And although he was by no means his most effective (mainly due to Dave's brilliance), would like to say how good it was to see Mata applaud both sets of fans on his way off, especially as it acknowledged our warm welcome for him. He may not have fit quite right in Chelsea under Mourinho, but still a class player and person.

True :) genuinely a classy person

Hate to see him in Red. It pains me more than seing Lampard in Man City squad. Mata would have been great great legend at this club, he loved it, and we fans loved him!

I still believe it was a huge mistake to let him go :/

A big apology goes out to didier drogba, I along with many others on here were probably questioning his selection today.
I know he's not what he was but he ran from the first minute to the last. He worked his nuts off and still worried and harried the utd defence. That was a great performance for the team.
Also what a team performance, utd had lots of the ball but created nothing, we were great.

We should have got a point at least. Playing this ugly football is mourinho's way but come next season u will be found out. U will win the league this season because everyone has been that bad. No English clubs left in champs league tells u it all.

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Apr 2015 08:25:00
Okay there, sparky :)
We haven't been playing like that all season though, just a couple of games. I agree it was very defensive but you can't argue with the results.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2015 10:02:29
I think mourinho would adapt to anything United have to grow at us next season he always does in big games, we let you have the ball mate so it's down to your side to break us down & you couldn't! That was our problem last year, we are improving every year & we have the foundation to carry on & bring upgrades in to the squad whereas United have to strengthen in key areas & not guaranteed to have those players gel straight away, arsenal are more of a worry next season

Agree5 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 19:32:43
YES! That's what I'm talking about :)
We showed we could play today during that spell before the goal, we were growing up to that point. Great team goal btw, and some real good finishing from Hazard. Shows how much he's improved this season. In the game at Old Trafford he missed his big chance, now he's finishing those.
Some good defending also by the team. Drogba was clearly exhausted in the second half but he tried his best so I'll give him that.
Huge win for us, absolutely massive. And lastly, could Oscar be back? ;-) pretty good backheel for the assist, right? :)

Totally agree, but would also like to talk about Dave, he was absolutely immense all game. Matic too, back to his dominant best.

Agree4 Disagree1

18 Apr 2015 19:48:51
Yeah of course :)
Mata was non existant because of Azpi and Januzaj couldn't do anything either. Azpi is such a beast, I love him. Matic as well obviously. Also Zouma, Fellaini couldn't do anything this game after being a nightmare for City, Liverpool and Spurs.
Many will say Chelsea played boring negative football etc, but we defended and did it well. Defending is a part of football, guys, and I'm glad that our club and manager embrace it as well.

I've got not fingernails left, but happy with the result. Heads up to Mike Dean for spotting the cheating at the end.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - yea very glad he didn't fall for that}

18 Apr 2015 20:33:47
I double everything Jack said, and also Azpi, he completely put Juan in his back pocket it was great almost like he knew everything he wanted to do. Atmosphere was great at the bridge and glad Juan got a warm welcome, almost there each game at a time.

Get in there.

18 Apr 2015 21:03:15
And to all,I recommend the United page where they have convinced themselves defending isn't part of the game! Also seem to forgetting Hazard hit the post and DDG should have been off!

Agree2 Disagree2

18 Apr 2015 21:23:01
Dave was absolutely outstanding Today at left back Jackson. good shout mate. What a win, the atmosphere at the end was electric. Zouma is becoming a cult hero, everyone singing his name.

18 Apr 2015 22:18:54
Excuse me Jose knows best but didn't I mention Dave first?! ;)

18 Apr 2015 22:48:56
Chelsea played not to lose. Man.Utd.was stopped finally and what is more important Chelsea managed to win the game!
I truly believe that we are much closer to become the champions!

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 23:23:44
Azpi is a great defender and really works for the team. he's a credit and a player every top team needs. Seems a nice guy too.

Agree2 Disagree2

19 Apr 2015 00:07:50
CFC, no one has convinced themselves defending is not part of the game mate. U will rightly get the praise on the back of it.

Hazard hit the post, falcao hit the post. It's all irrelevant now.

Dave the save should not of gone, yes it was just handball but it's a yellow mate.

Terry fouled falcao on the lead up to the goal so it's swings and round a abouts. Jose set up not to lose and maybe nick a win. U defended very well today as u always do.

U should be happy, u won. U don't need to convince people on your own page your tactics worked. Although the fact u feel the need to says a bit.

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Apr 2015 01:22:35
We should have got a point at least from this game it looked liked we were the home side for the majority of the game.

19 Apr 2015 08:25:52
Yes you mentioned him first, CFCForever :) you can take credit for it haha

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Apr 2015 10:19:17
Sparky both teams two shots on target mate we finished one of ours & United didn't, just because you had most of the possession doesn't mean you deserved anything from the game! We all knew how Chelsea would play before it kicked off & we did exactly that! In all honesty I think we made United look a lot better than they are, it looked like you dominated but in actual fact we pretty much had it under control & let you have the ball knowing we would grab a goal on the counter.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Apr 2015 13:05:44
Nice to see Jose words still have the desired effect on some situation88.

I would worry if yesterday was an actual game plan.

U defended so well but u needed to, to suggest this was all a master plan is crazy. Jose went out not to lose, not to win. Either results would of been good enough for u.

Agree0 Disagree2

19 Apr 2015 13:58:58
It was the game plan mate why do you think zouma played? There was zero pace in our midfield yesterday so attacking wasn't our priority, the plan was to defend & to break away when the chance came. we defended as a unit & closed the 18 yard box off the whole game so if that's not an organized plan then I don't know what is pal. Maybe azpi's best game in a Chelsea shirt for me, stuck to Valencia like glue & sniffed out everything, ivanovic kept young quiet too, most of the "dominance" United had was knocking it about in their own half. Two shots on target justifies that for me

Agree4 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 18:41:51
Oscar plays much better on the wing.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

18 Apr 2015 18:18:15
Drogba has played well, hazard is a genius, Oscar needs to help Ivanovic , Zouma needs to keep Fellaini

More of the same boys. but were at the dreaded 1-0 lead.

18 Apr 2015 18:30:47
Honestly there isn't much Drogba is doing that Solanke couldn't do imo. We should give him a run up front. New and hungry to prove his worth to the team.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 18:55:50
Drogbas dead on his feet so the team is having to do his running for him. Bring on solanke.or anybody.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed018's Note - he won't take him out}

18 Apr 2015 19:25:15
Guys, his hold up play was exceptional today, Solanke certainly wouldn't have given us that

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - it was fine not exceptional. He gave the ball away the majority of the time. He worked his socks off though and I'll give him credit for that}

18 Apr 2015 16:49:46
I hope Drogba repays Jose's faith and confidence in him

Let's get Behind the legend Lads! Full faith in Didier!!

Little bit unusual line up to face Man.Utd home.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 17:03:39
Hahah well we don't have much choice now, do we :-P
At least he'll be useful defending corners haha. I really don't care how we play, I just need us to win. Like really need us to win, this is so important. It's our year!
Also, good luck to Zouma. Again big game in which he has to play a role that's a bit new to him. I have no doubt that he'll be great. Up the blues!

18 Apr 2015 17:06:40
Zouma to mark Fellaini, not sure why Willian isn't playing!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 17:08:57
Think Man U will do all the attacking, apart from Hazard not much pace on the break. A bit of a stop Man U winning at all costs line up.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 17:57:38
The fella on tv said willian was ill and therefore unable to start but able to substitute. Oscar and hazard are both doing a poor job of tracking the fullbacks so far. That's one of the few ways they can trouble us. We also always struggle with Drogba up front since he can't press the back line.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 15:38:27
Apparently there could be an academy forward on the bench today. Get ready for another 90 minutes of Drogba. If that's the case, it'll be painful to watch.

{Ed018's Note - great}

big dom solanke!

18 Apr 2015 16:44:10
Drogba leading the line, with Solanke on the bench. Now we all know he won't come on anyway so that part doesn't matter that much. Drogba starting is bad though. He adds almost nothing so suddenly I'm not very confident about this game. God, please win!

18 Apr 2015 16:49:06
What happened to Remy?

{Ed018's Note - I think it is a calf injury}

18 Apr 2015 13:58:28
Hello lads, its my weekly question time, and this time I will keep it simple.

What's in your opinion was the best signing this season?

And who you think was the worst?

For me the best signing of the season has to be Alexis Sanchez as he is just an unbelievable player and for the price arsenal.got him.it was a steal! Second and third place would go to Costa and Fabregas which both are fantastic too.

Strangly but the worst signing is much harder to decide as it can go to any of Di Maria, Falcao (even though it was a loan, but for what price :D) or Balloteli. After hard thoughts I would go with Di Maria, the money spent on him was crazy and he barely can get to united's starting 11. By the way Aron you said he is the best player in premier league :D

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Apr 2015 14:58:18
Best:this could really come down to if any of the signings go on a terror with goals and keeps their team up like wickham did last year. Beyond that sakho was a great buy for west ham considering value.
Worst: mangala. The other guys have all been poor but falcao has limited damage with it being a loan and the other two have decent sell on value but I doubt city could sell mangala for half of what they paid.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 15:03:12
Give him a preseason! He'll boss it up next year :)

Best signing - Sanchez
Worst signing - Balotelli

Really do like these questions mate,!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 15:37:32
I'm with Aron on Di Maria. He hasn't lived up to expectations but he will come good next season I believe.

Best signing: Costa or Sanchez. Can't really decide between the two. Maybe a slight edge towards Sanchez.
Worst signing: Mangala. That much money for a defender?! He's played one game in which he didn't look bad, and that was against us unfortunately. The rest of the games he's been crap and couldn't even keep Demichelis out of the starting 11 :)

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 15:44:23
Best signings Fabregas & Costa.
Worst signings Markovic & Cuadrado.

Agree1 Disagree2

18 Apr 2015 16:16:31
Good shout Jackson, not a fan of Mangala at all,

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 16:32:11
I think it's a bit too early to judge Cuadrado, he needs a good preseason.

I think Sakho was a really good deal, he was cheap and has scored a of goals, so I definitely think that he's been the best signing

As for the worst, I have to say Balotelli. He has played horrendously bad, and he wasn't cheap either

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2015 23:19:35
Just watched boro beat Norwich, that game had Jose mourinho written all over it. Hopefully they can nick a premiership place next season and let bamford try his hand in the top division with another loan.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Apr 2015 02:02:32
Yeah I'd love to see Bamford in the premier league with Boro. I'd also like to see Kalas there next year too but playing as a CB not RB. I think your allowed to loan maximum 3 players from a club. Maybe someone like Traore if he can get a work permit?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - Traore needs to be with Chelsea if he can get a work permit and push Willian for that right wing position.}

18 Apr 2015 04:05:44
Maybe some like Izzy Brown if Traore can't get a permit who looks more or less ready.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 08:23:41
If they gain promotion we can only loan 1 player to them. So Bamford and Kalas can't both be at Boro next season if they come up to the Premier League.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Apr 2015 09:18:19
Totally agree with you ed18, Traore is now ready to step up and challenge. Let's hope he gets the work permit.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 09:21:02
Wait I'm sorry guys but I don't get it. You all want RLC in the team next season but not Bamford? He doesn't need another loan put the dude in the team already he has shown he can play in a tough league why loan him again, I think he is ready and I hope Jose gives him a chance a real chance not bringing him and not letting him play but using him like he was a 20 million odd player cause to be honest the dude is really good and can play a number of positions. As for Traore I really think there should be no question. Like Bamford he is ready those two for me have to be in the team anything else would just be more proof that our young stars can never break in no matter what they do on loan. As for izzy think he needs a loan first definitely. RLC seems good enough but for me as vital squad players next season we have to give Bamford, Traore and van Ginkel a chance.

Agree2 Disagree2

18 Apr 2015 12:48:18
I think most people are afraid that Bamford would get buried on the bench behind Costa and Remy (or another bigger name striker). He's already 21 or 22 so he needs to be playing to improve, and if he's third choice then he'd probably get little time on the pitch. So I think that's why most people would perhaps want to see him out on loan.
If Traore gets a work permit then he needs to be in the team. And Van Ginkel in case we don't get Gomes or Koke.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2015 16:07:48
Eli if costa and Remy stayed fit Bamford would barely play, we only play with one striker.

Agree1 Disagree1

18 Apr 2015 18:00:42
But with that said they've struggled staying healthy/(not suspended). Also not sure if Remy will be back next season.
