Hi all,

Ian McGarry said on Fivelive that CFC had 'not ruled out' allowing Mata to talk with Manchester United because they are not considered competition. Is there any ongoing likelihood of this happening? Or even some sort of deal involving Rooney? I can only assume that any interest in Rooney is separate.

I don't think it's because we think that they're 'not competition' - more likely that Rooney will be part of the deal either now or in the summer.

Sorry Mrs Drogba, but could you refresh my memory when the last time clubs did a straight swap of players, let alone in the prem? The most unlikely, uncommon outcome of the possible situation mate. It doesn't happen. Matic is the only time I've known of it happening at Chelsea, off the top of my head, and that was for a player plus cash, furthermore it was as a makeweight for an established quality player in exchange for cash and a reserve who didn't look like making it.

Matic signs, majority here are happy but personally I don't see much of a difference with Mikel. Just a slightly taller verson of Mikel IMO.

Really . :/ . The guy can pass forward, support the attack and good presences in the air on set pieces.

I bet you were one of the group of people who were slagging Mourinho off after the stoke loss away. And now because you're bored you want to pick on someone else. Wa****s like you do my head in just being so negative. Mourinho knows the area in the team which need strengthening and with Lukaku back in the summer we will have a very powerful side.

Lukaku plus Rooney - unfortunately Mata will be leaving.

It looks like Matic is on his way, rumour has it his medical is soon.

Matic confirmed he is leaving Benfica, saying: 'The game against FC Porto was my last. I want to improve, I want to play in a better league and I want to go to Chelsea, a club I also love. I insisted on leaving because I think this is the right moment.'

I'll be pleased to have him back he is a giant and a brilliant player. Start games with him as the shield and rami going box to box, if we're shutting teams out, him and mikel or luiz will do the job. I remember watching him when we played benfica, great range of forward passing, he has all mikel's qualities and more and should chip in with more goals than mikel too.

Matic is 1.94m, 6cm taller than Mikel.PResembles more Y. Toure than Mikel although he doesn't have mussels like Toure. IMHO he is kind of player Chelsea needs.
