I was at the game and my view of it was that Hazard was sensational, he had a blinding game with some superb runs and skill. I felt Mikel was on and off, he would do something excellent and then mess up, it was a better performance, but would of preferred Oriol or Essien in there. Torres, was better than people are making out, the piece of skill in the first half was superb and if finished of would have been a an excellent goal. I do believe he needs to work on his lay offs but apart from that the signs are promising. Cahill and Hazard were the stars of the show for me.

Cahill impressed again. I would like to see, as the season progresses, a partnership between Luiz and Cahill being formed as i see these two as Chelsea's long term pairing. Terry is great in the air, but his pace at times is an issue. Maybe if Terry is to receive an 8 game ban from the FA this can be introduced. I have to say i was disappointed with Ivanovic, he had a few sloppy touches and wasn't great defensively, however he showed great determination to get forward for the goal, as he did for his first on sunday. Overall a good performance that was made to look worse by a breakaway goal and a strange goalkeeping error.

I don't disagree but he was at fault for the first goal, he failed to track the run, and let his striker get in front of him.
Yeah i noticed this too, but was not sure if it was Terry's fault, as he was basically in no mans land or Cahill's for not getting in front. The striker did well and sometimes you just have to write off these kind of goals.

If anyone wants some interesting stats and such, the site, 'whoscored' is a great resource.
Shows how we dominated possession, but were largely wasteful with shots. Also show that our left side is weak. Which is not surprising as both Mata and Hazard want to move behind Torres rather than stay on the flank, whereas Ramires sticks to his wing.

A bit suspect but he makes up for it with all his goals. Would love to see Cahill -terry in Defense with luiz sitting alongside Ramires in a pivot. Ramires hazard mata Oscar Marin Sturridge {Moses}, can all play in the 3 so all looks good. All we need is cavani to give Torres some competition and azpilicuetta for the same reason .

Anyone know if winning a penalty that is subsequently scored officially counts as an assist? On Sky Sport fantasy football they class it as an assist, however on ESPN, they don't. Hopefully they do as Hazard will already have an assist tally of 5 :) Early signs showing he is buy of the summer :)

It is officially recorded as an assist. Fantasy leagues may differ, but officially young Eden has 5 assists in 2 games from a total of 6 goals. Ha superb!

I thought we played really well.The pace was frantic and the approach play between Oscar,Mata,Hazard ,Torres and Sturridge was sometimes breathtaking.The rest of the team did very well except Cech horrible mistake.Hazard was brilliant,so was Mata.Torres had a mixed first half missed one good chance but had a very good of a second half .Lampard and Mikel had a good game ,overall a good attacking performance.We just need to panic a little less at the back.Promising signs ahead.Hope RDM plays this way in every game not just home games.

hazard looks like a superstar already and is only going to get get better. i even thought sturridge made a difference when he came on.
oscar also looking cool calm and collected on the ball, very nice to see....
above all else fernando on the score sheet.
although not a vitage performance, we got the job done.......

The lads showed true will to win today to come back from 1-2, I'm really liking that.
What a massive, massive player Hazard is going to be for us. Could have just blasted one in but opts to give it to Iva. Gets us another penalty. Pure class.
Torres' goal was obviously offside but whatever, we'll get our fair share of that throughout the season as well and I'm happy for the lad.
Ramires and perhaps Mata as well not completely fit.
I must say I'm really surprised by how well we're ALREADY doing on the attacking end with the new lads coming in. Attacking movement looks very fluent and secure. Hazard looks as if he's been playing in this league for years, so far.
Now fine-tune the defense a little bit and bring in Azpilicueta, Moses and Hulk and we are looking pretty good.

A little bit lucky maybe. But probably balances out. A good win & an improved performance by a number of players from the Wigan game. Thought we looked a lot better playing with one in the holding role. Probably should've started that way but to be fair the first 15 mins we looked awesome. Thought we dropped our heads a bit after their second goal & let them into the game but to be fair we stopped them from creating any real chances. If we can get a bit sharper with our passing & go in for the kill on teams after going ahead on games I think this could be a he'll of a season. Man of the match- no doubt Eden hazard!
Even though mikel had an ok game, how much better were we when he went off. meirelles gives the ball away too much he scares me. sturridge looked good to be fair. people mocking torres just because we was loseing are blatant persons. first of all ramires should have passed to him easy goal, ivanovic aswell. he was always in the right space, his hold up play and passing was alot better.

If it wasn't for Cech's clanger, would have been a comfortable game. Hazard looks very bright, Torres got a goal and did ok with the service he received.
Good to see positive substitutions too although credit to Mikel, his game was improved today.

not an amazing performance but we got the 3 points once again hazard was phenomenal defenders are going to struggle with him
i found torres frustrating up until he scored
sturridge was less selfish and tracked back although the fourth goal he would not of passed, even though i wanted hazard to cap his game with a goal just shows hes a true team man

What did torres do wrong? was it his fault rami was greedy & not pass to an open torres from 6 yards? the fact is torres was always in space.
I feel that last season when we went behind in a match, we never really looked like scoring, where as the team showed real character and dominated possession to get the 3 points, and of course hazard is incredible.
I think Torres had an ok game. 1st half good positioning, getting past players, passing and first touch but had a good chance to convert hazards cross. Second half good positioning but first touch was awful on most occasions. Overall a good game and hopefully will become his former self.

Sturridge played well tonight. His distribution was surprisingly good and his pace gave us another option other than play it through the middle. He made several successful dribbles and showed that he can fit our system if he choses to pass as much as he did tonight.

Very, very impressed with Mikel, looks like he wants to score, and showing attacking intent, like the player we signed him as...AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER, oscar on for mata, he looks totally dead out there.
For once hes not the worst player. Still has only made one attacking pass and one attacking run but baby steps i suppose. Mata and Ramires are not match fit
O come on do any of actualy analyze his whole game? his passing was alot better. his job though is DM which reading destroyed our midfield from 15-45. mikel was terrible at this point. And also isit a coincidence that we were free flowing when mikel went off!

How funny, in the 18th minute Hazard goes into the box gets taken down and gets a penalty. Lampard takes and goes into the back of the net... Where has that happend recently? I think when Hazard goes into the box these defenders just panic due to his skill and presence on the ball. So they opt just to take him down.

The way i look at it is yes we parked the bus BUT against barca that is the only tactic you can use to beat them. second leg we had no choice we had 10 men and bosingwa as a centre back, as for munich once again we had a weakened team due to suspensions and injuries so made the best of a bad situation and didnt we make the best of it :D
this season i wouldnt expect us to park the bus because we now have the attacking options to fight with not only barca but every team in europe

Ed18,what is your view on RDM persisting with Mikel and Lampard in the midfield?
roan {Ed018's Note - with Lampard declining slightly due to age and Mikel being a slightly above average player I do become a bit worried with this position. I would expect for RDM to rotate Essien, Ramires and Meireles (if he stays} with Lampard and Mikel. I just feel the biggest issue is how slow they play. That position needs a 25 year old Essien}
Yan M'vila would be perfect ED018 {Ed018's Note - I agree. I would like to see him at Chelsea but it doesn't look like that will happen}
I believe there are three players would would potentially improve our midfield,
Yann M'vila would be great imo, he is strong, quick and reads the game well. He is also very competent at turning defense into offense.
Fernando Reges would also be good, probably more athletic than Yann, but less good at dictating the play, his pure athleticism would help us dominate the middle of the park.
And Fellaini, he was fantastic last season, and showed what he can do against the top teams on Monday. He brings his own qualities to the table and imo could make a big impact, plus he is still young.
I would love to see any one of these three as i think they could slot into our midfield and help us dominate teams, as well as giving us pace in the middle to launch attacks.
I do not see us signing any of them allas.
I would like either m'villa or tiote in our midfield both would improve our midfield.

Look we all miss ED002, but clearly he doesn't miss us. ONE knob has a go at him and we all pay the price. For all we know it could have been a fan of a rival club that came on here to steer up trouble, but ED doesn't see it that way, I've been on the site with the likes of Melbourne, SHED , jono, JM10 and co. For over 2 years now, and though things have changed the site still rocks, we got ED018 who talks not only about transfers but also he gives his analysis on the games Chelsea plays . So I say again ED002 would be back, we have ED018 who is really cool as well and I'm pretty sure he would give us all the info we need in the last week of the transfer window.
So fret not , man-up and let's talk CHELSEA.
