We have all heard the saying what roman wants roman gets.Mourinho,premier league title,ancellotti,champions league,Torres,shevchenko.Looking solid for hazard,hulk,Marin,VDW and could he pull off a shock bringing guardiola to the bridge.I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.Its Chelsea's time to take world football by storm starting with super cup,world club cup,premier league,champions league.I can dream but roman can make it possible.Be afraid,be very afraid

just an opinion but everyones saying they dont want hazard moura hulk etc all at the club along with mata torres etc but surely getting all this talent coming to our club is going to get them all playing well to fight for there place in the starting 11

I think they could fit at home games defensive midfielders at home shouldn't happen personally

Yer thats true or maybe just have one holding midfield player but even so get them fighting for there place

I dont like posts that give "fantasy" new teams with no/little factual backing or regards to cost, or players we already have (many such teams assume players will go when we there under contract - but we cant force them out) - but wanted to put something down regards future transfers this window. Not so much names, but which positions we need and why.

Its fair to assume (at least until we get a new manager announced) we will play 4-2-3-1, so Ill deal with these.

Firstly the 3-1

Its fair to assume that De-Byrne, Lukaku and Piason (excuse any spelling issues - Im rubbish) will go on loan. That leaves Torres up front, Mata and Marin for the left birth, Hazzard in the centre, with Hulk and Sturridge on the right. That is a very fluid set of players and I dont expect any of them to stick ridgidly to their spots, and there to be a lot of switching (left/centre and right/striker particularly). Assuming 2 players for every position is the ideal, it leaves us 2 short - HOWEVER, we still have Malouda for left/central, Ramires has prooved capable on the right, Bertrund played on the left and we dont know whats happening with Kakuta so I dont really see the need for any more buys here. The only possibility is an out and out striker IF we cant trust Torres to be the main man OR we get a top quality player at a great price. If Kakuta CAN make it - then he can cover Hulk on the right side and Sturridge would be the option up front anyway.

So - the "2". I really dont see the need for any players here - especially given the cost of those already bought (provided they do complete). We have Ramires and Lampard as first choice, and even if Ramires is covering the right, and Lampard needs a rest - AND if both Josh and Romeu are on loan (probably not Romeu) we still have Essien, Mikel and Mereiles - with Luiz capable of covering as well I think. IF we loose one or two of those AND both Josh and Romeu go on lone I guess we could use one player here - but I dont see that happening.

So - the back 4. Cole and Bertrund on th left of course with Terry, Cahill and Luiz in the centre. Ivan also wants to play there and only cover rightback - so I dont see any more comming in here BUT we do NEED a right back. If Ivan is the only real option here he may well leave (he may go anyway) so I see that position as a priority.

Not going to touch the keeping - were sorted there.

So - to sum up. Provided Marin, Hazzard and Hulk complete as expected i only see a right back as a definate requirement to add, with a central striker if the right player at the right price comes allong. The only other buys would be if we loose player in the deeper mid role, if Ivan goes - where we may need 2 right backs (a main and a cover) OR if we get a major injury before the window shuts to one of the main players (current or new).

Mata behind Torres and hazard on the wing

Ideally yes - BUT - Hazzard wants to play behind the striker - and is/was one of the caveats of signing for a club. I see him starting behind torres with Mata on the left BUT with a lot of switching between them.

Ditto with Torres and Hulk/Sturridge. As i said - its a very fluid set of attacking players, which Marin can also adapt to.

I understand most people's team without them putting players in specific places. If u know the player u know the game type

Check this out At £32m, £38m & £8m respectively, Hazard,Hulk & Marin have cost Chelsea a mere £2m more than liverpool spent on Carroll, Henderson & Downing. Fun stat.

As much as this was great to have believed at first, the Liverpool players were £35m, £20m And £20m so according to your figures, we spent £8m more, which is still a great achievement, because come on, downing as Henderson are simply poor.

Actually it's 3 million more... 20 + 20 = 40 for Liverpool 8 + 32 = 40 for us, then 38 is 3 more than 35...

Actually the maths works out at 3mil according to your figures. Correcting a mistake with a mistake. I did have to mention this to my Liverpool m8s tho, they didn't look impressed ;)

Yer 3 million more but either way we would of done better if it was 20 million more and yet carroll downing and henderson are still in the euro squad......... how did they get in the squad and richards didnt id rather play bertrand on the left wing than downing and hes not even a winger can tell the new england manager used to be a red

Totally agree with the dude that said you could tell the manager was an old red. Okay first of all he chooses Sandy Carrol over the likes of Crouch,Holt who had an amazing season for Norwich, and Sturridge how fair is that. Sturridge offers a lot more than carrol and had a better season, I want to believe the only reason downing is in the team is because England have no one else to bring and same also for Henderson taking the place of Lamps. Johnson isn't supposed to be picked over Richards another huge point. The only person that I agree with his inclusion is Gerrard. So No rooney in the first game so it would be Sandy (note not Welbeck). France is gonna make mud pie out of them lots if they even start (for the sake of the decent players in the team I hope not).I Feel sorry for JT , Cahill and Ash, I bet they can do there own bit very well but the liverpool lots I just mentioned wouldn't .

Sturridge offers nothing, can't pass, can't cross, can't head the ball and can't hold up the play. andy carroll can do all of this and can score goals aswell. this coming from a true chelsea supporter.

Trust me i watched every game we've played this season, one way or another, and let me tell you, sturridge is garbage. yes he's scored goals but with his pace he should be getting a lot more assists. andy carroll, on the otherhand, cost liverpool 35 mil, something they wouldn't have paid for someone if they thought all he could do was stick the ball in the back of the net, if he starts tomorrow you'll see.
