than Willian! Having said that if we bought him I think we would play him 10.

I am a big fan of Oscar and Willian. But are they both better than sterling? in our eyes yes as we are Chelsea fans and support these players however I am not so sure a neutral would agree? if we are going to push in the CL and dominate the PL (which should be our aim) we need a player in either CAM or RW who can score around 15 a season all comps.
I think that's fair to say

We do need a righ starting winger. We are too 1-wing attack already. In our old squad, Williams, Cuadrado came in as starter many times but we still play our attack on the left. We extremely need sb that can compete with Hazard on other wing. For more variety in attacking, for Hazard can relax if sb over him. Sterling, Reus or sb, I don't care. Take s.o that can run, dribble and drive the RB crazy.

All though Willian work rate is great. He creates and scores nothing it ain't enough with only playing with one striker.

The latest striker we're linked with (by the papers) is Benteke. Are we interested in Benteke or is it just paper talk?

Thanks
