Wow, Pep must be upset after Jorginho snubbed City. What a player he looks. A real leader as well. He ran that midfield and I can already see how we will play next Season, front foot, attacking, possession based, exciting times ahead. Hudson-Adoi is a star in the making as well. Give him a go. Cesc will suit our new system as will Luiz. Need to keep Hazard, Willian, Kante and even Tibo (looks unlikely) and then just sign a striker, centre back and maybe a left back. Looking good.

Disagree about T-Bo and Willian. Get rid! Bailey and Schmeichel in.

Agree5 Disagree3

24 Jul 2018 03:06:05
Get rid of Willian? I can never take any comment you ever make on here seriously again Frank. lol.

Agree1 Disagree7

24 Jul 2018 05:40:20
Why would you want to keep him? Pretty sure more people would agree with me rather than you about Willian. Inconsistent and not good enough!

Agree5 Disagree2

24 Jul 2018 06:43:15
Willian has been players player of the year twice in the last 3 seasons so the players obviously love him. He’s a great player who fits in a 4-3-3 better than most. People seem to forget how good he was when we were really poor under Mourinho.

Agree1 Disagree6

24 Jul 2018 08:16:30
Jimmy, he wasn’t really that great. I think he scored something like 12 goals but 8 were from set peices.

He’s a good player but doesn’t score enough on open play and has been dissapointing since joining from Shakter. Lots of respect to Willian pre Conte, but he should leave.

Agree3 Disagree0

24 Jul 2018 08:25:53
Most people would agree more with you than me Frank? Oh, like the football people at Barcelona and Man Utd who want to buy him? or Sarri who wants to keep him? or his fellow players who rate him so highly? Lol. (or a few of your friends on a football banter site? ) 😂😂.

Agree2 Disagree5

G*: Nice to see you haven't lost that cutting tongue, roll on the new season to see who you target. I totally agree with the assessment of Jorghino and Hudson-Odoi, poor opposition, but both full of confidence. However, Fabregas cannot tackle and Jorghino admits he is a creative midfielder which means Kante will be left to do the heavy work which will not do. We need someone who can take some pressure off Kante that is why I liked Pjanic or his type. Please don't say Bayakoko could fill the role, what a waste of £40m that was.

Agree2 Disagree3

24 Jul 2018 10:20:52
I would play willian inside forward in a 433.

Agree1 Disagree4

24 Jul 2018 10:28:53
I can bet my life on it there’s a higher percentage of Chelsea fans who would rather sell him than keep him. We’d be stupid to turn down 60 million for a 29 year old. Then go for Bailey and Martial who actually have better end product and also more room to grow. So yeah more people would agree with me kid 🤣.

Agree2 Disagree1

24 Jul 2018 11:55:41
We will regret letting Willian go especially if he goes to Utd. He would be good in the midfield 3.

Agree1 Disagree3

24 Jul 2018 15:47:39
why would we sell to Utd if they have refused to sell martial to Chelsea.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jul 2018 11:32:21
If Utd offer £70m he will go to them regardless of any deal for martial. Chelsea is a business and I’m not sure the club will of appreciated his post online after the cup final. I may be wrong but that’s my opinion, both mata and matic ended up there because they paid a premium for being a rival.

23 Jul 2018 22:10:20
Sky Italy says Barcelona have now entered the Malcolm deal which will mean Barcelona shelving any plan for Willian. Malcolm couldn't arive at Rome today cos his flight has been cancelled. Good or bad for us? Thoughts.

As good as it is to see can we just remember boga last pre season, ripping arsenal apart and looking great v Bayern etc, let's not get carried away. The boys good but all this talk of first team place and new deals etc seems like we're getting ahead of ourselves again.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

23 Jul 2018 22:11:16
well when you look at the likes of salah and KDB they never got a chance and they will now haunt us over the next few years I would imagine it's about time they played some of the kids we win youth fa cup every year but yet they are not good enough baffles me for me max 2 year on loan then try them in the team if loan spells look to have come off ie mason mount another good spell with derby this year and he should be gib8n an opportunity.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2018 08:46:14
Boga has been sold to Sassulo for £3.5m so clearly not too highly thought of by the club.

24 Jul 2018 08:56:57
I think there's a buyback clause.

23 Jul 2018 16:10:00
it seems sari has promoted Hudson odoi to the first team squad. new contract incoming too.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

23 Jul 2018 17:11:12
That would be a great move by Sarri he is the future and good enough to be the present as well. I think Barkley could turn out to be a real gem under Sarri him Jorghino and Kante as a midfield 3 sounds good the me with Rlc Cesc and Drinkwater or Bakayoko rotating.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 18:15:19
Should sell Drinkwater and Baka. Baka isn’t a Sarri player. Good point on the starting 3 though. I think Kante, Jorginho and Barkley is a complete midfield. But we should use Loftus-Cheek, Ampadu and Cesc for rotation. I prefer Ampadu as a CDM.

Agree2 Disagree1

23 Jul 2018 20:57:46
Good call king frank yeah we’d be better trimming the squad and using more youngsters to fill the squad berths.

Agree0 Disagree2

23 Jul 2018 15:56:46
I know it's only the first game of pre-season, but Morata looked poor once more. The guy just can't finish with his feet and spends most of the time on the floor.

If we can get an out and out goalscorer to literally just finish off our moves we'll be so much more of a dangerous team.

Like him or not, Higuain would finish more chances than not. He might be 31 but who cares if he can stick the ball in the net and we have a successful season.

I'll support Morata while he's in a blue shirt, but he just frustrates me so much!

Jorginho looked very good though it must be said, as did Hudson Odoi and Barkley.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

23 Jul 2018 18:52:16
The thing that annoys me with Morata is he has a great first touch but always comes back towards midfield instead of taking that touch towards goal and either winning a free kick or getting that first yard in front of the defender. I’d be confident when Sarri gets the team going that he will get 20+ goals but I feel with say someone like Aguero you’d be looking at 30+. Basically saying I’m happy if he stays and not too bothered if he is replaced by a top striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 20:12:12
His confidence was affected last season. let's believe he can get it back.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 13:34:23
Boy does Jorghino go looking for the ball and Hudson-Odoi, albeit against poor opposition, showing his intent and awareness. Is it me or has he filled out a bit?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

23 Jul 2018 16:35:48
be interesting to see if we can progress odoi into a superstar he's everything u expect from an emerging talent quick agressive confident and works hard . rlc should look at this performance an wonder why he hasn't convinced people yet.

23 Jul 2018 13:32:37
So booked today off to recover from a heavy weekend on the drink. Watching the blues against Perth. Couple of things for those at work:

1. Pedro suits Sarri's style of play very well
2. Hudson-Odoi looks like a boy out to prove a point
3. On his day Luiz is still our best defender
4. Jorginho - £57m? that may turn out to be a snip, no wonder Pep is salty. Think he's missed 1 pass out of about 50 so far, setting the tempo, very good in tight spaces, literally will accept the ball in any situation. saw him a few times at Napoli and didn't appreciate how good he was.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 Jul 2018 14:13:33
Yea Pedro will fit into Sarri's football. He would be like Jose Callejon. I really want Barkley to come good.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 14:28:16
Barkley has done really well. He will probably be the more attacking of a 3 man midfield, he’s very similar to Zielinski at Napoli.

Musonda and Tammy have been bright.

Kalas, Aina, Bakayoko and Piazon. not good enough I’m afraid. Might be first game nerves for some of the young lads but Bakayoko just looks lost as usual.
It’s been a very positive first pre season game. The first half was excellent.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 15:48:49
Just shows how we can all see things differently.
I thought Aina did well, albeit a brief appearance.
Bakayoko for me still didn’t play in his favoured position but he did look laboured.
Jorginho looked very good and a snip.
Luiz always looks like a proper footballer but that’s never been in doubt.
Morata looked, I’m sorry to say, average.
Abraham looked ok.
Hudson Odoi could be anything and did everything he was asked.
Ampadu looks ok but just maybe needs to be loaned out for a season.
Musonda I’m still not sure about.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 16:08:03
I’m unsure on Musonda as well Tom, flashes of something good amongst trying too hard. If you look at him, 21 and Hudson Odoi, 17 you have to question whether Musonda has what it takes. I can see why we’re linked with Golovin and Bailey etc. But I’d be tempted to give Odoi a shot.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 17:22:20
I agree Dan. Hudson Odoi looks far more the finished article!

Whatever the club is doing, time is key. If ManU doesn't want to sell Martial- fine; move on to other targets. Personally, I don't know why Leon Bailey's name hasn't been mentioned but whatever the case is move on quickly to our targets.
The press is reporting Mourinho- saying, 'one doesn't always get what he wants'- I believe to Martial. (I guess ManU wants to play hardball with Martial but I guess they'll eventually get tired of the player) . In the meantime, Chelsea can't sit and wait for that moment when they get tired or we risk a lot. If Chelsea has done something about Martial transfer and there's still no breakthrough, move on.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

23 Jul 2018 16:36:40
id be all. over the bailey case been honest 60 plus for a 29 year old they should sell an buy a new talent.

23 Jul 2018 09:24:03
If Courtois is definitely off to Madrid is it worth trying for Navas do people think? I haven't seen much of him but he's meant to be very underrated. Also is he a Sarri keeper as in good enough with the ball?

23 Jul 2018 10:26:53

23 Jul 2018 08:01:34
Is that Sterling or Euros Magic? A Barcelona rag is reporting Chelsea won’t sell Willian!
It’s all just noise!
My guess is we will sell Willian and two or three other players but I have very little faith in the press in general and in particular the sports press.
Having said that, I do find myself getting excited when we are linked to what I consider to be a good player!
Should be good watching the Mighty Blues tonight in Perth.

23 Jul 2018 08:57:23
Doesnt matter what currency it is take it and run then go and get Bailey he’ll be perfect for RW. Martial would make a good striker but he’s more suited to the left wing if any.

Watching the 2012/ 13 pre season friendly against Malaysia xi and Lukaku and De Bruyne showed their quality. How on earth did we mess that up so badly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Jul 2018 06:09:53
I think that was the pre season Lukaku played most games and was also scoring goals. I remember being shocked when he left us on loan that year, thought he’d shown enough to be in the squad no matter how young he was.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 07:42:17
Standard, go and ask the arrogant one at MU. He will soon do a DeBruyne at MA with Martial. Regret his second coming. Salah, DeBruyne, Lukaku are not just coincidence. Would have lost Harzard if stayed on.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 09:40:39
I’m also sorry that this may be repetitive from me I promise to not make another post on it. Just shocking that we let them both go when they were absolute studs.

We move on, hopefully we pick up Martial.
