I understand that I will regret this when he flops after Rafa is gone, but is it really a good idea to sell FERNANDO TORRES as soon as he shows some proper form?

I realise this is the clubs biggest chance to get as much money for him as possible, but he seems pretty confident he will stay. I trust ed002 that he will leave, but in the end, he has a contact and I don't see a way we can push him out? ED?

Thoughts {Ed018's Note - sometimes it is just time to move on}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've always supported Torres and felt that the circumstances of his arrival etc hindered him. I'd be sad to see him go but he's not reached the heights he was known for and realistically we can't keep someone on his wages to play a bit part role with the new incoming striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually think keeping him, while buying a new striker will be good for him, he will be more motivated to do good

Rafa has come out and said today that chelsea will spend near £100m in the summer. Who would other Chelsea fans buy in the summer if they had that to spend? Has to be realistic! Here's my choice:

Son Heung Min / Aubameyang - £15m
Papadopolous - £17.5m
Gundogan - £17.5m
Isco - £25m
Lewandowski - £25m

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Godin 15m
Hulk 35m
Cavani 45
Khedira 15m

A little over 100m but be nice to see along with de bruyne back?

Agree0 Disagree0

I have watched Papadopoulos from the start when he was playing in Greece. The boy is a force. Proitos

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewandowski - £30m
Aubameyang - £15m
Muller - £25-30m
Gundogan - £15m
N'Koulou/Papadopolous/ Another Fast, Strong CB - £15m
Shaw - £5-10m

Slightly Over £100m but Buys Us CB Cover, A LB For The Future, A Fantastic Passer In Midfield, Another Great AM and Two Strikers, One Bieng Pacy and Versitiale Who Has A Great Shot and the Other Has The Potential To Be A World Beater

JMJW

Cavani
Schurrle - Because we need an out an out winger
Khedira
Papadopoulous

Cavani - £45m
Varane - £25m
Gundogan - £20m
Duelofue - £10m

Total - £100m = Multiple Titles and Cups

Cavani - World Class ST, to replace Torres and to bring some fear to the spearhead of our attack.

Varane - Has the potential to be the best CB/most complete CB in world football, fantastic talent.

Gundogan - Complete footballer, can tackle, dribble, set up the offense and has the vision and skill to be a playmaker from deep.

Duelofue - Finlly an out and out winger who can provide cover on the RW, has the potential to be very special.

PB1989

Agree0 Disagree0

Lukaku, DeBruyne, McEachran, Chalobah, Kalas. Would be sufficient to compete on all fronts.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Cavani- 45m
schurrle- 20m
xabi alanso- 10m
isco- 25m

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe there have been bids of €70m for Cavani which Napoli have turned down before. Hulk/Muller certainly aren't viable options. The most likely would be CfcBenWxm.

From targets we've been linked with I think the most likely would be:
Lewandowski/Cavani
Schurrle
Isco
Khedira
N'koulou/Papadopolous/Inigo Martinez

Isco is unlikely but someone I'd love to see as he'd be able to interchange easily with the three amigos. Khedira for me would be surplus unless we get rid of someone as Lampard, Ramires, Mikel, Romeu and Luiz play there and Oscar possibly. Schurle back-up for Cavani/Lewandowski alongside Ba. A CB to strengthen at the back and allow Luiz to play at CM.
Inigo Martinez for me is a great prospect. Great ball playing CB similar to Pique.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well JMJW, nice to see how up to date you are that you don't have a clue reference Shaws value, that Ed 002 has said repeatedly Shaw will not move in the summer, Shaw has said the same and Saints have done too!
Keep on dreaming!

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually I recall Ed saying that it was unlikely that Shaw will move this summer, however interest from Arsenal could force us to move for him this summer. Just the way we did last summer for Oscar. The fact remains however that he will be moving, this summer or the next.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd go for:

Cavani-60m
Gundogan-20m
Shaw-10m
And keep the rest. A big issue with the club is having too many players (many of which will never play a role). I think this summer is big in terms of bringing people in but also moving people out.

Tk

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, It ain't Too Realistic, I Know We ain't going to Get Muller Either, Hence The Question Who Would You Like To Get For £100m, But there's Every Chance We Could Get Shaw As An Un-named Poster Said

JMJW

Agree0 Disagree0

Cavani -42 million
hueng min son - 12million
gundogen/strootman - 16 million
shaw - 5 million
and if we get rid of terry I would get hummels for 25 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewandoski 30m

Papadoupolus 17m

Gundogan 25m

Schurrle 20m

Agree0 Disagree0

You need to sort out fact from fiction, reference Shaw. You sound like spoilt kids that if you want something then it will happen. Well, you had better start looking into the facts of the situation and you will quickly see that Shaw has no need, or interest, in being a back-up or one for the future (as you have referred in recent posts. ) He is already into the England Under 21s and playing EPL week in week out.

He will not risk his progression just because you want him at Chelsea. Will he move in the future? Maybe. But by the time that may happen you might find he has better options than Chelsea (can't see Bale beating down your door, and Shaw will be better than him!)

I have said it many times on here, your club has real problems showing it will give good young English players a chance. Your history under your current owner is totally against you on this, and it will take several seasons of reversal before players like Shaw feel they will get a real chance. Fine for the youngsters who want the money and happy to sit on the bench or go on loan but if you bothered to check up you would see that Shaw is not one of those. Neither will he be tempted by Arsenal, he has AOC as a warning there!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact from fiction? Fact is Southampton sell all their quality prospects before they become world beaters. How many have left Southampton when they've been at the top of their game?
IF we signed Shaw this summer we'd likely loan him back to you for next season. If we sign him next summer, depending on his progress next season, he could come in as first choice. So first choice at Chelsea or first choice at Southampton? Easy decision.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also better options than Chelsea? There's perhaps 5 better clubs than Chelsea atm. We are ALWAYS challenging for titles or trophies every season regardless of off-field changes.

Agree0 Disagree0

'Good English players a chance'. Last 10-12 years has Chelsea not had at least 2 players start for England's senior men's team along with youngsters on under 21 and other national youth squads? Have we not contributed just as much as any other bpl team. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? True some didn't get to our 1st sqaud because they wernt good enough just like youths from overseas but we're trying to win trophies for our fans not put out mediocre product as a farm team for England, there are already enough EPL and championship teams doing that already.

Hi ed018

I would just like your opinion on four players you think Chelsea will buy this summer? {Ed018's Note - I can give you four I'd be happy with. Cavani or Lewandowski, Schurrle, Khedira and a center back}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can I Ask, Why Khedira Ed?

JMJW {Ed018's Note - I think he's a good player and since there is interest in him I'd be fine with him}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd prefer Gundogan. Alongside Luiz them two would control the midfield

CfcBenWxm

Agree0 Disagree0

ED018 I've not seen much of him, what sort of game does he have, is he physically gifted? More attack or defense minded? Looks like an south american playboy ha.

PB1989 {Ed018's Note - yea physically he's got all the tools.when given the freedom he's a good box to box midfielder. Better passing than Ramires. He'd be a good addition}

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst I understand the need for strength in depth, the Khedira link confuses me if there are no outgoing CM's. Lampard, Ramires, Mikel, Romeu, Luiz all play there and also De Bruyne and even Oscar. I'd be happy if Khedira came but I simply don't understand it unless someone leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

My Preference Would Be Gundogan Too, Fantastic Ball Distribution

JMJW

Agree0 Disagree0

Lampard is a legend but I don't understand the signing. McEachran needs to be sold and Chalobah needs loaning next year along with De Bruyne. Congested or what lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Khedira isn't what we need. Gundogan is!

Thanks for you quick response ED, Could Sami Khedira Be Chelsea's Next M. Essien! Jose signed Essien when he came to chelsea! isn't Khedira the same type of player as Essien? There are rumours of him leaving with Jose if Jose comes to Chelsea as we all anticipating! {Ed002's Note - Khedira is indeed an option.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 May 2013 16:54:19
I consider Ramires a more versatile version of Khadeira.

Agree0 Disagree0

More versatile but in DM not as disciplined. These are players we need. Depth in squad and competition.

Agree0 Disagree0

Khedira is a great player, but in my opinion he isn't what we need. We need someone extremely good in the transition phase, good with both feet, and moves the ball quickly. Gundogan is this man!

Ed constantly said that lamps will possibly leave but could sign a year deal and I think lamps was leaving but his goals have forced club to give the deal so CHEERS ED FOR AS USUAL RELIABL INFO and sorry about the abuse and people who want you to, go out on a limb and guarantee players in and out

Matty {Ed002's Note - Sadly that is not what they see Matty.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cheers Ed, very reliable as always only person I believe about transfer rumours. so thanks for that. {Ed002's Note - Sadly folks don't read the detail then start on me - so nothing more to that level of detail.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope my post didn't come off as sarcastic in anyway, I do genuinely only listen to this site regarding transfer rumours, and understand the situation with lampard and don't see why people feel the need to give you grief when you are providing us with information we otherwise wouldn't be able to get.

Ed002 regarding Lampard signing a new deal what changed? Any chance the new manager who will be coming in wanted to keep him? {Ed002's Note - Don't read too much in to it. I explained it as it was and said that there was a chance he would get a new deal. I should have done no such thing given the vegetables are out now and giving me grief.}

I was never in Rafa's side. I still ain't. got to tell you, he did a good job. but would I want him? never.
my problem with Rafa? I'd rather not bite my nails every single match. there's no confidence in the team. we don't even play like a team. won almost all games on individual brilliance. teams like steaua Bucharest and Rubin Kazan made us look average. I'd prefer our opposition to know there's no chance of beating us. like it was and should be.

bdw, in ideal conditions, I'd prefer ancelotti over mourinho.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm not a big or small fan of rafa, but I think he played the best players available in our squad so far. Let say chelsea offer him contract extension, then he can buy players and adding more confidence to the team. Just my opinion, cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't disagree more with your rubbish Taby, Rafa was the only manager in over 2 seasons that never parked the bus, even with an early lead. Also our defense was much better organized and defender took on their man early up the pitch instead of retreating to our box. If we didn't play as a team why did we have more passes just about every match and more possession most of the time, if anything at times we needed to be more selfish and take more shots on goal. And lastly, I'm not upset Rubin Khazan gave us a good match after they beat twice the same Athletico team, with the great Falcao, who embarrassed us in the Super Cup.

Message to Ed18
The situation with Falcao is not as clear cut as you indicate.
The FFF (French Football Federation) has told Monaco FC that they must move their administrative office out of the Principality and be subject to French taxation. Presently Monaco pays no tax on player salaries or purchases (the high rate of tax in France is 75%). This issue has gained significant momentum within France as the club has a 'significant' unfair advantage over all other French clubs.
Ultimately, if Monaco does not comply then they could be expelled from the French league.
So any new player transfers to Monaco will have some hurdle to overcome.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I heard that the chairman of Monaco suggested that all French clubs move their offices to Monaco as a joke in response. AHA I've heard alternatives suggested that they pay some sort of fee instead? {Ed002's Note - The alternative is Monaco move to Serie A.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Clubs are not allowed to move countryies ed002 r u stupid
Crcfc {Ed002's Note - Sure, I am stupid.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed surely there would be many complications to such a move and wouldn't Italian clubs have the same issues as the French? {Ed002's Note - Why?}

Agree0 Disagree0

If you're asking about why it would be complicated then, which league would they go in, if serie A which team would they replace. And for the other thing I said. The French feel the taxation laws create a unfair advantage. Surely they'd still maintain that advantage in the Serie A?

Agree0 Disagree0

Crcfc, Welsh teams play in the EPL. And didn't Rangers recently consider trying to join the English league when they were demoted to the 4th tier in the SPL.

Well done chelsea. congraatz. I have said here before. by hook or crook rafa will get it.
He is only manager to win europeon trophy with 3 different clubs. Hi Europeon experience is matched only by few real madrid or barca managers.

6 months job
top 3 finish
Europeon Cup
Fa cup finalist
70+ gmaes
One striker
0 Budget.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

70+ games? One striker? 0 budget? You do make me laugh Harry. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story, ey mate ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Rafa has done a fabulous job, I had my doubts (mostly because of the bizarre substitutions he sometimes did at Liverpool) but his tactics and his organisation skills mostly were first rate especially in Europe.
If he stayed away from his moronic substitutions, I knew he would be a success.
We should have gone to the FA cup final also, Aguero should have been off, that would have been most probably another trophy.
The players are happy, improving all the time and performing, so let's continue this.
Rafa you deserve to get a 4-5 year contract.

My view keep most of the players except Mikel (disgraceful), Benayoun (past it) and Paulo Ferraeia (past it).
Add KDB, another striker and a defensive mid.
Don't get me wrong I admire JM a lot and if he comes I will be very happy, but why stop something good.

chelsea were already out of CL, you were 4 points out from the top, But RDM just won 2 out of his 8 match before getting sacked.
new players. continous booing, new formation, was out of work from past 2 years.

yes or no.
if chelsea wouldn't come calling, Jose mourinho would have been sacked?
won nothing, fell out with the media, owners, players.
and tell me why was he sacked at cheslea at first time? mutual consent?.

No big stories buddy, simple yes or no will do it

Agree0 Disagree0

You've asked about 8 questions mate so I don't see how I can simply answer yes or no.

Jose hasn't been sacked, ever. He delivered RM the title with the highest points total in Spain. He made 2 CL semi finals in 2 years. You, like most, don't appreciate that it is not him that has fallen out with the squad. A couple of members of the squad have fallen out with him. The manager is the boss. If players want too question him, in a public forum, they should be dropped for causing unrest in the camp. The same players that didn't turn up too the Bisons bday party, because they "had better things to do". The squad at RM is a shambles. No cohesion. Solely down to ego's that think they are bigger then the club.

I'm positive only a month ago you came on here, posting as a Chelsea fan, saying if Jose comes back we will be guaranteed the league. We will smash all infront of us. Now your tune has changed because, like you prove on the lfc page, you are as fickle as they get. You listen far too much too the media and base your opinions, on theirs.

If Chelsea didn't come calling PSG expressed interest in Jose, as I'm sure did others. He has his pick of the bunch. RM cannot afford too pay out the clause in his contract that would be invoked if he was sacked. He would stay and see out his last year. Without doubt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jose took Porto to be European champions, what do you think their budget was. They didn't have a ready made team of European champions.

Lets sure wait and see the next season.

real madrid is worlds best team. you are supposed to do the job simple. and he did nothing this season. and he actually is getting the sack. he has fallen out of every player in the squad.
cant believe he doesn't rate casillas?.
he wanna quit because his achievement was to win another CL. which he couldn't.

Great result, though I think Benfica played a better game. Obvious we missed the craft of Hazard and though our defence done well I'm not convinced. Cahill iffy and not controlling/dominating enough and he should and needs to be. Luiz is great in the role he was made for (Beckenbauer) he reads the game exceptionally well and has the ability for the killer pass. Super Frankie Lampard, FFS Roman keep the guy he's a star that continually performs at the highest level. Nando, excellent game works his heart out as always get another striker to play with him in a 4-4-2 and we'll be sweet next year.
I'm in aus and watched the game this arvo (setanta coverage is s***house) so beers are starting to take control. Signing off.

The question I'm asking my self thismorning is would RA consider giving RB the manager's job now that he has won the Europa league and garanteed a place in the champions league, as to be honest he has had more success with the club in Europe than JM did. As I said edd's just a question.

Just curious guys, when did Europa stop being a Mickey mouse cup? I'm all in favour of it myself, but I seem to remember some comments from u guys a while back when you were still in the CL? Also, since when did winning the EL make anyone Chamions of Europe? I think Bayern or Dortmund will have something to say about that!

Congratulations

Congrats to the boy, now we can sing champions of Europe for another season!

Really missed hazard today, I feel like he doesn't get enough respect by the footballing world. I think he is the third best player in the world right now and will only improve.

Benfica played some great stuff today and got their tactics spot on. I still feel that the main area we need to strengthen is in the mid field, if the xabi alanso rumours are true, he or gundogan are the type players we need.

Next we need to get rid of benayoun, malouda, hilario, mikel, Essien, Torres, and Paulo f. We need to add a lot of depth to the squad by first bringing back KDB and lukaku, sign schurrle and another attacking mid maybe. Then comes the age old question of who the centre forward we should sign is, my vote goes to lewandowski or cavani.

Get the special one back and go to work and win the prem next season with moyse and pelligrini settling into their new jobs.

And play with more drive and passion. This has been our weak point this season.

Im sorry but we aren't champions of europe next season. I enjoyed winning this trophy but to sing champions of europe would be embarrasing.

Can I say how absolutely gutted I am we didn't win world club cup?! That would of been double European and world chipped and players like lamps and terry and Torres would of win it all.

All along ed has said there is slight chance of frank getting a deal and after what drank said last night that's looks correct so cheers for info ed.

Next season with frank playing a bit part and hopefully de bruyne there who is absolute quality all is needed IMO is 25 goal a season man. Cavani hopefully then lewandoski if not. Then I'd like a good winger to play with mata and hazard. Tello maybe I just don't think shurrle is anywhere good enough. Hulk would be my number one any day. Then a centre back so Luiz can play in middle. The benfica CB looks good or athletico Madrid CB?
Imagine an attacking force

Hazard. Mata. Hulk
Cavani
Speed power class and skill behind a deadly striker, behind that you could have any one if lampard Ramires Oscar de bruyne mikel ake

Great result in the end, however, looking at our bench tonight at 1-1, you really did wonder where the goals were going to come from.

Tonight showed us how good Hazard really is, we really missed him. This summer we really need to secure another 'Amigo' to slot in with rotation and injurys along with attacking and defencive reinforcements. Lewandowski, Garay and Isco/Schurrle for me, along with KDB and Lukaku returning from loan. (possibly Courtois if he's not sent back on loan)

With Mourinho at the helm, we should be a force to be reckoned with.
