I think a realistic outcome for this transfer window is as follows:

Hiddink in as manager, bringing Arda Turan to replace Zhirkov.

Van der Weil for Bosingwa

Modric for central midfield

Neymar to sign at the 11th hour.

Sturridge back from loan and being used much more. Anelka and possibly Mikel being sold.

one of the following from Lukaku, De Bruyne, and possibly Pastore

I do not think we will be held to ransom over Sneider, Sanchez or Aguero.

Lamps, Drogba, Kalou and JT all reserved but with reduced game time

I still think that Sparky will be the next Chelsea manager, especially now that McLeish appears to be going to Villa. Gourlay's comments about when a new manager will be announced seems to coincide with Hughe's being able to sign with another Prem. club.

And do Chelsea really need to put extra money out (Turkey FA) for compensation? I'd rather they spend that on a player.

Ed, if a modric bid has been rejected, would that effect Chelsea's interest in Sneijder?Personally I really want Sneijder to join Chelsea. {Ed002's Note - I don't know.}

Modric is CM, Sneijder AM he scores much than Modric who is very usefull playmaker.

Personally, Modric is the perfect signing, to play along side Lampard next season, then with Frank Lampard taking up coaching role the season after next, Modric will become a 20 goal a season midfielder.. What's the likely-ness of Modric becoming a Chelsea man? Are we faverouites? thnx in advance. {Ed002's Note - Modric - 20 goals a season?}

Modric is CM he doesn't score 20 goals for season. You were probably thinking about Kranjcar he is AM but doesn't scores 20 goals per season.

LOL 20 goals is a bit optimistic for a "playmaker".

I'd rather he have 20 assists to Torres tbh...

Ed, hopefully we go for both Pastore and Modric but out of the two, who do you reckon we will bid highest for? {Ed001's Note - Pastore would cost a lot more to secure.}

Gourlay said we would only be bringing in 2/3 players this summer, but surely if we plan to refresh the squad that's not enough?

I totally agree. Gourlay must have been sleeping during Chelsea matches this season. I don't care who the new manager is, they can only do so much when the elderly players that we have are well past it!

For all the Chelsea fans who want Neymar, I don't know how many of you watched the match last night but neymar got pushed off of almost every ball. Was carded for diving and rolling around and in general did not look good. I know its only one match but I think he'd struggle with the physical side of the premier league. I could be wrong

ED001, I thought Chelsea were interested in Pastore to fill the Creative role? Is he out of the question now? {Ed001's Note - I don't see why both can't be bought? Modric has been playing as a central midfielder, Pastore in front of central midfielders and behind a striker.}

Ed, is Pastore strictly a CM. Or can he play other positions. {Ed001's Note - as far as I know he is just an attacking midfielder, never seen him play anywhere else.}
