{Ed018's Note - sorry I was busy with a thing called life there for a bit}

20 Aug 2015 23:59:46
Sorry ed, didn't Intend to come across like that just really wanted to see if someone wrote a write up on Xhaka.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - no worries. I'm constantly checking to get posts up but I had something going on where I couldn't get on my phone for a few hours}

21 Aug 2015 09:47:05
Incredibly selfish on your part Ed. Disgusted that you think it's ok for you to 'have a life'. So self centered.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed018's Note - forgive me, it won't happen again}

20 Aug 2015 21:28:48
Completely irrelevant but shows how players can devalue in a year of so.

We were linked with him last for 20mill now look-
Mattia Destro after Roma announced the striker has joined Bologna for a fee of €6.5m.

The fee could rise by another €5m

See wht one crap season can do

That is very interesting , only 6 million!

Hey Eds,

Realistically, how many more signings do you think we will make this window? And how many sales?

Thanks.

If anyone wants a write up on any players we have been linked with, comment them below. Am already doing Xhaka for Jackson and that'll be up around tomorrow or Saturday!

Even though I watch a lot of him, being my favorite player, would like your opinion on Thomas Muller!

Thanks mate!

20 Aug 2015 23:17:15
I will love doing Müller, I rate him very very very highly- despite him nearly wrecking our CL dreams!

Andre Gomes or Xhaka would be great pal.

Pep Guardiola (when Barca manager) : "He is a role model. If Pedro was Brazilian, he'd be called Pedrinho and we wouldn't have enough money to afford him."

I'm just thinking about if we switched back to a midfield 3 again in the future. It's always nice to have that player who is good defensively and has a great shot from outside of the box who could make a balanced three alongside Matic and Fabregas. Obviously Pogba stands out although the price is really steep for me. Witsel is a box to box physical presence but I've never seen his shooting. Jackson, I remember when you mentioned Granit Xhaka some time ago and I just wondered if anyone had any information on what he's like because if he's like Pogba but cheaper and hasn't gained the stardom yet it could be a great option. There is a video on YouTube of his 5 best long range goals which is quite something but I can't really have a proper opinion on him till I've watched him properly which I haven't yet. Andre Gomes is another great option but he's just signed for Valencia so that won't happen this window. I'm hoping Loftus-Cheek get most of the Capital One Cup games and FA Cup games to give him gametime also. Xhaka is only 22 but I was just wondering if and if the Ed's or someone who watches Bundesliga could give me a better vow on him please.

I'll do a full Xhaka write-up later, but yes he is an immense player.

20 Aug 2015 19:38:18
Cheers CFC! :-)
I haven't watched Xhaka all that often, but a couple games here and there. I'd say he's far more defensive than Pogba and offensively less talented without question. But perhaps wait for his write up, it'll probably be a lot better than what I'd be able to provide ;-)
Andre Gomes would remain my 1st choice though, even above Pogba.

Gomes is a fantastic player Jackson it's just I seem to like Xhaka abit more due to his shooting ability. He's apparently meant to be an all action midfielder with a great long range shot abit like a white Essien. That's what I would like about him in a 4-3-3 he could be perfect in the big or even small games because his shooting from outside the box would give us an extra dimension. Xhaka and Fabregas either side of Matic could be a great balance for us.

Ed you said yesterday you didn't have time to find out about the rumours regarding pogba did you hear any update today on wether we are going to bid or anything

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed018's Note - nope}

20 Aug 2015 17:14:14
Fair enough it does seem like after a quite summer the board realise we need more I'm personally happy with pedro what about u ed? I still think there is a big deal or 2 for us

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed018's Note - it's a good signing. He should be an upgrade on Willian. I still would've preferred Griezmann or Reus}

20 Aug 2015 19:26:43
Ya and there both younger aswell obviously if either was possible Chelsea would have pursued. I'm surprised to be honest how many fans are saying pedro isn't a good signing I honestly think he is highly underrated he has a fantastic goal record for a winger I think hel chip in with 15-20 goals a season I still think we're a good midfielder away from defending the title we need a superstar like pogba to partner matic how awesome would that be as a pairing

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 19:27:20
Wel probably end up getting stones sooner or later aswell as Terry's replacement I think he and zouma will be sensational to be honest

20 Aug 2015 14:17:36
Hi eds
Was wondering if there were any updates and whether we were still keen on griezmann. Also do you know if any truth in the pogba rumours

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed018's Note - don't you ask this every day? They remain interested in both and if you believe the rumours they must be interested in Martial}

20 Aug 2015 13:14:38
Just hope Pedro can play exactly how he played for Barca. High pressing attacking football.

His record isn't bad either.

The Canary Islander leaves the club are playing a part in both trebles and scoring 99 goals in 321 games

Hes also has bags of experience and trophies. from the world cup and 3 x champions leagues.

Just hope it works out. seriously can't be worse than cuadrado.

20 Aug 2015 16:40:10
So unimpressed by this deal. I wanted him to join United so we could get someone better. I hope he makes me eat my words but I think he'll prove to be a bad buy.
Rumours of Martial today and if true I'd have just gone for Martial right away and left Pedro for United.

20 Aug 2015 17:12:57
Give the man a chance!
U can't rely on 19 year old.

Pedro brings good footvall and bags of experience. 21 mill is.a bargin theses days

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 17:17:29
Pedro 21.4mill everything he has achieved or 50+ mill for De Buryne?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 17:44:33
I definitely wouldn't pay that much for KDB myself. I'm a bit cautious as to how good he'll be in a team full of attacking stars. And I agree that 21 million for Pedro isn't that much. But I just feel like he'll be another average winger for us. I share Ed001's opinion on Pedro. If you look for it on our page or United's I'm pretty sure you'll find it if you're curious :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 17:57:21
Jackson - in the last couple of years we've lost Cole, Lampard, Drogba & Cech. If you want to win titles then we need Championship know how in the squad. Pedro offers that and a hell of a lot more for £21m! Who else could we buy for that money?

The rumours around this boy from Monaco are ridiculous! How much for a 19 year old?

At least two more will arrive and the team will have more ballance!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 19:42:50
Thank you J the point I'm trying to put across! Look how much city are willing to pay for kdb . The guy has only had one good season at a decent level.
In.pedro we have a guy tht has won everything!

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Aug 2015 09:56:07
Okay, I like that Pedro signed for us. However just to play devil's advocate, the fact that he's won everything doesn't exactly mean that he's going to be a fantastic player. I mean, look at Mikel. He's won everything but I don't see anyone queuing up to take him off our hands for 5mil let alone 21mil. Not to mention Fereira before we finally got rid of him.

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Pedro from Barcelona.

The Spaniard arrives as a highly coveted winger who can also play as a central striker. He is proven at the very highest level and already possesses an impressive medal haul.

The 28-year-old has accumulated three Champions Leagues and five La Liga titles, as well as being a world and European champion on the international stage.

He said: 'I am very happy to be here. I am very excited to start my adventure at Chelsea and I am here to keep winning titles.

'Thanks to the club and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to put the blue shirt on.'

City sign Otamendi. They don't stop strengthening. If they manage to sign Kevin De Bryune, they will be quite something

Believable1 Unbelievable2

20 Aug 2015 11:23:40
Not quite something. They will be a huge thing after the KDB deal.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed018's Note - clear favorites to win the league if they bring in De Bruyne unless Chelsea can continue to strengthen}

20 Aug 2015 11:47:16
That's true Daton! Thunderous. I feel they'll push for UCL as well. With or WITHOUT KDB

Agree0 Disagree2

20 Aug 2015 12:29:26
Can u see us strengthening further ed?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed018's Note - yes}

20 Aug 2015 12:50:45
I have asked this before but how are City spending so much and staying within FFP rules?

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Aug 2015 13:49:14
Im a Chelsea fan but I have to admit that if City keep investing that much in the transfer market this year and those recent years, they deserve to win the league.

I think of course there will be suspicion toward the money they spent. But they just need to upgrade the contract for shirt sponsor ship, stadium name, training ground name of Etihad group and other suspicious sponsorship that can't proved to link to the owners.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Aug 2015 14:33:23
Teams don't deserve to win titles because of how much money they spend mate neither does shirt sponsorships. all down to what they do on the pitch

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Aug 2015 15:48:45
They bought dozen of players - some were lots of failure but there are some turned out to be like Silva, Kolarov, Toure, Aguero, Fenandinho. And they keep investing to find out more talent players. So I think it quite called deserve.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Aug 2015 16:41:18
City have assembled a very good team right now and should be favourites for the title. Excellent for us as we seem to relish the underdog role :-)

Ed001, Hazard or Neymar?

Neymar for me

Other opinions welcome!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I am really torn on this. Neymar has the edge on skill, but Hazard has more of a cutting edge, less showy but more effect on a game at times. When Neymar is on his game he is better, but he is more inconsistent. I would slightly edge towards Neymar on the basis he has more potential.}

20 Aug 2015 09:35:20
I'd go with Hazard on this one. I just think the Premier League is a tougher competition for guys like him and Neymar. Plus, Neymar is playing with Messi and thus isn't the focal point of defenses. I think Hazard's defensive game is also better than Neymar's, though I'm not sure on that one.
Neymar indeed has more skill, but Hazard doesn't seem to need it as he simply glides past people. Neymar also is a better scorer.
Obviously they're both ridiculously talented, but if offered a straight swap between the 2, I'd stick with Hazard.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - I did think that about Neymar and Messi, but he actually plays better for Brazil at times, so I don't think being the focus is a problem for him.}

20 Aug 2015 09:37:18
But us all supporting cfc in the premiership Hazard all day long.
More strength and know where to put his body and now he is a far much better team player.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2015 10:24:56
I always thought the same lads

Though last year I saw Neymar got 41 goals in 45 appearances with 8 assists. Ridiculous numbers.

I know stats don't show the whole story but do think Meymar is superior

Thanks guys

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Aug 2015 16:42:38
Yeah, that's true Ed001. You got me on that one :-)
Btw, quick question for you Ed001. You know anything about possible interest in Martial? From Chelsea or anyone else?
Cheers mate

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't mate, Ed018 was just asking about it, but I don't know about Chelsea's interest. I know Newcastle were put off by his asking price and Spurs were interested but have done nothing about it but that is all I know of him, sorry.}

20 Aug 2015 17:45:55
Oh no worries Ed001. I just thought that since you were answering some questions on here that I'd make the most of it as you're not a regular Ed on here :-)
Thanks anyways.
