I remembrer reading an article a few weeks ago where Cahill was quoted as saying he wants to partner Terry in our starting defense and what's becoming clearer by the day is that the only time that should happen is maybe the opening rounds of the domestic cup because Cahill is a poor defender. While he has the physical capability, he needs to completely overhaul his approach to defense and attack the dribbler instead of keep retreating to the goal post. He's simply a position defender who tries, often unsuccessfully, to marely stay between the attacker and the goal then try to block the shot attempt but he never tries to take the ball off his man. Imo, don't see him changing anytime soon, hopefully we keep Omeru on the squad along with Kalas.

Agree with PB1989. Unnamed poster doesn't know what he is on about.

I disagree with unnamed poster too. Gary Cahill saved us countless times last year and he'd dive in front of a breeze block if it was going in the net. Always nice to have his threat in the box too.

Gary Cahill is average at best and seems to be getting worse. I really don't care how many disagree because a lot of you thought Rdm was a good tactition and that D Luiz should be sold about halfway thru last season. The problem is I see things before they fully develop, true he had a few good blocks like the one in the Europa final but more often I see the Cahill against Real Madrid(terrible) and against Scotland(useless). He's actually worst with the ball at his feet than JT, the worst of our cb's and when was the last time he was on target with a header on a set piece? Time will tell what I'm on about just remember where u heard it first.

Totally agree cahill isn't a good enough centre back but what we paid is ok he's abit flat footed

Jose gets best out of players. If he ain't happy hell change what he doesn't like next season.

Is there any real possibility (if Rooney is not option), that we'll sign a striker?
Believable0

There is always a possibility. Jackson Martinez is the latest striker to be linked to Chelsea

At the beginning of the transfer window I was very excited at rumours of signing 3 or 4 world class players such as Cavani, Falcao, Sneijder, Rooney. However, i've been dissapointed and can't see chelsea signing anyone big now. Mourinho says he only wants Rooney but I believe Moyes when he says Rooney definitely isn't for sale. Give up on Rooney and maybe get E'too as a last resort (Stick with Lukaku and Torres!)

Etoo is rubbish, torres will be great under jose
Agree0

Just a spoilt fan not appreciating players like Oscar, mata, hazard, luiz, de bruyne, lukaku, schurrle, Moses, azpillicueta, courtios, Cahill, piazon, Wallace, van ginkel, all signing in the last couple of years. Just to add to existing players. I'm happy with van ginkel alone, let alone returning loanees and schurrle.
Agree0
Disagree0
I agree, van Ginkel may be one of many 'blue boys' who stand out this season.
I allso believe de Bruyne and Schurlle will be ones to watch.
Moses has had a very good pre-season and under Jose, he will rip defences apart
Agree0

Eto'o is not rubbish and Torres is a spent force. We should swap the two
Agree0
Disagree0
And Eto'o isn't a spent force? I'd snap someone's arm off to have the Eto'o of 4/5 years ago and I posted this before. Not now though. I'm happy with what we have. a good mix of exciting young players new to the league, experienced campaigners and players who've just adjusted to the PL. I expect a lot from Schurrle, De Bruyne, Hazard, Mata, David Luiz, even Lamps at times. Any additions are a bonus (preferably a striker), but not imperative.
Obviously only my opinion.

LJ, age apart, have you seen Eto spend the last 2-3 missing the chances Torres has or even being gun shy the way he's been in some matches with what many would regard as more than half chances? If yes, then Eto too is spent.

Im a united fan but would love Oscar or KDB at OT. So envious of your midfield options!

People, don't just say players like Willian would be a good signing.
We have 6 attacking midfielders with Thorgan Hazzard likely to come back after this season.
JM has said that he is looking at developing the youth players, so Willian? He is not an option
Agree0

Bruma would be a better option than Willian. I agree, we don't just buy players because they are available

Mata might not start against hull having only played 45mins pre season
yaya won't be scoring as much this season as he will play CDM
if you mean ash williams in DEF then have a look at swansea's fixtures - utd, spurs, liverpool, arsenal in the first 6 weeks
other than that great

12 players mate.
Might need to sneak the extra one on myself ahaha.
I'd take out Hart for someone I'm swayed towards Mignolet personally and also take out Ruiz and put in Snodgrass cause I rate them a lot.
Good luck mate.

Dear Ed's, did anyone at Chelsea ever consider to move to Twickenham Stadium? {Ed044's Note - I don't think so.}

Chelsea is a big club, has supporters all over London, England and all over the world. It's 7.6miles from Stamford Bridge, it's in west London, it doesn't matter is it in Chelsea or not.
Agree0

Stamford Bridge isn't in Chelsea Ness, I think he just means its too far away from our current stadium. (Which I agree with)
On your logic then, Manchester United could move to Beijing if they ever want to relocate, after all, they have plenty if fans there!

But Manchester U aren't trying to move.
