Hi ed, do you know if Chelsea will again make a move for Neymar in January? {Ed002's Note - Neymar is not available for transfer in January.}

Hi ED/Chelsea Fans

Ive posted a few times expressing my views on our current Chelsea team and i feel that this season should be the last for the likes of Drogba & Lampard due to age, dip in form and huge wages, and players such as Kalou & Malouda for lack of quality.

Oviously getting rid of 2 Chelsea legends in Lampard and Drogba and selling 2 sub par players in my opinion in Kalou and Malouda we would be short on numbers and these players would need replacing.

The 3 positions that i feel come next summer we should look to strengthen are Centre Back, Left/Right Wing and CAM. In a non realistic world i would like to see players like Yann M'Villa, Hulk & Angel Di Maria but i feel due to there inflated price and availability it would be hard to capture these signings.

A thing to think about now when looking at players is 1. Proven PML Experience and 2. Home Grown Status this important due to the new restrictions on PML clubs. Considering this what are the international alternatives to these positions that need strengthening and what are the current PML alternatives.

CB - Gary Cahill (PML) - Reliable, traditional British CB, no nonsense with an eye for goal, he has age on his size and will be available on the cheap this January.

CB - Neven Subotic (INT) - Has the trates of a British CB also, powerful player who has a good football knowledge, tough tackling and a game suited for the PML.

-

CAM - Luka Modric (PML) -Highly skilled on the ball, attack minded and excellent dribbler, possesses great passing and decision making. Chelsea wanted him, Modric wanted Chelsea, but the two clubs cudnt reach an agreement.

CAM - Lucas Moura/Ganso/Thiago Alacantara (INT) -Lucas Moura in my opinion potentially the best attacking midfielder in the world, amazing dribbling ability, a good range of passing, killer pace and an eye for a goal. Ganso on the other hand i see as more of a Lampard type player, not as dynamic and fast but great passing and a superb shot on him with that touch of Brazilian flair. Lastly Thiago who is a mixture of the two, great attacking ability and dribbling but with footballing IQ and passing as you would expect from a Barcelona academy player.

-

LW/RW - Junior Hoilett (PML) - I liked Junior last season, but this season he has come into his own. He has pace, dribbling ability and that attacking flair we are lacking. Juan Mata a magnificent signing and our best player this year by far is meant to play that psoition but he doesnt offer outright width, you see him in the game floating across the final third of the pitch, often in a more central attacking role.

LW/RW - Eden Hazard (INT) - My favourite winger atm, dribbling ability of the highest order, great balance and pace, a good passing game and the ability to change a match in an instance.

All these players listed are available for purchase, at what price its debatable but a club of Chelsea's stature and with funds available to secure top talent have the ability to sign a combination of these players.

Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on these suggestions and your feeling on going Premier League or International.

PB {Ed001's Note - I, personally, expect Cahill to sign, probably in January.}

Agree with the majority of what you say mate. Would prefer subotic, modric and hazard. Althou wouldn't mind alcantara or moura for a second. Melbourne CFC

Lucas Moura is 19, how can he be the best CAM in the world? Or do you mean he could be the best? I think if you are looking at CAM you have rather over looked the likes of Hamsik, Jovetic (who can play wide and upfront as well) Muller and Kroos. All 4 are fantastic players and possibly available for less than say Ganso (although whether the German players want to move is a different Q). You have named some talented players but as was discussed during the summer Thiago doesnt want to leave and Barca want him to stay, and Ganso wants to move to Milan, i think those two are not realistic at the moment.
Also i think we need another player at RB, if Bran doesnt want to play there we only have one option for the position, and he is 29 and not a great defender (he has had a good start to the season but i raelly dont think he will fair well against the better LW of this world) {Ed002's Note - At least Manchester United, Barcelona and Chelsea are taking a look at Marseille's Cesar Azpilicueta as a right back option.}

I would get;
CB-Subotic or Cahill, Both would do me fine. I think Alex will leave and therefore open up a berth. Subotic is a better player but Cahill reminds of Terry and is british.

CM-Lucas or Hamsik + Barkley;
Lucas and Hamsik are too potentially world class players. Both can open up defences and both are young. Lucas is more likely but more expensive. IMO we cannot let the mancs get Barkley. He has so much talent at 17 so if we can nurture him, perhaps loan him back out at Everton, he can become world class.

WF-Di Maria and Hoilett/Shaqiri
If Neymar AND Tevez go to Madrid then surely Di Maria must be available by Real. He is phenomenal yet is under appreciated at Real, overshadowed by Mourinho and Ronaldo. He could slot in on the right with Hoilett or Shaqiri as cover for them. Anelka and Kalou should leave in January though.

Scotty.

I said Lucas is POTENTIALLY going to become one fo the best CAM in the world. personally i do like Hamsik but i do think he is slightly over rated, he doesnt have that ability to take 2 or 3 men on and pick out a pass or goal in comparison to Lucas in my opinion. Thiago Alacantara is a special talent, in may/june he was quoted saying he wants to play first team football whether that be at barcelona or somewhere else, he then went on to sign a new contract but he has the likes of, Xavi, Iniesta, Sanchez, Fabregas, Villa, Messi, Pedro who will all start ahead of him in attacking positions. I cant help but think a £25m+ bid plus a starting spot in Chelsea offered that both Barcelona and Thiago wudnt be interested, plus add in the fact that AVB is a huge admirer and marked him as one of his summer signings as Porto this year before coming to Chelsea.

I do rate Barkley and have done for some time but £20m+ is a ridiculous price atm so i dont see that happening guys.
