hey ed,

could you do a little roundup of the likely and possible summer signings like the one you did on the arsenal page.

thanks, cali {Ed002's Note - It is not so easy for Chelsea I am afraid. There is nothing I can say is "probably" or "likely" to happen. Arsenal have already made an agreement over one player and there have been no such agreements reached for Chelsea.}

Ok thanks,

Ours, Arsenals and Spurs remaining fixtures;
Chelsea:
Chelsea v Wigan
Fulham v Chelsea
Arsenal v Chelsea
Chelsea v QPR
Chelsea v Newcastle
Liverpool v Chelsea
Chelsea v Blackburn

Arsenal:
Arsenal v Man City
Wolves v Arsenal
Arsenal v Wigan
Arsenal v Chelsea
Stoke v Arsenal
Arsenal v Norwich
West Brom v Arsenal

Spurs:
Sunderland v Tottenham
Tottenham v Norwich
QPR v Tottenham
Tottenham v Blackburn
Bolton v Tottenham
Aston Villa v Tottenham
Tottenham v Fulham

We have three very hard games against an inform Arsenal, a dangerous Newcastle and a desperate Liverpool side fighting for their jobs at Anfield, going to be very hard to take maximum points BUT I believe we can. Arsenal also have three tricky fixtures against Man City, Us and a Stoke team that always seem to dominate Arsenal. Spurs have the easiest set of fixtures but are playing against teams who are fighting for their life at the bottom which means they are going to be no walkovers. They also have more away fixtures than home which should hopefully hurt their chances. I can see Blackburn and maybe QPR giving Spurs a good game and hopefully nicking a few points of them. As always; Keep the Faith!

Cheers for posting these pal, i posted them a few weeks back but couldnt find it.

Id say we could afford 1 loss and 1 draw to have a 50/50 chance. Which would mean Ars/Spu would need 12 points to finish above us. Not a big ask really i bet they both fancy getting them but at the same time 12 points isnt a 'gimmie'. Be a lot easier to assess next week theyve both got possibly there hardest games on paper, i think we'll be asking a lot if they both pick up wins

Like i said earlier though it doesnt matter becasue we're gonna win the CL anyway ;)

Think you should put the Geordies fixtures up there cuz they defiantly ain't out of it.

It pains me to say it but in all honesty I can't see us getting top four this season. The thought of us not in it is so depressing, but at least were having a good run this year

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Wouldnt worry about it mate we're gonna win the Champions League anyway

I think something has to be done about the holding midfield role in our upcoming games.Essien and Mikel, who has improved a bit, have not been exactly destroying the opposition attacks. What has happened to Romeu,I would like him to be restored to the starting line up .He is great at breaking up the play .
roan

Oriol romeu has been injured, he's back now but is lacking fitness, i doubt we will be seeing him play again this season as we have some important games coming up.

Agree1 Disagree1

Despite being one of his biggest critics I have to say Mikel has been quite impressive in recent weeks.

Lads how well is torres playing he looking dangerous. Ant gonna lie I wanted the club to sack him cos he was dire! But I Dnt mind being put in my place!

If we miss out on top 4 do u think he will wanna go or the club sell him? Really hope he stays!

Think his new lease of life is down to RDM hope he becomes our new boss.

Pinky

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Very much doubt we would sell him if he keeps up this form Pinky. Can't imagine he will ask for a transfer when he knows himself he hasn't been quality all season. Plus he says we are the best fans in the world. I remember him saying the greatest moment in his club career isn't captaining Athletico or winning CL at Liverpool but when he was sat on the bench for us against Wolves and his name was chanted around the Bridge.

Gotta say I already see him becoming one of the most loved Chelsea players of my generation. Not only because he came from the pool but also because he obviously loves our club and our fans.

Take a bow Nando, you deserve it mate.

Torres didn't win the CL with Liverpool, in fact I don't think he won anything at all there. Hence the reason he joined us.

Our defence is looking good right now, especially at centre back. Terry, Luiz and Cahill are all looking strong, the Luiz and Cahill partnership will hopefully be a fixture at the club for a long time into the future. Chalobah is a real prospect and should see some first team action either at Chelsea in cup matches etc. or on loan at a club lower down in the league. We also have Ivanovic who can, and would prefer to, play at centre back; the same can be said for Hutchinson.

Right Back is a bit more of a concern, Ivanovic is strong but we need a more attacking option if he stays, which is no certainty. Bosingwa and Ferreira will almost certainly leave the club in the summer, Bosingwa has never been my favourite player (to say the least) and I’d be happy if he didn’t play for the club again. Ferreira on the other hand has always been the consummate professional at the club, from when he was our first choice right back, during our most successful years, to when he has just been a squad player at the club; you never hear a complaint from him. I don’t think he will play for another club, in fact I think he’ll retire and take up another role within the club; I’d like to see this happen.

Left back is something that may be looked at in the summer of 2013, Cole is starting to look a little more vulnerable than he has but still has at least one year left in him. To a certain degree the jury is still out on whether Bertrand can do it at the top level, this should be cleared up in the next year. Van Aanholt hasn’t produced during any of his loans and should be moved on in the summer.

If our first choice back four (Ivanovic – Luiz – Terry – Cole) remains the same as it is now then I can’t really see the problem with this, only a new squad addition at right back is required.

People keep questioning branis attacking qualities but for me he is fantastic going forward, 9 times out of 10 he makes the right on wether to cross. imo he has the perfect balance and him being at right back is a major reason for us looking so solid at the back again

Blue John

Eh Brana got two against Villa, thats attacking enough for me

Kenny

Agree1 Disagree0

Set peices? He's not the worst going forward, I'm not saying that. I just wouldn't say he is a naturally attacking full back like say Van Der Wiel! I do rate Ivanovic!

After watching MOTD, I have to say that Mr.Torres played a blinder. I am first to admit that I criticised him earlier on, but it seems that after a good deal of man management and restored confidence, he looks menacing once more. Would be mad to even consider selling him. Bring on benfica

Guys , what are your thoughts on Javi Martinez ?He can play both as a central defender , as a holding midfielder and as an attacking midfielder . In my opinion, he is better than Montinho or Modric .He oozes class in every position he plays and had Messi in his pocket whenever they played Barca. We should go all out to get him.He could be our Alonso or Xavi.I think everybody will agree that he will be the perfect player for us.25 million pounds on him will be money well spent.
roan

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Rate him very highly Roan, looks absolute class. His preferred position seems to be as a holding midfielder and my only concern is that I think Romeu is going to be the business next season. I don't want his progression to be damaged, although if he comes through and then heads home to Barce i will be a little disgruntled. I personally think both Modric and Moutinho offer more as creative midfielders.

Wouldn't complain for a second if we signed him mind you. Torres seems to enjoy the spainards playing with him.

Melbourne CFC

Agree2 Disagree1

I was thinking he could take up Lampard's role in the team, more of a playmaker's role than a holding one.His vision and passing is quite fabulous. He ripped Man u to shreds at Old Trafford, even when playing as a center back.My word, how good are these Spanish players !

Great result, really happy for Torres. Sadly I didn't get to watch the watch. Is it worth watching the replay?
Ed or anybody else, what happened to that person we signed from Nottingham Forrest? I don't expect much from him, but is he playing for the reserves or what.
Jono {Ed002's Note - Yes, in the reserves.}
