Ed would Chelsea be interested in Wesley Sneijder at the right price? I think if Salah goes on loan he would be ideal to bring in. I know he woul be cup tied for the UCL, but with the run in for the BPL, he could be a great addition. Maybe get him on a 2 year deal or something. What's everyone's thoughts?

I think it's a shame our young players don't really get a regular spot in the 7 subs named. Maybe a good rule would be 2 of the seven must be from under 21's or below. We have some really good talented players but if there not in and around the first team by 21-24 then I don't see them making it at chelsea. Take mccecharen and chalobah for example, players who promised so much coming through but don't even play regular for their loan clubs. I'm just comparing these youngsters to a young Rooney who at 17 was playing regular football in a top team. Oscar, hazard who also have been top level in early 20's. I just don't want to see us as a club who spend spend spend, instead of giving someone like RLC or baker and boga a chance. Looking forward to seeing bamford hopefully given a chance next season, reminds me of a young Robbie fowler.

Most games we have one on the bench with zouma. The issue is our squad is rather deep and by putting someone like RLC or boga on the bench then someone like Rami or Schurrle won't be able to or travel.
I also struggle with the mceachran struggles is related to chelsea. Believe me I was hoping for the world from him but he couldn't crack it at any of the clubs we sent him to. It's one thing if it's one club but he's been on about 4 loans and hasn't had much success. Then you look at someone like courtois, kdb, and lukaku who thrived while on loan and you realize the system isn't broken.

I have been involved in grass roots football for years, FA qualified coach and currently manage a County FA Youth U'18 team and belive me, if they are genuinely good enough, coupled with right attitude ( so important ), they do make it through. Some of the names mentioned, JM is good example, frustrate me and other coaches as well.

Thank you TK, simply put. Loan out a young Rooney, Hazard, Oscar Neymar. etc and they shine at their loan clubs because they are world class talents. Practicing and playing with the 1st squad doesn't, in my opinion, make a player world class, in fact when you go on loan to a lesser teams in a lesser league you should be head and shoulders better than most players there if you're a world class youngster. A lot of young players all over the world show immense potential as youngsters which often doesn't materialize as they get older, except for a special few.

You have to put young players in and stick with them - Harry Kane looked awful last season but look at him now.

Lifelong Chelsea fan making my first post!
I've just seen a short interview with Felipe Luis after the game last night and he speaks much better English than some of the players who've been there for a while!

Rami is getting very little play time. Such a shame he is a good player who deserves more game time. possibly a Jan transfer for him??

Mourinho mentioned in the post-match interview following the Hull game that Ramires is not match-fit. It has taken him longer to recover from his injury against Man City. Mourinho mentioned that he is only okay for 15-20 minutes per game from the bench for the next few weeks. I think he is a key member of the squad and don't see him going anytime soon. I could be wrong though!

Thanks very much. missed that interview. Good news

Sorry people but I have to post this: ATM there are serious negotiations going on, wealthy Arab investors are trying to buy Olympic Marseille.
If that happens we'll have another big club in Europe without any FFP pressure, so we can expect inflation regarding players transfers & salaries.
