I swear I am a genuine Chelsea fan and have posted on here many times before...
Today is the first time I have thought that we are going to fall behind BOTH Manchester teams this year.
MC are going to strengthen with real quality and MU will do the same especially with Sneider.
If AVB's comments today are true about Evolution and not Revolution then we are in trouble...
You can't play free flowing attacking beautiful football with players use to winning by brute force..
I fear unless we strengthen with some real quality were in serious trouble...
I hope I'm wrong...

Believable15 Unbelievable1

No, don't think that you're wrong and I feel the same way. I know that AVB has to be diplomatic, but some of the things that he's saying is mind blowing. I hope that he's just letting some of the old timers down easily, but if he really believes the stuff we're in trouble. It's almost like he's a puppet of a board who doesn't want to spend and is hoping that our "legends" still have enough gas in their systems to see us through to another CL spot...

Some people will say that it's still early in the season, but watching the same lackluster performances from certain players that we saw most of last season is troubling.

Agree11 Disagree1

The club spent 75 mill in January. They're in the process of adding a brilliant young keeper to the books and will add a few more players as well. Keep the faith. Utd have moved really well in he window though, whoever chelsea buy, its going to be some task to win the league this year.

Agree0 Disagree7

"They're in the process of adding a brilliant young keeper to the books"

Great example... is the guy even going to play for us this season? I heard that he may get loaned back to Genk. Hilario just signed an extension and unless Turnbull is sold I wager that the same 3 keepers from last season will be just that: the same 3 keepers from last season.

So we paid £75M for 2 players last January. Big deal. The guy who we paid the most for (£50M) gets next to no service from greedy players who are well past it. Unless we get some creative people around him he could be the biggest waste of £50M ever.

Now tell me something that will help us NOW.

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Torres cant play there

Agree6 Disagree0

Essien is injured for 6 moths and you have Torres in the wrong position put torres where drogba is and take off essien lamps and drogba and put in benayoun sturrage and ramires on

cech
inovanovic Luiz terry cole
Benayoun ramires de rossi
sturrage aguero
torres
thats how it should look like and not have essien on hes INJURED for 6 months he will be greatly missed I hope he makes a speedy recovery god only knows whats going to happen without essien

Agree1 Disagree8

"your opinion ed ?"

As they have stated a million times before, they don't comment on possible line ups.

ace05... you could at least learn how to spell some of their names

Agree8 Disagree0

If we play Torres out of position he will only sulk again.

What is AVB playing it? Still evaluating the squad, sturridge going out on loan & bosingwa first choice right back? Looks like a very long season and painful season for Chelsea.

First 11 next year
Cech
VDW Luiz Terry Cole
Modric Lampard ramires/mcearchan
Sturridge Torres pastore
What do you think? Wasn't sure about left foward

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Di Maria for left forward

Agree9 Disagree0

One of the most realistic I've seen so far

Agree0 Disagree7

Didn't think of di maria:)

Agree0 Disagree4

That's ok. This looks good. I probably give it 75% of success.

Agree2 Disagree7

Pastore doesn't play there.

From what I saw yesterday, Sturridge and Torres don't work well together.

Agree7 Disagree1

First of all pastore can play anywhere in front of a defensive midfielder, secondly it was one game, you need to give the squad time to gel.

Agree0 Disagree3

Give me a break... I've actually watched Pastore play. He is best when he roams behind the center forward, breaking into open areas in the center of the box receiving passes from *real* left wingers. I've never seen him in the "Robben" role.

More time to "gel". That's a laugh... it's the same bloody squad as last season I'm sure that they know each other by now. And it doesn't look like AVB has introduced any drastic change in tactics.

Agree3 Disagree0

I couldn't think of anyone for left forward so put pastors there but someone said Di maria who I forgot about so think it as Di Maria not pastore

Agree4 Disagree0

Di Maria makes more sense than Pastore as a left winger.

No one ever mentions the Japanese attacking mid/2nd striker Keisuke Honda from CSKA. He would cost a lot less than everyone else mentioned and could you even imagine the shirt sails in Japan? They would more than pay for his transfer fee. He'd certainly be an huge improvement over Malouda...

Ok let's start from a negative situation: We do not get Pastore, Aguero, Neymar, Sanchez, Modric, Di Maria, VDW. Who else is out there that would be of interest? What do people think?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

De rossi, santon, fernando, rolando, subotic, lukaku, de bruyne, sneijder.

Is it me or does everybody else thinks Modric's agent is an idiot? Signed a 5-year contract with a no buy out clause?

Believable3 Unbelievable7

I don't think that many players in the EPL have buyout clauses in their contracts actually.

Agree4 Disagree1

"I don't think that many players in the EPL have buyout clauses in their contracts actually."

Totally agree.

And for the person who voted "disagree" to your comment, I'd love for him/her to post the massive list of Prem. players who have an buy out clause written into their contracts. I can wait...

What a mess this transfer window is. On one hand you have opportunistic agents who manipulate clubs and media and on the other disollutioned players who just say what their agents advise them. I say we make what offers we need to make and stand back watching this madness from a distance.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Is this your first transfer window experience? It's been this way for years...

Neymar's representative, Wagner Ribeiro, says Barcelona are the more attractive option for his current club.

Ribeiro claims Barca are prepared to wait until after they and Copa Libertadores winners Santos have competed in the Club World Cup in December, which would enable Santos president Luis Alvaro De Oliveira to honour a pledge he made that Neymar would lead the team at the tournament in Japan before moving to Europe.

Ribeiro told www.as.com: "The exact situation is as follows: Barcelona want him next year and will pay next year, Madrid want him now and are prepared to pay now.

"The main problem is that the kid (Neymar) wants to play in the Club World Cup against Barcelona, and Santos are using their force to make him choose Barca.

"The numbers being talked about by both clubs (Madrid and Barcelona) are good, but Neymar would prefer a move to Madrid."

Ribeiro insists Neymar will make a final decision once Brazil's involvement in the Copa America is at an end.

If we don't sign neymar or sanchez what other wide men will we look at? also had a thought, do the EDs know all of the players Chelsea look at and keep an eye on or do you get surprised by some of the comings and goings? {Ed002's Note - Folks are always going to be surprised about some of the things that happen.}
