Cancelo joining inter, this is really worrying how Chelsea can't get theses deals done.

Been worrying for the last 3 weeks, it's turned embarrassing now, started window looking at aubamayang Sanchez Rodriguez, some world class players and ending missing out on Spain U21 players from Valencia.

I'm always one of the more upbeat posters but so we don't have to suffer another week of doom laden posts, can we just assume that Spurs have won tomorrow and then make what's left of today, miserable posters day?
Lads, the club and management are doing their best but if people only see everything as negative then they will post, what is mainly, negative rubbish!

Agree3 Disagree1

20 Aug 2017 07:59:39
It is frustration that is causing the posts and the habit of many latching on to any name mentioned in the hope we will buy when most would not even be considered by the club, it is separating fact from fiction. However, as champions going into a new season as unprepared for the additional challenges we face this season, is in my opinion, an error. After today, two games in and we have not got a full, settled squad puts us on the back foot when the two Manchester clubs and Liverpool are hitting the ground running.

United look so so good, would love martial but if he keeps coming of bench and scoring then he will get his chance, and while they look formidable we are still talking about our small squad and if we're ready to defend this league title .

They've truly, within The first 2 playing rounds, shown The importance of having a strong bench.

United looked that good to you? They struggled to create anything of note during the first half up until Swansea's defense forgot Lukaku was playing and left him all alone on an island in their box.
After that they rolled over for United and didn't bother stopping the ball on counters. I honestly think they didn't look that good. They seemed blazing against West Ham, but they looked quite slow and deliberate today. We'll see what happens when they play some top quality opposition (which is only mid October lol) .

Plus apparently Pogba should've gotten a 2nd yellow in the first half. But he's a United player and not Chelsea so why would a ref send him off, ey.

Spot on Jackson! I agree with everything you just said.

On a side note Matt Martin your getting boring now mate, it's like you have to post every negative thought that pops into your head. Change the record fella we have heard it all before!

You can't blame Matt Martin for the negative posts, there is noting positive to say right now.

Hi Jackson

Sigh, Pogba was rightly booked, but you don't get a card for every tackle and the next one was a foul but nothing more.

I take your point on the difference between this week and last week but they had 11 men behind the ball and were playing for a 0-0. Last year we would have drawn that game, this year we won 4-0. I'm looking forward to playing top teams, we look a completely different outfit this year. Lukaku has given us pace and movement up front which Ibra, for all his talents, doesn't have any more, and Matic has added stability to let everyone else roam free.

Add to that Rashford is a year older, Martial seems to be rediscovering his confidence, Phil Jones looks like the CB we thought he could be and the feel is much more positive,

You can't steam roller every team, but to be slow and deliberate and still win by four works for me.

Cfc17 we all know very well how this window has gone but I don't think we need reminding by Matt 10 times a week. All his posts are the same doom and gloom even when he is replying to a positive comment he has to bring the mood down. Like I said it's boring and brings a negative vibe to the whole page.

Agree2 Disagree1

19 Aug 2017 16:49:23
Jackson, United are the team to beat. They struggled and still won 4-0, if they wouldn't have won 4 they would have won with the one goal. They look unstoppable and have an aura of invincibles to them. Mourinho has a board that have got him 3 out of 4 targets before the first game of the season and it's proving dividends.

Not a dig at Chelsea as were great at doing deals and saving money, but success wise united are on top.

I've tipped United to win the title since early July, so you don't need to tell me United are the team to beat, Standard. Their squad is loaded with quality and depth. Anything other than a PL title and this season is a failure for them, and I think Jose knows it as well. They really have no excuse not to win it after all their extravagant spending.

AJH, I understand your reply. Lukaku does give you more mobility up front, but he didn't really do anything today. His goal was a gift from the defense coupled with a good pass from Mkhi. Swansea stopped playing after that 2nd goal and you guys made them pay. Good on you, but most teams don't roll over like that after 2 goals. The match was surprisingly even in the 2nd half and Swansea had 1 or 2 extremely good chances to score. And I do mean extremely good. That early shot by Ayew should've been a goal. De Gea was rooted to the spot. Compare that to Stephen ****in Ward scoring a once-in-a-career worldie last week against us, and it's just a difference in luck, not a difference in quality of defense or play. Small margins decide the outcome of games, and today's could've been a lot different if Ayew finishes that or Pogba has the bad luck of having a ref like we did last weekend against Burnley (where he booked Rudiger for breathing near a Burnley player lol) .

I realize you can't steamroll every team, that'd be a ridiculous ask. But Swansea looked like your match in the 2nd half up until minute 80, so we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves here. Enjoy the adoration you'll get in the media this season. They're all fawning over you guys.

Utd have won two games 4-0 and some people crowing as if they've already won the league.
They have good players and a manager with a track record of winning.
That's the compliments finished with!
I can now see why fans disliked Jose. His smug attitude when his team win is so aggravating and his excuses when his team lose are embarrassing!
Of course I loved him when he was our manager!
Give me Conte every day of the week. The bloke is pure class and he gives the club, a long overdue, more appealing profile!
CHAMPIONS of ENGLAND we know what we are!

Jackson I just feel your being harsh at united. I hate them more than anything but got teams win even when they don't play well. United won 4-0 today. by playing poorly. They know how to get the job done.

Diego Costa used to do nothing upfront then nick a goal and win us the game and Chelsea fans praised and praised, Lukaku did that tonight and apparently he did nothing? He got the goal that won the game.

Jackson, I enjoy our banter but you're telling me we were lucky? The League isn't won after 2 games but 4-0 and 4-0 is not lucky mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2017 09:29:34
Maybe I phrased it poorly, AJH. Obviously you're not lucky to have won both games. You deservedly destroyed West Ham, and were certainly better than Swansea. But you were a bit lucky to win by that much yesterday, that's all I'm saying. 4-0 was very flattering to your club, and I think you'd find it hard to disagree on that. Swans should've had at least 1 goal and Swansea letting you score 3 goals in 4 minutes is just a pathetic effort, no matter which team you play against. That's as much the fault of Swansea as it is the quality of United.

Standard, don't know which Costa you've been watching but he was always hustling. No matter how badly he played, he always put in a shift for the team. The comparison with Lukaku yesterday is very wide off the mark in my opinion.

Good afternoon eds, my initial was not published, however, I think Chelsea supporters should be calm we still have few to in the window I the board can't be that naive to leave with such a thin squad going into four competitions. My thought on VVD. I feel the managing company or agent did a poor job. I read severally his own transfer request he strikes me like who didn't know what he wanted ab initio. If Southampton wouldn't match your ambition why did sign a slavish of six years. You have kwown that club would hold to respect the terms of the you freely entered . I advise to a better solution to the mess he got himself into. Upcoming talents should learn from this. what do you guys think, am I off track or reading too much into it. Eds also feel to air your view. Chelsea beat spurs game o lift me up.

Ed Doesn't a club have to suggest an amount that they are willing to accept for the sale of one of its players.

Juve and alex Sandro for example - Even before a bid goes in, aren't the two clubs in conversation over the player and don't they provide an indicative number that they are willing to accept.

Hi eds and mates first time poster here, it's a pity you've decided to stop answering questions regarding Chelsea this summer so no use to ask. I plead your understanding with Chelsea supporters here pestering you for a reliable insight on interest and targets. Giving our difficulty in bringing in desired targets and the obvious need in current squad, we can't help but be apprehensive. Pls do understand us. Good luck against spurs tomorrow.

How embarrasing this Sando fiasco has been? Even if half of what has been reported is true it reflects the consfused state of mind of our club.

The club and the manager are NOT "confused" The cub did not want to sell some players but we have a history of selling players who don't want be at the club.
The club has tried sign players but a successful transfers are broadly based on the three things:-
(a) The club that holds the players contract wants to sell.
(b) The buying club is willing or able to pay any transfer fee and that fee is reasonable value.
(c) The player wants to leave, can agree personal terms and passes a medical.
Our club and management are working hard to sign player but you have to have all three of the above criteria met before you can do business.
I'm proud of the way our club is now run. At the end of this window look at our net spend, it will be lowish compared to some clubs.
The average age of the team will also have dropped considerably, another positive for the future!

Mate, clearly Sandro is interested.

That means that we've turned the head of a player who's playing for the biggest team in Italy and champions league finalists.

That's pretty good!

Agree but don't sell players before we have replacements as if we don't sign a few we're short and weakened.

Although Sandro would be an unreal signing, Alonso proved quality last year and also showed immense fight against Burnley. I'd be confident with him as our starting wingback, aslong as suitable depth arrives.
