Guys how about Mikhitaryan taking Oscar's role. I personally think he would be better.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed018's Note - he is better than Oscar}

22 May 2016 21:49:34
So you want to spend at least 30 million on someone who's going to be a squad player? Oscar doesn't even start.

23 May 2016 04:22:56
Problem is we also have Fabregas, who is more successful deeper; however he is suspect defensively and doesn't cover much ground. This season has made it clear that our midfield sorely lacks an engine as long as Fabregas and a holding mid are included. This is the same issue I have with Pjanic from Roma.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Fabregas.}

23 May 2016 09:11:08
Just because Oscar isn't necessarily a starter doesn't mean Mkhitarian won't and also we need a full squad of good players who can deliver. Whilst I think selling Oscar could come back to bite us as he's clearly got the talent, I don't think we have much choice as he's failed to develop over the last 3 years in my opinion. I haven't seen much of Mkhitarian but his goals and assists record in both Germany and Ukraine is pretty impressive. I'm personally quite excited about the prospect of him signing. Does anybody know if he can play on the left or right though?

Agree0 Disagree2

23 May 2016 09:35:46
He can definitely play through the middle and on the right; haven't seem him on the left but see no reason why not.

22 May 2016 16:14:56
I'm obviously dreaming here but how good would it be if we could sign Dybala now that Griezmann's not coming. I know there's no interest although there was last summer but imagine playing him on the right as an inverted winger alongside Costa and Hazard. That would be frightening.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

22 May 2016 17:47:39
I also rate Dybala but it seems that Juventus is not ready to sell the player.

Agree2 Disagree4

22 May 2016 17:48:26
Not a chance that Dybala will be leaving Juve.

Agree2 Disagree5

23 May 2016 04:24:49
I would be shocked to see Dybala leave Juve for anyone other than Barcelona and Madrid. They're already almost certainly losing Moratta and Pogba and I don't see them moving their 3 biggest assets in 1 summer. He would be a nice addition though and reminds me a lot of Kun Aguero in his younger days.

So Guus has told a sports channel in Holland he is to stay on in an advisory capacity to help aide the progress of our youth. He also mentioned there being too many out on loan. Hope this means some of the talented kids get a chance!

He hardly gave a raft of chances to those in and around the squad during his time here. let's see what happens.

22 May 2016 18:43:39
Have to admit that was my first thought too mate!

Agree1 Disagree0

22 May 2016 23:57:42
He barely gave a chance for our kids when we had nothing to lose, he is as bad as Mourihno in developing kids.

It's easier said than done to cut down on our loan assortment. The club will look to move players on via sale however it's extremely difficult to find a club of interest to the player who is capable of meeting the players wage demands (which we inflate) and all the while affording a transfer fee. This is how Marko Marin has been tied to the club for 4 years when the club were looking to move him after 1.

22 May 2016 15:40:49
Ed any chance of a transfer update as a lot of our top targets look out of reach. After a dreadful season please give us hope and let us know the latest on transfers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No, it won't be happening.}

22 May 2016 15:21:13
According to the Ed025 on the Arsenal page we're very much favourites for Mkhitaryan. I just wonder where people see him fitting in if it goes through. Personally I don't think he's a player we need unless we sell Cesc. I'd prefer to see us sign a RW who can cut in on his left like Griezmann but that's not going to happen now. Mkhitaryan has a fantastic goals and assists record this year but I'm just unsure as to where he'll play.

22 May 2016 18:17:55
Munich,
He will fit in very nicely alongside Cazorla and Xhaka.

I'm like a jealous boyfriend, so hands off ok buddy :-)

22 May 2016 20:34:34
There is something u don't see very often Dags, the word "fit" in the same sentence as an Arsenal player, unfit and injured yes. Xhaka must have been attracted by spending half the season on the medical table. (If he joins) . Apparently FIFA 16 is teams made up of players who have been injured for more than 6 weeks, in the past year, and no one else. Arsenal have their usual first team squad, apart from cech, who still goes back to the Chelsea medical team if he has a niggle,

Agree0 Disagree1

22 May 2016 21:39:21
Lol Sid, i make you right mate.

Now he has signed for Arsenal, he will probably get injured at Euro's and be out for 8 months :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2016 07:21:45
No Xhaka isn't injury prone I believe. However, he will miss multiple games because of suspensions by picking up a lot of cards :-P
Fits in at Arsenal just fine haha.

Am I the only one happy that this site won't constantly be filled with Griezemann, Stones and Lukaku questions this summer? Good players but the repetition was boring.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

22 May 2016 09:05:32
Griezmann questions should be over now that he's about to sign a new contract according to Ed. I also believe Ed mentioned our interest in Stones has gone, so that should end those questions. That maybe leaves the Lukaku ones but I hope people on here read the posts and use the search engine as situations don't change every day.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 May 2016 10:37:20
Im with you guys on this one, j don't want to sound like I don't profit from Ed's replies and the genuine blues that actually ask reasonable questions, but I think people asking the same questions over and over again really does do my head in. I mean just scroll down a little the answers are all there.

Ps. Kinda socks we won't get Griezmann, don't care about Stones. Griezmann however would have been a really good signing now we have to keep Hazard and add someone as good, question is who?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 13:31:46
Well it seems we're after mkhityarian so him I suppose, he has been sensational at Dortmund this season he has a great eye for a through ball and not afraid to shoot from distance either, looks like he could provide the zip we've been lacking in attack.
Other than him it's a real shame about missing out on griezmann but at the moment there is no reason why he'd leave atletico especially for us.
I think that players of a similar calibere are reus, we've been linked with perisic, James and pastore but I like the look of moura.

Agree2 Disagree1

22 May 2016 15:55:21
I don't care about Stones either. He'll be a fine player under a better manager, but we've already got Zouma and Christensen as young CBs.
As you said, Eli, Griezmann would've been perfect and there aren't many attacking players better than him. Dybala would be a perfect alternative but he isn't going anywhere any time soon. I don't rate Mkhitaryan myself. I believe we need a player that can play out wide and beat a fullback with pace and/ or trickery. I don't believe Mkhitaryan is that guy. Bernardo Silva is a player I'd like, but I suppose we won't go after him. Not many quality wingers available that I know of.
Perisic is not good enough for us in my opinion, and James and Pastore are more central players (I'd like us to move away from a 4231 and I don't see where either of them would have a spot in a 433).

One thing is certain, I'll go crazy if Willian is still starting nearly every game for us next season. I've grown more and more frustrated with him over the past few weeks and I hope the club sells either him or Pedro (preferably Willian though) .

Agree1 Disagree2

22 May 2016 16:41:38
Looks like you will be going crazy then fella as Willian just happens to not only the fans player of the year but also the players player of the year.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 May 2016 18:07:16
Player of the season in a season we finished 10th. That says it all really. If he's the best performer again next season then that'll mean we'll have had another dreadful campaign.
Plus, Zouma would've definitely been my Player of the Season if he didn't pick up the injury.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed018's Note - exactly. We will be exactly were we are right now if he's the best player again next season}

22 May 2016 20:23:03
If he had the other players around him performing better we would of probably retained our title. The guy is a fantastic talent rated very highly by his fellow professional players who know a player when they see one. Conte will bring in the players and build the team around the truly quality players we already have which includes Willian. We will then challenge again. Mark my words and i shall remind you and any other Willian doubters next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - ok. Didn't realize scoring from a few free kicks, assisting on a couple goals and pretty much running around tirelessly makes a player a fanatastic talent. All sounds like a pretty average player to me}

23 May 2016 07:24:12
A guy like Hazard performs well and we're in contention. That's how you know Hazard is a top top player. Those are the ones we have to keep and attract to the club.
Willian is a decent player, and a very hardworking one. But his football IQ is low, and he slows our attack too much. I'd sell him and Oscar to raise funds and buy a top class player or 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2016 09:39:16
Sorry Edd 018 but Willian gives his all for the team. Whilst others (on occasion) may supply more, they don't "give" on a weekly basis, it's about the team and they're results. I feel Willian attempts to work and provide for the team whilst others don't, hence the dissjointedness (is that a word) from the rest of the squad. Leicester have proved this year that 11 players on the same page will defeat 11 paying for themselves and their contracts. Hopefully Conte will address this as our new manger.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - I didn't say he didn't nor did I say I want him sold but he's not a fantastic talent. That's pretty clear to see. He does play a part in the team and I appreciate the fact he gives it his all}

22 May 2016 02:45:49
A few, realistic signings I would make for the summer

Marquinhos
Bertrand
Vidal
Lukaku
Mkhitarian.

I'd love to see Bertrand back at the club. That in my opinion would be an excellent summer!

Absolutely.

22 May 2016 12:48:40
Bertrand coming back would surely send alarm bells to abramovich. Another player that given a opportunity could of solved our LB problem since Cole left. Good players are being identified by our scouts only to be left to rot either on the bench or in reserve team, to then be sold for what the club think is a good price, to finally end up returning for double what they sold them for.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Bertrand is not returning.}

23 May 2016 09:47:28
Bertrand will not come back, and in his shoes, would you? I think not. Regular starter vs mainly subs appearances behind a player out of position. I actually don't think he is Chelsea quality however he is better than Baba as a left back in EPL but still not in the same class as Dave.
