I've long since believed that referees in the Premiership are total rubbish.

Yes, Alonso should have been sent off against Briighton but some of the tackles on Hazard were outrageous and went without punishment.

The Premiership will be a lot poorer if Hazard suffers a serious injury and spends a prolonged period out of the game.

Surely, referees can see that Hazard is being targeted.

What's hilarious is how in MOTD they made Alonso's foul a talking point but completely refused to acknowledge the fact Hazard was being kicked around the pitch for 90 minutes. Every single game Hazard has to deal with it, and the refs almost never protect him and allow the opposition to as you said target him and try and kick him off the pitch. It wouldn't surprise me if that's one reason why he wants to go to Madrid, at least in La Liga the standards of refs are much better and their star players are protected much more.

The wolves game was by far the worst. 17 fouls they finished game with and 2/ 3 bookings? . Hazard Willian were just constantly stopped, to the point were Moutinho stopped a break away and was booked and then made a foul minutes after when hazard left him, ref blew up for it but no booking. But it happens every week so won’t be stopping now.

But thay foul by stepehnson (or whatever his surname) on hazard was minimum yellow card a d could have easily been red.

On the side note. Ed001 why does ed018 dissapeared?

{Ed001's Note - he has not, he is usually about during games, he just has busy work periods and he has a young family nowadays.}

Just want to put a post regarding Pedro. He's under appreciated and very underrated he's shown he can be great in the right system and he's got goals in him.

Yes you will often see me slating Willian, Morata and Alonso on this page but I've got a lot of time for Pedro. Fantastic player and even so he's a fantastic professional. Never stops running.

I agree KK. Pedro is a top player.

My problem is consistency but on his day, he is so good, and without banging on like i do. his movement is superb, runs from really wide in behind.

Pedro is quality.

He is good player, though I believe that he needs rotation as sometimes when he starts 2-3 games in a row he goes missing.

I don't know why, but I've got a feeling that we'll see a top player join us in January, that we don't expect, and one that the media hasn't really been mentioning. It's not really based on anything other than the fact that Kepa seemed to come out of nowhere, and it is afterall just a gut feeling, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us make a big signing, that none of the medias have been talking about.

Realistically we desperately need a forward if we are to have any slender chance of winning the league. I think if we remain in contention by the time January is here then maybe we look for star quality, otherwise it will be a stop gap and I suspect we will push for Wilson. Not entirely sure my self but anything is better than Morata on current form.

Rumours regarding Pulisic are gathering pace and maybe he is someone we sign in January or may be we complete the deal in January for him to arrive in the summer. I think it's clear that he is the perferred choice for the right sided midfield position. It makes sense because he should be the one that is easily attainable and is of star quality.

I can't see any other transfers unless any of the targeted defenders become available.

Three players definitely out and maybe a fourth who’s going, will make some fans happy.

One supposed top player joining and the club are working on a second player but his club don’t want to sell him this window.

Sarri’s signings have been very good so far but Pulisic doesn’t convince me. We desperately need someone who can score goals and Pulisic doesn’t.

Slight change. Now looks like we have definitely got two of our targets in the upcoming window.

Ed001, do you think Callum Hudson-Odoi's the real deal in the sense that he can start for Chelsea?

Also, which other players from our academy (Christensen, RLC, Tammy, Mount, Reece James, Tomori, Aina etc. ) do you think are good enough to play for us?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - the problem with all of those players is the same, it is lack of experience (I know they need to play to get experience!) and then showing the right attitude, desire and willingness to improve allied to putting in the effort, that they lack. All of them are actually good enough technique-wise. However it is the last little bits that go to make the difference between a player making it and not that they have to show. You only truly find out when adversity hits them. Do they work harder to get back in the team? Do they moan about how unlucky they are and turn to props such as alcohol to hide behind? Or do they just sulk? If they do the former, then they have every chance.}

17 Dec 2018 09:23:35
Ed, then what is the right way to keep the players?

Guys like CHO look at Jadon Sancho and are unwilling to sign new contracts and go on loan. Neither can they directly become a starter at a big club yet.

So, how do you make them get experience without losing them permanently?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you have to give them more time on the pitch as subs and in an otherwise full strength team. Also run with a smaller squad and use them as the injury back ups, rather than having 3 players for every position. It is a risk, but it is either that or you have to buy ready-made players.}

Thanks, Ed001. Logical points raised.

Really hope we don't panic but someone like Callum Wilson in January. There's no point signing squad players any more we've got plenty of them and youth also. Unless we can sign an Icardi (which will never happen next month) then we might as well save it till summer. We may as well persist with Hazard as false 9 with Giroud as back up.

I definitely think we can improve LB and RW in January though. Sarri obviously doesn't rate Emerson so the only way to get Alonso dropped is to sell Emerson and buy a quality LB. Ben Chilwell is a fantastic young player who's ever improving I hope we go for him in January.

As for RW I hope we don't agree a pre agreement with Pulisic he's not what we need. His stats are awful he's similar to Willian in terms of output. 60 million in him we'd be better off starting Hudson-Odoi and putting that towards a striker. We've never replaced Robben so let's sign a left footed please. Nicolas Pepe has been quality for Lille and Thauvin from Marseille I kno Thauvin failed at Newcastle but the move was simply too soon.

So basically I think players like Chilwell and Pepe/ Thauvin are attainable in January. This as well as getting rid of players who aren't good enough or don't play. Moses, Morata, Drinkwater and Cahill for a start.

I'm with you KK - I just don't understand what all the fuss is over Pulisic - I have seen him play 4 or 5 times and he's never overly impressed - £60m being quoted by Dortmund for a player that can't get in their starting eleven!
