I will appreciate your thought on this, fellow blue supporters.

Basically English football has dominated all over in Europe and English teams have proved that they are not easy to go by. but recently things seems to have been turn down a little.

Last season in the champion's league, 2 English teams got their boot kicked out of the group stages - Man City and Man United, but Arsenal progress to the next stage and got eliminated. Chelsea made it to the final and won it through some individual brilliance and luck.

This season has not been an exception, 2 English teams got their boot kicked in the group stages - Man City and Chelsea, the other two only made it to the next stage but got eliminated including the current premier league leaders Man United and Arsenal.

Is already quarter final in this seasons champions league and we have 3 Spanish teams standing, 1 Italian team, 2 German team, 1 French team and 1 Turkish team standing but no English team to be found.

In the past seasons, out of the 4 teams who made it to the semi final of the champions league you could find at least 2 teams from England among them, even 3 teams used to made it that far.

During this seasons ballon d'or, FIFA named its first eleven players and surprisingly all the players are from the Spanish league.

So the multi million question am asking is that, HAS ENGLISH FOOTBALL LOST IT QUALITY?

I will like to hear your thought on this ED. Sorry for the long post and bad English

Yes how many players have won the ballon dore well playing in the prem. #1 ronaldo 2008, before that i'm sure sheare came 3rd in 1997 but I do get mixed up between ballon dore and world player of the year, what i'm saying is arcording to the press and football captains and managers all over the world voted for the team and they all play in spain, and madrid and barca are the 2 best in the world, and the spanish hold 2 euro's and world cup, the only argument against is stupid people will say that our 10 th best team are better than there 10 best team, who cares about the 10th best team its best against best in my opinion, oh and bilbao finished near 10th last year and they smashed utd over 2 legs, THE BEST PLAYERS PLAY IN THE BEST LEAGUE!!

Agree2 Disagree2

A lot of it comes down to the draw this year. The two groups knocked out in the group stages were in the two strongest groups (although city massively underperformed). Then arsenal and united got arguably 2 of the top 3 teams left. You can say that Germany and Spain are better at the top but united and city on their day would handle juve, Malaga, psg, and gala. That being said there is far more balance in our league than pretty much any other. Our bottom teams would bury their bottom teams and I have zero doubt in that. Are we as dominant as we were? No, but there's a reason the epl is still head and shoulders watched more than any other league.

Agree2 Disagree1

I'm with you Tk, I think Bayern and RM are the two best teams left and so do the bookies. The draw has a lot to do with the results. The fact that there are 3 English teams left in the Europa League shows that the Premier League has a strong "mid-table" presence.

Agree1 Disagree1

Barca and real will make the final if they avoid each other.

Bayern are quality but the difference is they don't have a player like messi or ronaldo who can win games by themselves.

They're best player is they're right back and you would never see barca or Madrid play as poorly as Bayern did against arsenal, especially in the champions league.

My money is going on the outsiders that are Borussia Dortmund, nobody likes a favourite lol. Scott M.

ribery. robben. schweinstiger. and there best player is there RB? what bayern team do you watch

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think you can draw conclusions based on a single season. Chelsea are going through a transitional phase, and much as I hate them, Manchester United were unfortunate to be eliminated when they were.

The Spanish league has been getting stronger recently, but English football hasn't declined as much as Spain has caught back up. As people have already said, there's a lot more strength throughout the Premiership than the BBVA. Take Barca and Real out of the equation and the picture changes dramatically.

Agree1 Disagree0

Robben is not even a regular starter for Bayern this season.

ok what bout there other stars? robben is injury prone. bayern know the second half of the season in all comps is more important. to say lahm is there best player shows u probably enjoy fifa a bit to much {Ed002's Note - There will be a lot of changes at Bayten Munich this summer with Ribery, Pizarro, Gomez, Robben, Boateng, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Contento, Luiz Gustavo and Tymoshchuk all possibly leaving.}

Agree3 Disagree1

Wow that's a long list of players ed. Who's interested in Boateng, Ribery and Gomez? {Ed002's Note - I am not getting in to this on teh Chelsea page, sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Do Chelsea hold an interest in any of the Bayern players you mentioned ed002? If so could you tell us which ones.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - No M, it is nothing to do with Cheslea at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't think so, but thought it was probably worth asking. Cheers Ed002, appreciate it.

Frank Lampard is number 5 in EPL all time goal scoring chart, and that is some achievement. I don't think some people understand how big it is for a Midfielder to have scored 200 goals for Chelsea and 162 Premier league goals! he beats some real legends, great respect to Frank he is a class act!

Just out of my curiosity, can the same owner (s) own more than one club across the different European leagues?
BB

He owns udinese, Watford and Granada I think.

Agree2 Disagree2

Yes but the 2 teams can't play in the same competion, I think like if Watford somehow made Europe there could be problems if udinese where in aswell

ive just looked over robbens stats when playing for us and hazard in his first season has already beat him, robben's best ever season he scored 9 goals in all comps, hazard has 14 goals and 24 assists in all comps, and we have 9 league games left at least 2 games in europe maybe 5 and a home fa cup tie, if we went all the way he could possibly score 20 goals and assit 30, that would be awsome for any body accept messi, and to think he was 21 when signed, new league, what a gem he's going to be top 3 in the world within 3 years in my opinion can't wait for his second season #17

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Truly an exciting talent

Agree4 Disagree0

To be fair robben was injured for a large portion of his first season.

Agree3 Disagree1

Hazard has the potential to be far better than robben purely because he isn't as selfish as robben.

Jordan

Agree11 Disagree0

Correction: Robben was injured for a large portion of his Chelsea career

Agree5 Disagree1

Make it right, Hazard has better stats then our all time hero ZOLA! so does Mata, maybe Oscar will reach these high stats to, think to the future BLUE BOYS, it looks very good from my point of veiw, only the defence to get sorted out long term, and we might have cracked it again. Pimlico Blue and very proud to be CHELSEA!

Agree7 Disagree0

May I ask which Hazard you are talking about, Eden or his brother I think its spelt Thorgen, but am open to correction, I read some where that if both brothers play for Chelsea in the same match, they could be called the Dukes, I love being a Chelsea supporter, its just so much fun. Pimlico blue.

Agree3 Disagree0

Eden mate. Thorgan is on loan in Belgium, and is still very much developing. I wouldn't expect to see him in a Chelsea shirt for atleast 3 years.
