How many people would give up the f.a cup final and the game v barca if we could take fourth spot now.I know I would rather take fourth and start a fresh from next season, hopefully with mourinho back.Plus getting champions league football next season would attract the top players around like cavani,Lavezzi and di Maria.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

In a heartbeat. Let's be honest the chances of us winning the CL is slim to none. With that said it is fa cup or garunteed 4th place which is rather simple.

Agree1 Disagree3

If you dont believe that there is a chance we can win the Champions League then there is no point being a fan, this is our job

SHED END

Agree3 Disagree2

Totally agree shed, noone saw Napoli coming right?

Mojoe

Agree3 Disagree1

To be honest we all want to believe we can beat barca ,but then again if I got an offer to forfeit the game and get 4th spot and the FA cup I would and try again next season with an improved squad and a much better chance of beaten them or any other "top team". And don't be mistaken Napoli and Barcelona are two very different teams. I'm not saying we can't beat them, just giving my opinion to the original post. It is football anything can happen. Hoping and Praying for the best. Up Chelsea !! -BLUERAY-

Agree2 Disagree0

The sad part about all this is you will not be able to pick and choose will you? Barcelona will beat you comfortably (probably winning both legs. Liverpool will win the FA cup. On top of that you have several players who are coming (very quickly) to the end of their career (in the top-flight anyway)- ampard,Drogba,Terry, and that spanish player you have on the bench quite a bit doesn't seem to be improving. Looking at this overview you must be quite depressed?

Puzzled

Agree3 Disagree3

So who do you support 'Puzzled'?

Agree1 Disagree0

Ha mate ur a joke atleast well be signing and replacing players with class, not players like henderson, enrique and carrol

Sorry, but i just can't help, but put this up once again, from a little different perspective, though. I went through a few clips of this season and i completely stand by my opinion, that this season is the worst in the career of Peter Cech at Chelsea.

And when you come to some certain agae and your performances drop, you must expect the inevitable. I am given stick for not being a "proper" fan by some moron, but i never slate our players, not named Bosingwa. I just say the things as they are.

I love Peter Cech. I think he is my favorite Chelsea goalie of all time. He was one of the best before that terrible Hunt injury, but why fool ourselves saying he ever came back?

Do you really want to keep on ignoring the facts that everybody who is not biased to our club sees? He is a defensive liability from set pieces. Look, with players like JT, Luiz, Brana, Cahill, Drogba, and ACole at the line we should be an envy of the whole league at corners. But we can't help conceding in the situations.

I was completely disgusted with quite a few of his performances recently and the games against recent Fulham and Spurs are one of the highlights.

It pains me to see him drop in form so badly. And you can't blame the high line for conceding into your close corner, or rushing out too late, or being out of position, or anything like that. He is just as bad while playing for the national team.

And before you come disagreeing, i want to point out, that in my opinion, he is still one of the best goalies from the open play.

He was never the best goalkeeper, with Buffon, Casillas and VdS around. One of the best - yes. But surely not anymore. I think he will have a decent career for quite a few years. We surely have someone who should be challenging or replacing him next summer. He is no better than Hart, no better than Krul or Reina, he is a good goalie and has value in him. It is time for a change here. Trust me. A lot of you were rioting here when i said that AVB has to go, look at how it turned out for us, and it actually may as well turn good for AVB also.

JG

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Fair play JG, I'm the one who criticised you, but I was more concerned at how negative you were being towards drogba's Chelsea career. Cech isn't as good as he was, however he was the best, Casillas is heavily overrated, VDS was class, Buffon was good but in my opinion, Cech WAS better when both at their peaks! I respect some of the things to say but I just can't believe anybody can criticise Drogba's overall Chelsea career.
Chelsea Nick

Agree3 Disagree0

Il be honest mate im not as concerned as you are, i think if we we're to prioritise there would be 5 or 6 other areas that need addressing first. Whats the alternative, we're gonna get Courtios back in a couple of seasons, who would we get as a stop gap thats better than Cech? i would put Cech above Reina on recent form and on par with Krul whos had a good season. Be careful what you wish for we could do a lot worse than Cech and not much better

SHED END

Agree2 Disagree0

Chelsea Nick, i put the club before and above any player or manager. I never liked quite a few players we had and still don't, but i support them because they play for Chelsea. There is nothing wrong in not liking Drogba. I just don't. I never grew to like him. He always had some things about him, that i couldn't stand and it just won't change. This is my honest opinion. And you may have yours, but for the sake of this page, lets just skip the ad hominem comments out of the scene.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you Shed. But at the same time, he looks decent just because we have much more glaring needs right now. I would prefer the club brings Courtois back and have a competition. I think Cech only had a couple of games off this season, hasn't he. Just ask ACole of what does it do to your body at this schedule.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah dont get me wrong mate i would take Courtois back next season, i think hes playing to a similar level as Cech but for me its not an issue having Cech in goal for another season

No matter wot happens this season I want RDM to be given a long term deal AND let him see out that deal! Buy players HE wants and for Roman to BUTT OUT of team affairs! Just supply the money that's all Roman has to do and let professionals run matters on the pitch!

Pinky

We owned the yids

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Oh yes, give the money and get out of team affairs. And where is the fun of having a football club then? Why do that? So that you can have fun, while he is supplying the means? Come on, please be more appreciative for what he has done. Wouldn't you want to be a part of something that you own? It is just not logigal and is not happening in the real life.

Some owners get fun by dragging money from the club for other ventures, or private leisure, why would anyone have a problem if our owner wants to buy Shevchenko or Torres? It's like we haven't won the trophies in that span, or what?

JG

Agree0 Disagree1

M8 bore off Roman has made us a laughing stock by getting rid of managers every season! Look at Utd a club that Fergie is top dog cos HE knows the game and HIS owners put faith into HIS plans and that's why they are so successfull and we are not! Choping and changing the manager doesn't work cos who is ever is cummin in has always gotta work with Wots there at the club already! Wot ever good things Roman has done for the club he gas undone it with bad stuff! I mean we had Jose bloody mourinho at the club and Roman let him go weather he sacked him or just let him go just shows he is clueless! Carlo done the double sack him a year later cos we finished 2nd! U might wanna put up with his crap I Dnt

Pinky {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have been very successful taking action when things are not going well.}

Agree1 Disagree2

Yea so sucessfull by dropping out the top 4 wake up

pinky

Agree1 Disagree0

Everyone makes mistakes, mate. Scolari's hiring was a mistake and AVB was probably premature. The problem with so many people in the isles is that SAF has been around MU more than most have been walking. Why do you think that hwving a long term manager somehow guarantees success? This is awfully ridiculous statement.

A top manager makes a whole lot of difference, but a even top managers wear out their welcome. Real do not have a problem changing mangers and being a top club, neither do Barca, or Milan, or Bayern. Aren't these the top clubs in the world?

So please let it go, will you. If we are a laughing stock, you know, there are clubs more to your long term liking. I could explain quite a few decisions, like the one to sack Ancelotti, but i doubt you'll be ready to comprehend it.

This team has been let mature in to big of a quantities and that has let us down thelastcouple of seasons. We'll come back strong, believe me.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Bore off then pinky if u don't want to put up with it. Chelsea's success is down to roman. Simple!!

Roman till I die!

Agree2 Disagree0

Easy pleased fans! ageing team that roman has left to grow old and hasnt looked for replacements! chelsea going out the top 4 for many of year but yet sum supporters are happy!

pinky

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more, give RDM the job. Advise him were you foresee the club in the future, but put your faith in him. He clearly wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to Chelsea, and I for one think Its refreshing to see.

Ed, whats the chances of Kalo signing a new contract? And do you rate Sergio Roberto, as I believe AVB was looking at him?
Cheers

Sgt Slaughter? {Ed002's Note - There is a decent chance of KAlou getting a new deal. As for rating players, I am not really the one to ask but I am sure others will have an opinion.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Pls tell me u are joking bout kalou getting a new deal! worse players in chelsea history

pinky

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes, the team was let to mature in too big of a quantities in terms of players. But can't you see, taht we have won 9 out of 12 with the same players and different manager? Is it really a sole players or front office fault?

I trust that we have skilled and intelligent people running the club with sufficient funds for next summer. Changes are inevitable and they will come in bunches this coming summer. s**t happens. We'll be back strong.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

JG.am not saying ur wrong but i just want this club to be run in the right way and am not liking the way roman is doing that!

pinky

Agree0 Disagree0

Pinky, i understand your frustation and the actual truth is sometwhere in between. It is Roman's club and he has done much better than most "new owners" in this last decade. It is not an opinion it is a calculated fact.

Some things require time and you can't rush them. Mistakes have to made, lessons to be learned, foes among friend to show up and be let go. These are growing pains my friend. I think we are heading in the right direction. You can't blame Roman for us being out of top 4. It was his decision to write off a lot of money on AVB and do a timely change to get us back on track. It was the right decision. His decision.

Don't get desperatic over the Champions League next term. If we won't make it, so be it. We are a top club, believe me every palyer in the continent and their agents understand that as long as we have Roman around - we are a top club with top structu and facilities. Unless you are Real Madrid and Barca, there aren't many to match us.

Wages wise we only have City spending extra. results wise it is only us and United in almost a decade. We are in London, for Christs sake and some bloody Liverpool. We are a desired destination for top talent in the world. If you don't believe me, ask Ed002.

JG

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually AVB let all the old guard stay, he said every one can prove thm selfs 1st season, thn he was gunna re build but sadly he gt sacked, so dont blame abromovic you urn gratefull spoilt brat PINKY. wed still be waiting to win the league if it wassnt for RA

ED is Mata eligible to be a nominee in the PFA young player of the year? {Ed002's Note - I think he is.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

To bad Mata is gonna come second place because of Aguero who has been slightly better this season. Well there is always next year and this time Juan would be going for the big one :) . UP CHELSEA!! -BLUERAY-

On the phone again lads, just wanted to say well done to the boys against the spuds. Actually think we have a chance against barca due to the fact the boys turn up in big games, a slim chance, but a chance none the less. Expected more from the fans for the minute silence, utter disgrace and very disappointing. Lastly leave a sign off name if your going to slag off the regulars. Some utter jizz stain has ripped into JG but hidden with no name. Agree with almost 100% as usual JG mate. Melbourne CFC

Believable1 Unbelievable2

So Melbourne CFC, your memories of Drogba from his time at Chelsea is he tried to take a ball of Lampard? Not his back to goal turn and volley against the scousers? Not his long distance volley against Everton? Not his Fa Cup winning goal in injury time against Man U? If you don't want the regulars to be ripped into don't write such daft things! JG has basically ripped a Chelsea legend to shreds, he therefore in my eyes is not a true fan! As for Cech, he's been a great servant and very loyal to our club, so to say he needs to go is ridiculous! I think your stain your on about is blocking your vision pal!

Agree2 Disagree0

Thanks Melbourne, but i am not finished there. I'll remember him for making a complete ass of himself in consecutive CL appearamces. Where was he again, when we were shooting penalties in Moscow? Oh, being red carded for having his own personal battle with Vidic' above team interest. "zees izzz a fakin digraaace", now that is something to teach your children of how a true Chelsea legend has to act when being hard done by. Or all of these long hours laying on the ground, grimacing, diving, calling for medics, all of these antics, god damn it. That is exactly what the legends are made of. Surely on par with Osgood and Zola. A true legend, indeed.

To All Chelsea fans

Life is more important than football, there are always low life who tarnish the good name of the many and yesterday tarnished the good name of Chelsea Football Club.

I hope the few who broke the silence yesterday are totally ashamed of themselves.
Yesterday you all had a good day safe in the Knowledge you your sons and daughters and loved ones would not come to any harm whilst watching a football match, sitting safely on your seats, with professional organisation, stewards and fistaiders at each corner.
23 years ago mothers and fathers, sons, daughters and best friends, went to watch a semi final with the same excitement and and anticipation as you yesterday and never came home.
It has never been about Liverpool football club, it has always been about the Justice for 96 innocent souls, who left home one morning and never came home.

The Justice Bell:-

A schoolboy holds a leather ball
in a photograph on a bedroom wall
the bed is made, the curtains drawn
as silence greets the break of dawn.

The dusk gives way to morning light
revealing shades of red and white,Â
which hang from posters locked in time
of the Liverpool team of 89.

Upon a pale white quilted sheet
a football kit is folded neat
with a yellow scarf, trimmed with red
and some football boots beside the bed.

In hope, the room awakes each day
to see the boy who used to play
but once again it wakes alone
for this young boy s not coming home.

Outside, the springtime fills the air
the smell of life is everywhere
viola s bloom and tulips grow
while daffodils dance heel to toe.

These should have been such special times
for a boy who d now be in his prime
but spring forever turned to grey
in the Yorkshire sun, one April day.

The clock was locked on 3.06
as sun shone down upon the pitch
lighting up faces etched in pain
as death descended on Leppings Lane.

Between the bars an arm is raised
amidst a human tidal wave
a young hand yearning to be saved
grows weak inside this deathly cage.

A boy not barely in his teens
is lost amongst the dying screams
a body too frail to fight for breath
is drowned below a sea of death

His outstretched arm then disappears
to signal thirteen years of tears
as 96 souls of those who fell
await the toll of the justice bell.

Ever since that disastrous day
a vision often comes my way
I reach and grab his outstretched arm
then pull him up away from harm.

We both embrace with tear-filled eyes
I then awake to realise
it s the same old dream I have each week
as I quietly cry myself to sleep.

On April the 15th every year
when all is calm and skies are clear
beneath a glowing Yorkshire moon
a lone Scots piper plays a tune.

The tune rings out the justice cause
then blows due west across the moors
it passes by the eternal flame
then engulfs a young boys picture frame.

His room is as it was that day
for thirteen years it s stayed that way
untouched and frozen forever in time
since that tragic day in 89.

And as it plays its haunting sound
tears are heard from miles around
they re tears from families of those who fell
awaiting the toll of the justice bell.

Justice for the 96
