Bit late, but wanted to share my point of view.

If you look back at my posts over the season you'll see that, as much as I'd hoped he would sort things out, I thought moving on from Mourinho was the right thing to do.

You can argue about the mercenary nature of players, who didn't show up until he left but, at the end of the day, players performing is what makes a club. If it took, the legend that is, Mourinho leaving to improve performances and results then that's what needed to happen.

I understand the singing of his name etc. but I'm not a Jose Mourinho fan - I'm a Chelsea Football Club fan. What's good for the club is good for me - like it or hate it, letting go of Mourinho was right for the club. G.

I would of preferred Jose to stay as he aswell as the likes of lampard, drogba etc has a place in the hearts of every Chelsea fan. But having said this I do believe the club made the right decision as the club had become a hate figure as such with Jose thinking the whole world was against us. The problem we have now is who will take over as I believe guardiola is already on his way to city, klopp already at Liverpool. I was one who loved the idea of Jose coming back but even from day one, he looked like he had lost that hunger he had before. I'm sure Jose will get a top top at Utd, PSG or even back at Madrid but I think if guardiola has still not decided where to manage then the club should do everything they can to bring him to Chelsea. Guardiola would be my first choice then simeone. Either one would be a step in the right direction for different reasons.

Hi Ed

Not sure if you are going to answer this or not but here it goes.

Who would you like to see as next Chelsea manager?

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

{Ed002's Note - There are a number of managers with growing or well respected reputations that I can should be being considered by any "major" club looking for a new coach or manager. I am very pleased that Guus Hiddink is back for a while - and it is a pity his age curtails his stay. Normally I would avoid naming names but given that it is the solstice, as a special treat I will. One real standout right now is Italian Roberto Stellone of Frosinone. Another is German Roger Schmidt of Bayer Leverkusen. I would be happy with either.

I would also note a few others. In France, Guingamp coach Jocelyn Gourvennec is someone to keep an eye on; Willy Sagnol has his supporters as well. Spain, the stand out attracting attention is Diego Simeone but he doesn't speak English. I would also not be surprised if Julen Lopetegui and Leonardo Jardim don't get noticed by some of the very high end clubs in the not too distant future.}

Awesome that you mentioned Roger Schmidt, Ed002! :) He's come to my attention last week and I think he'd be a very interesting appointment as manager.
It's great to read your opinion for once, Ed. I think I speak for everyone when I say yours is held in very high regard. So thank you ;-)

I would be dissapointed with Simeone. Not his biggest fan.

I'm not a huge fan of Simeone either.

However for them to make the decision to go there separate ways with Mourinho they must be confident of landing a successful appointment.

Barring Guardiola I don't think there's to many managers that would seriously excite CFC fans. (who are available)

I would be happy with Low (german national team coach) . Guardiola, Simeone are the obvious favourites of everyone.

Anyway what about bayern leverkusen coach? Or the worlfsburg one? (Cant remember their surnames rght now) .

Also I don't know if this would work but letting some english manager to take our team forward. Pardew?

That is very interesting Ed002, the plot thickens! Thanks very much for everything this year, your information is always top notch, have a merry christmas and a happy new year!

{Ed002's Note - You are seeing a plot that really doesn't exist. The situation is simple; but at the same time complicated. There will be hints, but probably no clues.}
