Anyone else watch the 3-0 win over Newcastle tonight in QF of FA youth cup? Izzy Brown scores 1, assists 2. This Boy is the one who will make it. Great talent, Tammy Abraham and Dom Solanke scored again as well. Mark my words. Izzy Brown will be a first team player.

Saw the first half. Even though it was still 0-0 at the half, those young guys were playing very very well. All very composed on the ball, not afraid to take a man on and try something on the pitch. It was fantastic football at times, very exciting. Watching the youth games is a lot of fu nowadays :)

Indeed Brown looks very good (at that level, it has to be noted) and Solanke and Abraham can't stop scoring for the youth teams.
Another player that stands out every time I watch a game is Jay Dasilva. Still only 16 but he looks like he has tremendous ability. Very comfortable on the ball as a left back and makes good overlapping runs to get in the box. His defending is also good IMO. If he can make sure to be strong enough then he's got a real chance I think at reaching the first team!

Brown and Solanke on the scoresheet again tonight. Get them two in the first team squad we don't need no 3rd choice striker worth 20 million or a great 5th choice attacking midfielder. Playing alongside the likes of Hazard and Fabregas these guys should play there part.

They are both far too young, they will benefit from going on loan in lower leagues for a few seasons & no doubt they have the credentials to make it in the future

Hi ed I don't want to know if we are or want to sign him but was more interested in whether we would have the same situation with de bruyne as with lukaku in that the club would not entertain the idea. Me personally thought he was a great player. And if the rumours of swapping oscar for pogba are to believed I would rather lose oscar for de bruyne not that I want to lose oscar! A 433 of courtois zapi zouma terry luiz matic fab de bruyne hazard cuadrado costa.

{Ed018's Note - it's been mentioned to not hold your breath on any move for De Bruyne at the moment. Personally I didn't want us to sell him in the first place and I doubt that he'd want to even come back}

There was a lot of friction between him and the club when he left to the best of my recollection.

Patrick Bamford - a lot of posters are suggesting he should be our 3rd striker next season - I can't see it myself - his workrate is suspect and I'm not sure his best position is as a striker.
Bertrand Troare is the player I would bring in as 3rd striker - he has been playing striker for Vitesse and has scored 9 in 22 (try to catch his goal over the weekend - a beaut).
Also, good to see Chalobah doing well on loan, as is Alex Davey at Scunthorpe (the new JT?). And Atsu was named Player of the Tournament at the African Nations - hope he gets some games at Everton.

Yes prop 99% of people on here read the loan report but people suggest bamford for 3rd striker as he is doing it in the chapionship a imhp a harder league than dutch prem

Agree0 Disagree0

Traore is a midfielder!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mn - The last few months at Vitesse he has been playing as a striker and doing very well by all accounts. I still think his future is playing as a right sided attacking midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

I see Traore more as a 5th choice AM, and Bamford as a possibility for 3rd choice.

But guys, Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Contract up in the summer and loves Jose Mourinho, plus would give him his chance in EPL, as well as massive income from popularity and the shirts he sells.

Ed002, any chance?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - He is not out of contract in the summer.}

I for one have been calling for bamford to be 3rd striker. His finishing is great so learning from the likes of costa regarding movement would do him good. But saying this another year loan would do him great, I just don't want to see chelsea spend £20m on someone like icardi thus hindering the likes of bamford and solanke. What a lot of fans would like to see I'm sure is the inclusion a lot more of promising young players like baker, loftus cheek etc.

I'll be kind of interested to see what happens at striker over the summer. Drogba will be retired or gone and it sounds like Remy will be on his way out. Obviously it always looks nice when you promote an academy kid. One name that intrigues me is Aubamayang. We were interested in him in the past but I'm not sure if that interest is still there in addition and there's a lot up in the air at Dortmund presently.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bamford is a striker, I am not sure he would fit into Mourinho's tactics since he would probably ask him to play outer midfielder. If we start playing with two strikers he might become second choice. Although I like Bamford.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're going to need to sign a striker regardless of who we promote from our youth players. With Drogba retiring and Remy likely to leave, I don't see JM sticking with just Costa and Bamford/Traore/etc. I'd wanted us to sign Aubameyang last season, and I think he'd be a great addition still. Guess we'll just have to see closer to the time.

Ings anyone?

Surprised nobody's talked about PSGs injury situation. Marquinhos, Lucas, aurier, and cabaye have already been ruled out, pastore being out of late, and maxwell and matuidi also picking up injuries in the game. PSG has enough cover to maintain a first eleven of big name guys but their bench is going to resemble ours vs city. I think this will prevent them from really going for it in the game and I'll be interested to see how this affects things tactically.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Still a very strong 11

They haven't officially been ruled out. I always take injury news with a pinch of salt ahead of the big games.

This going to be a really hard game lads and I would take a draw.

Yeah they have those injuries and can still throw out an eleven like: sirigu; VDW Luiz silva digne; verratti motta matuidi; lavezzi ibra Cavani. I agree that I would take a draw with goals but it's enticing thinking about getting a win in the away leg.

Agree0 Disagree0

They'll still have a strong first 11 but Cavani and Ibrahimovic aren't working well together this season. I'd hope that we'd go into the game on the front foot, as I feel it'll probably be our best option to try and strike whilst ehyre at their weakest.

The problem with going on the front foot is the chance of conceding goals. If you lose 2 or 3 nill it may be tragical
