Ed have you heard anything about Michael Woods? An expensive signing that doesn't seem to have done much and at 21 should either be breaking into the first team or sold to a lower club for profit. Grateful for your thoughts. {Ed002's Note - He was on loan somewhere in the midlands. I don't know what will happen to him next.}

Michael Woods has been released by the club.

Believable0 Unbelievable9

Loaned out to Notts County.

Released? Must be a Leeds troll. .

Hey ed, not really player related this one. I was wondering whether or not we'll stick with emenalo as assistant manager next year. I really haven't seen much of him at the club and all I've heard is him spilling the beans to some Croatian newspaper about our targets. Would we possibly try and replace him with Zola? Thanks

Ed, why are you referring ppl to earlier posts on Pastore. A simple question was put to you just a few hours ago regarding a possible bid from chelsea being rejected. Your referring people to a copy and paste paragraph from weeks ago, that does not answer this question. Was there or was there not a bid made today for Javier Pastore that was rejected? A simple yes or no answer will do. {Ed002's Note - Rubbish. Read the item again, it was updated.}

Believable9 Unbelievable0

I have read it. But it still does not answer the question regarding todays fresh rumours.

Agree10 Disagree0

The Ed had posted that Chelsea had a bid rejected. Just because Palermo came out today and said they rejected a bid from Chelsea doesn't mean it happened today. The Ed was correct in what he said. Read it better and put 2+2 together

No rumours just a thought, i hope to god we get rid of Malouda, Mikel and Kalou, im a lifelong fan and spend loads following the club, but if we keep them 3 and sell the likes of Sturridge i will seriously cut out all the midlands and northern away days and save my money, i can't tolerate another season of bolton away in the cold watching players that don't care!

You missed out torres,

Agree0 Disagree13

I have faith in Torres (maybe blindly), fingers crossed with a decent rest and a new winger and creative midfielder supplying him he'll come good

Agree14 Disagree0

Torres needs service plain and simple. He got it at Scum, thus he was successful. With players like Kalou and Malouda flanking him it's no mystery why he struggled with us. Those 2 were more concerned with personal glory (Malouda to get a contract extension and Kalou to get more starts). Getting rid of those 2 will be a start.

I tend to disagree with selling Mikel. I still think that he's being played out of position.

Agree12 Disagree1

Torres has got a load of **** around him that can't create squat. How does anybody expect him to settle or find his form playing in a team like that.

Agree11 Disagree0

Agree that JOM should stay. Malouda was far more usefull than Kalou.

Agree0 Disagree10

Well, I agree that JOM should stay as well. Can't agree that *either* Malouda or Kalou were useful - unless we're playing bottom feeders and Championship sides, and even then. .

Ed, Michael Emenalo has come out and said that Torres is missing the service he use to get whilst playing for Liverpool. I agree 100% with him on this as we all no the club is lacking some what in the creative department. However what I do not understand, is the fact that he's then turned around and said that Torres will adapt to our style of play over time. Which is an absolutley stupid thing for Michael and Chelsea as a club to expect. It should be the other way round, our team should adapt and start creating more chances for Torres. You can't expect him to change his style of play to suit ours as we have bought him on the performances he has put on at Liverpool. Our squad is tailor made to suit Drogba's attacking style, and has been for the last few seasons now. But Torres will never re-capture the form he is capable of if Chelsea assume and expect Torres to change. Its like going to footlocker, buying a pair of trainers you really like and then spray painting them another colour when you get them, it just does'nt work. Your thoughts please ed cos I give up! {Ed002's Note - I have none on this matter.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Why not ed? Because it's clearly an issue that needs addressing. Everybody's calling Torres but its gotta be 50/50 in him helping the team and the team helping him. No support play for this fella what so ever!

Agree4 Disagree0

Totally agree. You don't purchase a £130k Ferrari and then use it to haul furniture. Why spend £50M on a player and then expect him to completely change his style of play.

Agree7 Disagree0

I agree, if you put Torres in the Barcelona team you would see a totally different player all together.

hello ed. Will chelsea promote young stars such as milan lalkovic, connor clifford and gokhan tore to the first team this season. Some of the reserve players have been outstanding and i'll like to see some of them playing for the chelsea first team next season. {Ed002's Note - I know little about the reserves but one or two may get the occasional game or go out on loan.}

will ferrerra be sold this season or will he see out his contract? Who are the people shortlisted for sales. Also about the guy wallace who you said will be coming? Do we really need him since we have todd kane and billy clifford in the reserve?

Ed this neymar deal is not going to happen because of people advising him are pushing for a deal to Barcelona.I think he would just be a sulking player like robinho anyway.So would we then be fully focused on getting aguero, as I see this a better deal anyway.Neymar looks a great player but not a team player, where as aguero is a team player.I guarantee neymar would last no longer than 12 months at the bridge.(But I hope I'm wrong)

Believable2 Unbelievable4

It's sure starting to seem like a strange situation with neymar. I don't doubt the whole Barcelona thing. But I believe they are after Rossi and if neymar was to go there playing time would be limited. Who knows I just hope Chelsea doesn't get in some long drawn process with neymar and miss out on say an Aguero

Agree2 Disagree4

Trying to buy a player these days is'nt so simple anymore guys. Neymar is owned by 3 different parties, Chelsea arent just dealing with Santos. This is why he has not yet arrived that and the fact he has his family requesting certain perks aswell from chelsea such as flight to and from Santos every week so they can see him play live. {Ed002's Note - Right - but one of the owners do not need to be dealt with in negotiations.}

With Mancienne going to Hamburg, its starting to look like our youth system is looking pretty average in performing 'top young class players'

With our financial prowess - albeit 'loose change' for Mr. Abramovich - why do we even bother with youth?

I know people will say 'for the future' and to build the idea of a self sustainable business, but get your head out of the clouds - why don't we keep doing what we do best. Look at other good players, and buy them. No time wasted on under par promises - and we get our man.

I know its an arrogant approach - but who cares? Points mean prizes - just look at the kids club over at The Emirates. What do they have to show? That their books balance? I'd sooner see Mr Abramovich out of pocket, and a few trophies in the bag.

{Ed002's Note - Clearly no idea at all then.}

Believable0 Unbelievable9

Of course it's fun to try and buy all of the great established players around the world, but you're forgetting about a little thing called the "home grown rule". {Ed002's Note - Chelsea are in a reasonable shape with the ruling. I very much doubt it will become an issue.}

Agree5 Disagree0

You obviously know nothing about football do you?
I'd rather have a talented youth system and see some good young players bled into the first team.
It's about getting the balance right!
Look at Barcelona, they are the best team in the world right now for a reason!

Agree5 Disagree0

Who were our home grown players at the end of the season? I counted:

1. Lamps
2. JT
3. A. Cole
4. Bertrand
5. Josh M.
6. Turnbull

Sturridge, Bruma, PvA, Borini, Cork, Mancienne, Mellis, and a handful of others were loaned out. They don't figure into the equation do they? {Ed002's Note - No they don't. Neither does McEachran and anyone else under 21. You need to look at it the other way round though. The club is allowed to declare 25 players over the age of 21 who will play. Of those 25, a maximum of 17 may be non home grown players (i.e. someone, regardless of nationality, did not spend three years playing in England or Wales before the end of the season in which they were 21). As an example, if Chelsea declared a squad of 18 players over 21, at least one would need to meet the home grown criteria; a squad of 20 and at least three would need to meet the home grown criteria, and so on. Hopefully this is clearer now.}

Agree5 Disagree0

That makes more sense, thanks Ed!
