After todays supposed deal in principle to sign Oscar, Wikipedia have decided to change his current club to Chelsea on his dedicated page saying that Chelsea had bought him for 25 million on the 16th July. I know the deal is not complete until the club annonce it and i remember them changing Hulks club to Chelsea and whats happened there!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Anyone can update Wikipedia.

Anyone else slightly concerned that we are becoming a bit lightweight, really hoping Essien will come back to form. Dont get me wrong its good buying all these small flair players but we will need strong box to box players to challenge in the League, step overs arent worth much away at Stoke on a Tuesday night! Id rather push Piazon through rather than this Oscar and spend the money on another Essien type player, got a feeling this will come back to bite us again and again in the league.

Was thinking same thing loosing all our power houses strong players made us what we r today!but a change might be good would prefrer a mix though

Fellaini is my shout or obvs move David Luiz further up the pitch
ChelseaL

Agree1 Disagree2

Not necessarily so, we still have a tall defence though i realise this is not uncommon. Also our midfield is not small when you factor in romeu and mikel, furthermore players that have been considered small, such as Ramires, are often quite muscular and able to outmuscle opposition; Hazard is considered fairly stocky. Also our youth and reserve teams have some notably tall players, such as chalobah and lukaku. I do not see it as an issue especially as the areas in which we are less physical is the attacking third not defensive and, as we all know, physicality in the league is decreasing and fouls more readily given for tackles which would of been considered fair in the past. Our style of play is likely to change as well; previously our attack was focused on a target man, Drogba, now it will be more about quick movement and passing.

Rowan

Agree1 Disagree0

I pointed this out a couple of weeks ago. We built an unbelievable team with powerful players, which is now being dismantled for small attacking players. I think you have to get the blend perfect, look at Man City, they have Aguero and Silva, but have a massive powerhouse like Yaya Toure making sure they win the midfield! SHED END youre bang on with what you say, I'm not his biggest fan but maybe Fellaini is worth a shout, amazing ball winner and never loses a physical battle! I think we should play Ivanovic RB, forget this Marseille kid! If we're going to play with small attackers, we need big defenders!

Chelsea Nick

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree 100 percent. Look at city they have silva nasri aguero and tevez who are all tiny but they have toure and Barry/de Jong. I can't see what Oscar would bring that piazon doesn't besides being a couple years or less further along. That being said I want another Ramires type as when he played he was a completely different side than when he wasn't and idk of we can rely on essien to turn back the clock or close. Spot on entire post mate!

What a day!

Oscar's agent claims we ended talks but now apparently we've been successful with a bid of £25 million!
He'll be in England tomorrow with the Brazil olympic team so hopefully this deal can be wrapped up quicker than originally thought.
Still a lot to do for the deal to be complete but it's on the right tracks at least!

I wonder if people will still add Oscar and Schurrle to their 'fantasy teams' as the deals for those 2 have taken a step back today

Yet again more reason to wait for a contract to be signed before fans on here start getting ahead of themselves

Anything new on wallcott? Herd hed rather chelsea than liverpool {Ed002's Note - No idea.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

He would without doubt choose us before liverfool no champs league again and no chance of winning the prem easy decision theo i'd say.

Agree1 Disagree0

Walcott won't leave Arsenal.

I wouldnt be suprised if both him and rvp stayed. Rvp had one good year but seems to think you can call all the shots but teams realize he's only had one good year.

Oscar's representative, Neto: "I believe that it is difficult for Chelsea to make a counter-offer for the player."

Right now, we are no longer in talks with Chelsea

So ED are we no longer interested? {Ed002's Note - THere is interest in the player as I have explained. An offer was put on the table and as the club has said they want more. That is where it is.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Was the price that chelsea offered far of what they want ed? {Ed002's Note - "Far" is a very subjective word but I understand it was something that perhaps could be negotiated. However, as I explained the other day much would need to be done to have the player agree to a move to As I said - it has some way to go. He is very young and perhaps someone will take the opportunity to show his folks around London whilst they are here. Maybe Oscar could take a look at Piazon's apartment overlooking the Thames. It is a big move for a youngster. How would a 19 year old Dennis Wise have gotten along if he had made a move to South America?}

Chelsea to sign Oscar, Hulk, schurel, And Erickson.

RB? Cahill Terry Cole

Erickson Ramieres

Hulk Mata. Hazard

Torres

Subs: schurel, Lampard, Oscar, Marin, Ivanovic, De Byrne, Mickle and Luiz

Don't believe we need any new keepers a we already have a good set up there. Would like to see McEachran, Lakaku and roumeo all go out on loan to premier league

Exspensive but Red hot team!
Jonesie

Believable0 Unbelievable7

I disagree with you saying we are fine for keepers, i think we need a new back-up, someone like John Ruddy (doubtful tho) would be perfect

Have you ever heard of jamal blackman ? ross turnbull ? hilario ?

Courtois? We don't need another GK.

Why the hell would we want christian eriksen when we have mceachran & de bruyne who can play thr. plus if we had eriksen, ramires, mata, hazard, marin. we need atleast a big central player like ballack in the squad more than eriksen or modric

16 Jul 2012 15:49:27
can anyone give me their opinion on hulk, i've seen him play 2 times, an unflattering performance against barcelona in the super cup and a friendly for brazil in which he scored so i'm not sure about him, if anyone can tell me anything about him it would be much appreciated

trueblue012

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think his name defines his positives. Body balance, stamina, Raw strength ( his left foot is a Rocket launcher), has an eye for a pass, quick off and on the ball . That's pretty much it , but then again like every super hero Hulk has his weeknessess. He doesn't track back, has a horrible Right foot, can go missen in big games ( like you pointed out ), for a big guy he goes down far too often and moans about it when the foul isn't given.
Just my opinion mate hope it helps.

Your personal opinion , Ganso or oscar ?Who would you rather have ? {Ed018's Note - I'll start it off and say I'd prefer Oscar.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Oscar

FT9

Agree2 Disagree0

I've been a Ganso admirer for a while but after reading his player profile I tend to agree with the ed who wrote it, an I don't know a lot about this Oscar chap, but it looks like where looking at the right players to move us forward!

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd say ganso if money was no object, but, considering it would probably cost double the price of oscar, i'd go with oscar. ganso is certainly not twice the player, so why pay twice the price

trueblue012

Agree3 Disagree0

Oscar of ganso and moura of ganso and neymar over moura

Agree2 Disagree0

If Ganso could stay injury free then him> But if not then Oscar :)

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd say oscar brings more versatility and is a decent bit younger. That being said I haven't seen enough of either to make even an educated guess.

Don't understand why we are dragging on signing likes of Moses, Debouchy / Maicon, Schurle. Seems we are wasting time on a million here or there when we are likely to spend somewhere around 100 million plus in transfer window, we want them so sign them!!

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Well ,a million isn't a small amount.
roan

Agree1 Disagree0

What's with all the recent moaning. I think we are doing well in the transfer market. We are not gonna be paying over the top for anyone. We do need at least 2- 3 more signings and I'm sure the board is looking for not just the right players but the right price as well. Still a month and half left in the window. So mate chill.

ELI

Agree2 Disagree1

Say for example Maicon wants a 4 year deal at 60k a week, and Chelsea want to give him a 2 year deal at 60k a week.

That's a £6 million pound difference.

Michael essien sadly isn't good enough anymore

Discuss...

Jm10

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Judge him in preseason and if you decide he's not worth his wage value then you look to move him on. That being said you're gonna get pennies for transfer compensation. In my opinion he's gotta be really poor because I think he can help a lot as a teacher and he could provide an extra body in the midfield.

Tk

Agree5 Disagree1

U gotta remember he was brought back early from injury last season. he might have his best season ever this year. im 50 50 weather he should stay BLUEBOY1

Agree2 Disagree1

I can't remember the last time he had a full pre-season training? He undoubtably was poor at the tail end of last year and looked a shadow of his former self - but he may come back this season after a full pre-season!
