I believe Emerson's first showing was promising. Obviously not quite fit yet, but I'm optimistic! Possibly for the second leg of the Barcelona match we could slot Alonso to left sided center half and have Emerson play wing back? I think that'd be a wonderful set up! Thoughts?

Why? Instead of who?

Controversial again I suspect but if we sit back against Barcelona we will lose, if we play Fabregas I fear we will lose as his defensive limitations leaves hole that someone will have to fill. We need to score and we need to give Barcalona's defense some concerns so I would therefore field the following. Courtois-Azi + Christensen + Rudiger-
Willian + Kante + Drinkwater + Palmieri-Hazard + Giroud + Morata.
Willian has to play as he is on form and as a wing back he has more to offer than Moses going forward. Drinkwater is a steady player and we do not want any Bakayoko errors. Palmieri if fit for at least 45 minutes gives us pace and what appears a good cross. The forward line speaks for itself.

I tend to agree but think Pedro and Fab will start (Barca connections) . I think the most important thing is not to concede - 0-0 will do us fine.

Good that you finally agree with me that Willian is a very good player. Drinkwater though is not good enough, a bit like Sidwell when we bought him years ago. Bakayoko will play. If Conte let's him play his natural game of driving forward from deep positions we will all be raving about him. You will see that in due course. Morata will probably start with Hazard in a 2 with 3 behind. We could do with Batsy though, the only real goal scoring striker we have. Crazy we let him leave on loan.

Willian should start over pedro as he is in better form, but I think it will be 352 with hazard behind morata, cesc will be the player in midfield who can deliver that one pass from deep to create a chance so he will start so the question is who will start next to cesc and Kante, drinkwater maybe? Is bakyoko fit? Worry for our right side, Zappa or Moses?

Bakayoko is out of the game. Conte has confirmed that.

G8: Thank goodness Bayakoko is out. I think we are somewhat unfair to Drinkwater as he has not had a run and given Baya's shocking form it is a bit disappointing. We need a steady player for this game and he fits the bill. Regarding Willian; he is in a good run of form, dribbling and with a great shot in both feet BUT he does not do it consistently. We bought a player to score as well as everything else and he slipped into being inconsistent, slowing play and not scoring as much as he should. I am more than happy to see him coming out of himself and he often has his best games when Hazard is not playing and the focus is on him. Personally two up front and three behind will not work, we need to keep their defence occupied.

G8: My day job is to monitor your blue tinted glasses view of a team not firing on all cylinders but you can't see it. Enjoy the match.

Paper reports suggesting Real are willing to offer Bale plus £100m - yes or no?

God no. Only players i'd consider getting in a swap deal plush cash is Isco or Asensio. Eventhough Bale is class, he's too injury prone. Even if he was to stay fit he's past his peak imo. But i would be very suprised if Bale would accept that move anyway.

Depending on who is going to be our manager next year, but if Conte stays wr have no need for isco (apart if we play) 352. Coming back to the question I would say no, would rather get 140 million and try to get Dybala.

Agree, Isco top choice then Asensio, I’d even depending on money and players etc but Casemiro next to Kante would be perfect, but bale is hardly ever match fit so no point imo,

I would put Asensio before Isco but I don't think Real will let Asensio leave - also, I think Hazard will stay until summer 2019 as his contract runs until summer 2020.
