Just wondering what other fans think on the potential sale of some of our players. I think the club has a huge chance to snap up some great players by offering them in exchange for others. I know these type of deals very rarely happen but could turn out to be very usefull and very much to our benefit. For example take david luiz (bayern, barca, psg all interested).
He only started a handfull of games and is not as good as cahill and terry in defence. Bayern have mandzukic or maybe gotze up for sale. Barca have fabregas/sanchez/pedro all possibly leaving. Psg have lavezzi/cavani or maybe lucas all available. Any of the above players would make our first team so maybe player plus cash for luiz would make sense. There has also been talk of oscar moving on, which I cannot see happening but again similar teams would be interested with maybe real madrid also interested, who again who have khedria and di maria available. Our team not only lacks a top goalscorer but real width. How many times do we see ivanovic having to try and cross the ball into the box because ramires or schurlle have moved into more suited central roles. We need a top right sided player who has decent pace and move back to 4-3-3. My two choices for each position I believe we need to strengthen are:
Striker: cavani or costa with lukaku returning from loan also using schurlle as 3rd striker if needed.
Right wing: di maria, alexis sanchez, lucas or james rodriguez. players who would add pace and goals to the team.
Central midfield: Rakitic, fabregas or kroos.
Left back: give cole a new contract or get luke shaw before utd do. The lad is only 18 and already a huge talent. We will regret this one if utd do get him.
I understand this is not fifa on playstation but with the sale of a few let's say fringe players I think its possible to purchase 4 of these players and stay in with FFP rules.

Agree on some of your points. I think Fabregas would be great, and if we can get a deal we should definitely go for him. He and sanchez should be targets hope we go for both of them. On the oscar front though I think he must stay. I think he could turn out to be one of the best players in the world in 4-5 years so we have to keep him.

In general I fully agree with you. Due FFP PSG &Man.City can't spend as they use to. Barcelona is limited as well. Only big spenders are Real Madrid, Man.Utd and Bayern. With exchange deals Chelsea could get Fabregas and Cavani. Chelsea should grab Shaw and Barkley with some Chelsea players going in opposite direction. As far as heard Rakitic is.reluctant to leave Spain. Due to FFP many clubs will be forced to exchange players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas next to matic would be unreal, I haven't seen enough of rakitic to comment, Fabregas has it all, energy tackles knows the prem loves a
Pass can play that killer pass and score goals,, would never join Chelsea plus we are not interested apparently. Same as Kroos. Why the hell are we not all over that deal. Ramires is a
Good squad player but his shooting and passing frustrating, maybe best to cash in, same with mikel, kakuta, Ba, Torres, Moses,

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt a RW would be bought unless we sell one of our current AM's. I think we'll look to bring in two strikers with one of them possibly being more like Lavezzi/Callejon. Capable of playing upfront but played more out wide. Kroos would be my preference at CM but we're not in for him. Not seen much of Rakitic but Balague has put him La Liga team of the year and he's attracted enough interest from big teams so I'd be happy for him to come in. We could also offer Marin in part- exchange.
At left back Shaw would obviously be the stand-out due to being HG but Moreno is a good option.
As much as I love Ramires due to his boundless energy, this last year he's gone backwards. Committing more fouls and scoring less goals. His passing is still poor and shooting the same.

Agree0 Disagree0

A good point, with FFP some potential transfer dealings are begining to resemble a game of FIFA. It whets my appetite thinking of clubs' interest in players I'd be satisied to move on, and the players we could get in exchange;
Torres (Athletico Madrid - Costa, Koke)
Luiz (PSG - Lucas, Cavani; Barce - Fabregas)
Lukaku (Everton, Barkley).

Potentially we could solve our squad needs spending as little as 10-20 million, leaving further sales and FFP leniency to fund moves for prospects such as Shaw (MUST JOIN US OVER Man Utd!)

Agree0 Disagree0

I keep getting confused with people referring to lavezzi as a striker. Schurrle is more of a striker than him. Somebody like remy or aubamayang would be someone who would fit the criteria of a striker who could play wide.

Hey ed, it's seems cesc fabregas is surplus to Barca's needs now. Any chance we'd put in a bid seeing our lack of a true #10? Could also be the deep playmaker we need. Just a thought, I could be 100% in la la land though. Cheers.
