Why when people put down there probable line ups do they include Lukaku in midfield or in a right/left forward role??? The lad is 18 and built like a brick sh*thouse, the only role he can possibly play for us is the main striker up front due to him being a younger version of Didier. Also, next season Lampard should be used in somewhat the same capacity as Scholes was at United, he should be there to provide experience for the younger ones, not used as our main midfielder because the fact is he isn't our best midfielder anymore (he is a legend and always will be i must add). We should be looking at the following:
Main Signings - Neymar (we need a flair player who is not afraid to try tricks)
Pastore/Modric/Sneijder - I would love to sign 2 but it is unlikely. We need a quality CM who can dictate and create, we have the grafters and defensive midfielders already (i.e. Essien, Ramires, Mikel)
VDW - We need an Ashley Cole on the right to support the attack, although if Luiz plays more and keeps diving in then i would rather Brana play due to his defensive capabilities.
Aguero/Falcao/Hulk - in that order, all quality strikers and different to each other, but Aguero just edges for me, technically quality, class act and offers more overall than Falcao and Hulk, he could produce the through balls for Nando aswell as our CMs, more so than Falcao and Hulk.
Future Stars - Lukaku (his physical presence will only get bigger, world class chelsea coaches will improve him overall aswell) , Erikssen (when he fills out he could be a future star for us), Taarabat (the quality and confidence that you need to play at the top level are there in abundance, would be a fantastic singing for us long term, game changer)
Dream Signings but never gonna happen - Sanchez (balance, pace, power etc. the list goes on, will be up there just behind Ronaldo and Messi in a few years), Fabregas (Obvious reasons), Titus Bramble (world class defender, technical ability is unmatched. Sorry couldn't resist haha)
Bad signings - Villa (too old now), Eljero Elia (another Kalou), De Bruyne (not good enough, Belgian version of David Bentley from what i have seen).

Next season we should be looking along the lines of this: 4-3-3
Cech, VDW, Terry, Luiz, Cole
Ramires, Essien, Pastore/Modric
Neymar, Torres, Aguero

We would win the league, but with AVB as manager then i honestly do not know who could beat us?? Barca......maybe?
We should get rid of Ferreira, Anelka, Malouda (PLEASE!), Drogba (PLEASE! too big a personality, we need Nando to be our main striker), Kalou (tries hard but not good enough), Mikel and maybe Zhirkov, although he's been unlucky.
Josh Mceachran should be sent out on loan, in a few years we could have a world class player on our hands if we look after him right.
If anyone disagrees or I have forgotten anything then please message back.

Finally - someone with a brain has posted his lineup!

Agree7 Disagree0

I think everyone has gone mad here and thinks they are playing fantasy football.

Drogba had malaria last season and one must understand the reality of such a condition.

I am a season ticket holder and it was quite obvious that Italian football is too different. We won the double by accident the previous year as the useless Mikel got injured and Ballack of all players played a passing DMC role which fed the quick passing football to create chances.

Fact: Drogba is not finished
Lampard looked sluggish after being injured for most of the season, but still scored 10 goals.
There are a few to sell including Mikel who simply can't pass the ball expect backwards or 5 yards.

We need a manager with the understanding of real tactics and can complete in the PL against the negative sides.

AVB is a great choice and I hope to bring 3 new faces into the side, but PLEASE stop playing fantasy football and understand the real football world.

Agree0 Disagree6

The real football world, where a £13.3 million pound release clause is paid for a manager?

I agree that Lampard and Drogba can still perform at this level, but not for long. Lampard will still be a regular starter, however, even if Drogba does stay he will not.

With the imminent unavailing of AVB I expect a busy summer transfer window. Hopefully our main targets (Neymar, Modric, VDW) will arrive. But don't expect that to be the only incoming business.

I could be wrong, but 3 players seems a little on the low side to me. That doesn't make it 'fantasy football'. Our squad needs rejuvenation, youthful talent! Not a complete overhaul, but if the right players are available at the right price then I expect a large amount of business to be done.

I am eagerly anticipating the next few months!

Agree6 Disagree1

I love these so-called "true" Chelsea supporters who spout off that they're season ticket holders - translation: "I sat in Stamford Bridge, so what I proclaim shall be gospel, and everyone else who disagrees with me is a delusional fantasy football obsessive." So what if the original poster wants to dream! At least he placed players in their correct positions (which is more than I can say for everyone else who posts here) and is astute enough to point out where our problems lay last season, unlike most homer kool-aid drinking supporters who want to hoard players until they're 40 just because they had some good seasons when they were in their mid 20's.

"There are a few to sell including Mikel who simply can't pass the ball expect backwards or 5 yards."

Get real. Passing is one of Mikel's strengths, and you've obviously not watched many Chelsea matches on television (let alone in person) if you think that he can't pass. On his worst day he passed better than Essien did last season. It was a miracle if Michael passed it to a blue shirt (and he's my favorite player!). Of course you'll make an excuse up for him as well. If you want to fault Mikel for something

Fact: Drogba may not be finished, but he's almost there. And his attitude of entitlement at the club is a major problem, along with his partners in crime Maloser and Kalouless. If someone is stupid enough to pay decent money for him, I say take it! If anyone is willing to give us a bag of rocks for the other two, take it with no questions asked!

Agree4 Disagree1

I have supported Chelsea for 28 years and have been a ticket for 10 years and if you dare state that Mikel's strength is passing then you obviously know nothing about sport or football !! Mikel is a donkey !

Agree1 Disagree4

Original Poster here.

The season ticket holder for Chels who replied stating something about me living in a fantasy football world? why is that? As i make it everything i said was more than realistic, it was fact. What part of my 'Fantasy Football' post did you strongly disagree with?
"Fact: Drogba is not finished"??? Where did i state he was finished???

Reply Please.
Thankyou

Agree3 Disagree0

Supported for 28 years? Haha! A bit hard since you're probably only 16.

This is the anonymous internet buddy, anyone can state that they've held season tickets or have supported a club for XX amount of years. Odds are, you started supporting Chelsea in 2004.

Mikel is no donkey. His only crime is that sometimes he appears to lose focus and make the random lazy pass. For the most part his forwards passes find a Chelsea player. I don't get where you claim that he constantly back passes. Maybe you're thinking of John Terry?

OP, please don't ask him to reply. He's just another one of those pasty, fat, friendless teenage boys who you always run into in football forums. They espouse the status quo (when all is crumbling around them) thrive on mediocrity and steadfastly survive on past history. If he was on our beloved Chelsea's board, we'd keep every player over 30 until they leave on a free transfer, just because they had one good season 3 years ago.

moutinhio lampard

lukaku toress hulk

Believable0 Unbelievable10

Cech
VDW - Luiz - Terry - Cole
Essien
Ramires - Moutinho/Lampard/Mceachran
Pastore
Falcao - Torres

Agree0 Disagree9

This "toress" guy who keeps posting his stupid lineups is getting really annoying. No one else here spells Torres' name wrong, so it must be the same dolt who spams 3-4 times a week. {Ed018's Note - forget the misspelling, where does anyone come up with lukaku playing on the wing}

Agree8 Disagree0

Haha true. Though I'm pretty sure that "Toress Guy" had Neymar in the midfield in one of his delusional lineups.

Agree7 Disagree0

Will the team still be built around Torres ED018 {Ed018's Note - well they are certainly not gonna give up on Torres. they will bring in the best players they can for the type of system they want to play. and we all kmow what areas are lacking. with Villas Boas certainly coming in, he likes to play a 4-3-3. and he likes to attack}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Good stuff Torres wil no dount be back next year Boas brings the best out of his players personally i would love a front 3 of Neymar Torres and Hulk with Modric Lampard and Essien

Agree3 Disagree0

Who was 3rd striker with Falcao&Hulk at Porto? {Ed018's Note - Valera}

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes Varela. I think there is excellent midfielder Guarin or something like that.

Agree1 Disagree0

Are you thinking of Moutinho? Guarin is good as well.

ED018 Do you think we need to play both Ramires and Essien in the middle of the park excellent defensively but both dont offer much up top? {Ed018's Note - i think alot of it depends on if essien returns the form he had prior to his injuries. but that could be an interesting issue because i believe ramires is the new essien}

ed, u said that there will be news regarding neymar in early this week... are u still thinking this? can you give us any news on the story now maybe? {Ed018's Note - there is no news at this time}

21 Jun 2011 21:12:20
ED018 will the transfer targets change now AVB will be in charge Falcao seem very keen to follow him Moutinho has been linked also But do the main targets still remain Van der wiel Modric/pastore Neymar.? {Ed018's Note - for now yes. it could very well change though

Believable1 Unbelievable1

ED002 has said chelsea have a lot of advisors i think AVB will be allowed to choose some of the players bought in But i think Neymar Van der wiel Modric are the main targets and will stay that way

Ed, will Hiddink be the director of football with Andre Villas-Boas as coach?thank you ed {Ed018's Note - that is the plan}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Are you sure that's the plan?

I've got a feeling Hiddink will remain as an unpaid advisor. {Ed018's Note - as of right now thats what Chelsea would like. Its possible for Hiddink to change his mind. he also may see out the Euro qualifying process before making a change

if villas boas becomes boss, which is highly likely, is there any truth in falcao or hulk following? {Ed018's Note - if villas boas has a say im sure he would like to bring one of the two.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Would prefer Hulk over Falcao, he's able to play in a variety of positions.

Agree0 Disagree3

Falcao is a class act though 73 goals in 85 games since moving to Porto!

Agree3 Disagree0

Yes, but he played in Portuguese league.

Agree0 Disagree3

"Yes, but he player in Portuguese league"

Lame... So since Ramires, David Luiz, Carvalho, Bosingwa, Paulo Ferreira, and Deco played in the Primeira Liga, they aren't/weren't good enough for Chelsea either?

Plus, there have been other players who have come from so-called "lesser" leagues in France and Holland who have went on to star in Italy, Spain, and England.

Ed will Chelsea get sibling this year or any other centre backs? {Ed018's Note - who is sibling

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Hahaha! Sibling? Do David Luiz or Terry have a brother who plays center back?

Maybe he meant Subotic?

apperantly ac milan have made a formal approach to chelsea for didier drgoba. is there any truth in this Ed?? {Ed002's Note - I really cannot possibly respond to every rumour you read on the internet.}

Drogba will stay in CFC.

(corbzer) ok first off barca wont sell villa one of there top players why simple cus fabergas has said he aint leaviong arsenal for barca as he aint ready and is not going to damage arsenal in any wasy as he wants to leave on good terms. why would barca let villa go and then turn around and buy fabergas when he stated he is not leavong. if barca do that I want to know who is incharge of there transfers. As much as I like villa he is a brillant player but coming to chelsea I dont see happening.

the transfers I see that are going to happen are Modric ageuro Lukaku and vdw

possible signings neymar sneijder Pastore

rubbish rumours that could happen but I highly doubt are true are eto and villa comming to chelsea

next manager I think will be the Villa Boas and hiddink to take a sporting director role

line up next season

Goalkeeper cech
defenders vdw Luiz terry cole
midfield modric essien lampard Lukaku
strikers drogba toress pastore

as much as I want villa and eto to come to chelsea I dont see it happening aand man city have all the cash right now as they are the richest club in the world

CHELSEA FOR LIFE

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Good luck trying to play with 12 players

Agree12 Disagree0

Luaku is striker.

Agree11 Disagree0

Yeah, the credibility of his post is lost when he places Lukaku in the midfield. It's also not hard to predict transfers when you list the same old names we've seen linked to us in the tabloids since the end of the season.

"next manager I think will be the Villa Boas"

Haha real brave prediction there mate - haven't been keeping up with the latest news, eh? That's akin to predicting that grass is green. And it's spelled Villas-boas... he's a man, not a "the".

david villa is not going to chelsea he is getting on he loves life in spain and why would some one of his talent want to leave barca when he knows he will be in a team contending for every think every year. i dont support chelsea but if you want to progerss you will need to bring in some one like higuien of aguero to sit behind torres (scum) to help him out. and you need to look for replaciments for terry and lamps players that are young and have ability like united have done with smalling an jones need to think of the future.

JG

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Torres is not spam he is one of the best players in the world. And yes he can play with Villa, but I am quite confident that is not selling Villa.

Agree6 Disagree1

Villa back to Valencia for Mata - if City hijack Sanchez. They are def looking to offload Villa.

Agree0 Disagree5

JG - thank you for your concern. Now go back to your own forum, ya scum.

Ed im really worried with some of the players linked in with the club at the moment, weve dropped from hiddink as our manager with signings such as modric aguero neymar kaka and mata to a 35 year old pretty much same age as the players who won a european trophy with Porto who is willing to bring players such as falcao and hulk along with players such as taraabt for me this a MASSIVE step down. Weve seen it before in that the players with the manager thing doesnt work ( deco ferriera queresma) so please tell me that hiddink will join and we wont sign taraabt i mean he didnt even get into the spurs reserve team it would be an insult to sign him. Also how close are we to signing the following players as you never really say!!:
Pastore
Aguero
Neymar
Modric
Mata
Villa ?? {Ed001's Note - are you really trying to tell me you are disappointed with AVB? Probably the best young manager in the game and you are moaning about it?}

Believable1 Unbelievable7

OBVIOUSLY NEVER WATCH UEFA CUP MATCHES FALCAO AND HULK ARE AMAZING TALENTS INSTEAD OF PASTORE AT 50MILLION AND NEYMAR AT 45MILLION AND NEVER EVEN PLAYED OUT OF BRAZIL

Villas-Boas' contract will only be for one year. Everybody knows that he will be sacked at the end of the season as is Chelsea's way.

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Carlo lasted rather alot long I.E a full season!
Also Mouriniho lasted a full season and few months after his 1st season.

Agree6 Disagree0

Mourinho would probably still be here if he wasn't so controversial and always getting fined for opening his yap!

Ahh another new manager , dont like all this changing of managers at Chelsea, im thinking Scolari all over again, lets hope this works out ,
Looks like Modric is goin to jion us , as long as we can tempt Spurs with a nice bid..to be hionest looks like we, ll have to offer 30 mill At least
Expect at least 4 big signings now we have a new manager

ed it is official villas boas is our new manager

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Supply a link please. Until Chelsea reports this news on it's official website I'll not believe it.

Agree3 Disagree0

With chelsea not having met the buy out clause i find this info highly unlikly its official.no doubt it will go through though and then maybe things can start to be sorted out with regards to players.

Agree2 Disagree0

That hasnt been confirmed yet anyone chelsea still dont have a manager as chelsea are negotating wether or not to pay the 15m release clause for Villa Boas
