They could offer him in a swap if they want to get mata, which they do according to reports. I for one don't know if it's all true but I wouldn't necessarily be against it if they offer enough money on top of Thiago. Don't slate me for this, it's just my opinion

Maybe the rumour is the other way round. Barcelona offering Thiago & money for Mata. I hope not and if so,
I hope we tell them where to go.

The deal was being sweetened by barca not chelsea they want mata and will use alacantra as a makeweight ha did you think I meant the other way round.

Got to admit, I thought Oscar had a weaker game tonight, but of coarse, you can't play well in every game, and also thought Luiz looked quite solid at Cb tonight.

I you crazy for saying that oscar had a very very very long season for us dude he needs a holiday

He played a under 20 world tournament for brazil last summer then moves to the other side of the world to play for a new club in one of the most physical leagues in the world. Now he is playing for Brazil in a home tournament with the weight of the whole country on his shoulders. He is amazing. If we look after him properly he can become world class and lead us to much success.

I ain't doubting the lad, he was fantastic for us and most recently Brazil, i'm just saying he had a weaker game to night in comparision to some of his other games, likely to be because of the amount of games he's played, hence why I said, you can't always have a great game, but its just one game i'm talking about.

Ed is it true? Ed002 said it was crap? {Ed018's Note - I don't think he will be sold but you never know what might happen but I know I'd be nervous if I just bought a new kit with Mata's name on the back and all these stories keep popping up}

It's not completely unthinkable that he would get sold if an acceptable offer came in. If Jose doesn't really see him fit well into his plans, then I think we have to trust Jose. We should finally let the coach kind of mold his own team, as that would probably set us up for long term success

Its a load of media rubbish doing their level best to unsettle our best players. Look at Mata's stats last year and the one before, of course he fits into Mourinho's plans, if it wasnt for Juan last season we wouldn't have got into the Champs League and it was also his corner that Ivanovic scored from in the EL Final, Drogba last year too. He is far too good for us to let go and I really don't think Mourinho is that stupid. Same goes for Luiz, ok yes he is prone to the few silly incidents but its nothing that can't be ironed out. I would just like to say been reading these posts over the last 2 seasons there is so much rubbish written and thanks to the eds great input it cuts through most of it also some great other poster who make so much sence

Next seasons fixtures looks okay. The big teams are spread out nicely. Apart from December - January time, it all looks fairly decent.

Really happy with the fixture list. Its not about the opening fixtures it ALL about the run in. Man City away 1st Feb, after that we play NONE of last seasons top 6 AWAY from home. (bar rescheduled games). Based on that alone we have a really good chance of a title winning end of season charge.

Also il put it out there at the risk of been ridiculed. i'm not that bothered about Cavani, its not my money so i'd take him, but for that price I can't see it being a good transfer. I can't see him netting more than 20-25 goals in this team and with such a hefty price tag is that really a good return. I can't for the life of me see why we aren't putting more thought towards Gomez. I think Soldado would do a job aswell, really feel that cavani price is crazy money

Happy with Hull home for first game and United away is tasty especially with Jose in charge, for once he will be the most successful of the managers when we face United.
Pretty hard start with Spuds (Away), Everton (Away), Fulham (Home) and United (Away) in the first six, but Spuds will be without Bale so I'm not worried, Everton will be beatable, United will be there for the taking that early on and Fulham, Norwich and Hull should be a nice taking of points for us.

Fair play guys and yes I do think jose will make a difference. I haven't come to argue its just I read your page a lot I do also comment and I recall a couple of times games you should have won easily you didn't win and I just wondered if some of that was from over confidence, not by the supporters but by the players. anyway good luck with new season/manager and look forward to locking horns. I am a frustrated spurs supporter taking out my frustration at lack of clf again on you guys ha ha

These stories are being reported in the the Star and the Mirror. Why don't people understand that nothing printed in their pages has any factual evidence. Juan Mata has been the best player at the club since he arrived, any story that surfaces in a red top paper stating "Jose doesn't fancy him" should be immediately ignored.

I can't believe it I see mata as top ten players in the world! Saying that I would't swap him for any player in the world! Not a chance! He is our Legend and became it after just 2 seasons!

I keep reading in the press that Mata might go. I'd love to put this down to poor journalism but starting to worry there is no smoke without fire. Anyone know if this is rubbish, or some truth to the matter. I know Mata isn't fast or strong - two attributes that Jose loves - but he's still the best player we have. I hope we build the team around him this year

I agree it is starting to worry me that no one is coing out and denying it. He has carried the team in his first two seasons and I would hate to see him leave we would be far worse without him.

How good do you guys think Belgium will be next year in Brazil? Personally I think they'll do great with KDB, Eden, Lukaku, courtios and co. Think they'll be dark horses personally. Thoughts?

I'm Belgian and I definitely think we can finally make it to a big tournament. But I don't believe we have a real chance of going very far in it. Quarter finals tops I reckon

We deserve to be a laughing stock for how bad we are at integrating the youth. Ancelotti started using mceachran, borini, matic, van aanholt, kakuta, back then. If he had carried on I believe they would be top premier league players right now. But instead they all stalled, until recently, matic last season in Portugal, van aanholt on loan in holland, had a quality season. Mceachran was the beat of boro first half of the season until injury and sickness kept him out. Then they started playing him on the left. And now hopefully Jose is going to do this especially with players like ake, challobah, cheek, Kane. I for one still think van aanholt, kalas, mceachran can still make the grade. Maybe even kakuta under the right management.
