Sadly I don't believe Arsenal. would sell to us. Also maybe the player himself wants to leave the country.

Doubt it would happen but I'd love Sanchez. If we're sticking to 3-4-2-1 we need to aim for someone like Sanchez or Dybala as an upgrade on Pedro. Pedro's been sensational this year and he will be fantastic as rotation for the cups and champions league. Pedro and one of either Musonda or Loftus-Cheek would act as good rotation for a big signing and Hazard. If we switch to 3-5-2 though we need to do all we can to sign Verratti.

hi ed,

bit of alternative question.
whats your thoughts on English teams becoming better in European football.
obviously about 10 years ago they were about the best, between united and Chelsea they were mainstays for a semi final place for a good few years, and going back Liverpool were thereabout.
Barcelona seem to be coming to an end of an era to me and whilst real are a dominating side I only predict decline for atletico in Europe over the coming seasons.
so that's spain, for me, on the decline.
Europa league is different of course.

germans, RB leizpig are way off performing well in the CL id guess. Dortmund won't continue as they have done for the past few years imo, and are on the decline in UCL like atletico. this leaves Bayern who I don't doubt are top 2 with real in Europe.

psg and juve are great but that's just 2 teams and I wouldn't expect roma or Monaco or any others to really step up in the near future.

then you look at city, utd and Chelsea and they are real prospects. 3 of the best managers and plenty more money to add, id fancy one of them to win the UCL in the necxt few years and plenty of semi finals.

basically, do you agree that English teams will start to rise now or are we going to be stuck with cheering for a quarter final for a while longer? i've found the CL quite boring without an English team doing well the past few seasons.

{Ed002's Note - It has been a bad couple of years or so - it will pick up.}

Next year we will comeback to UCL and you will have something to cheer about at least to semi finals :)

History says it works in cycles, I started watching football in the 90s and it was the Italians, juve and Milan, then towards the end going into the 2000s Spanish, Madrid and Valencia did well, then a few years of free for all, then English clubs had a good 3-5 years then, Spanish again after that, Bayern and Dortmund have had a good couple of years, it defiantly seems as though in the next 2-3 years it will be England's turn again,

i watched the terry and gerrard interview and long for the semi final battles with liverpool again, would love to be battling those english sides deep into the competition like old times. some of the most exciting games.
