So with the post I mentioned earlier this week. If Mikel left would everyone be happy if Chalobah or Ake took his place next season? A lot of people mention youth but we would only have 3 big players filling up two positions in Matic, Fabregas and Ramires. If two of them were injured or suspended would Chalobah or Ake handle it in a big game?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We'll never know if they can handle it if we never give them a chance though. I don't know about Chalobah, I've almost never seen him play so can't comment on him. I like Ake though, he's not flashy but defensively he's sound, not afraid to go in for a tackle. And on the ball he's not too shabby either. Of course he's no Fabregas on the ball, but his passing is tidy and I think he can play some incisive passes as well.
I wouldn't mind Ake being 4th choice in midfield. Maybe he's not the best option, but I wouldn't mind it.

WE NEED BARKLEY!! Even if we have to sell Oscar. Next season Barkley has to become Chelsea player.

Are you f'ing kidding me? BARKLEY! Scored a goal has he? He's not even that good, well over-rated IMO. His goal tonight would have gone wide if it weren't for that deflection which made it look so good. And he's not a defensive midfielder either.

Agree0 Disagree0

His goal has nothing to do with it. Watch him play. Everton is completely different team without Barkley. If any player reminds Fabregas that is Barkley and since he returned from injury he is playing on CM position. IMO it looks like his natural position.

Agreed, can they cut it? Martinez would be my choice, can cover centre back as well

Agree0 Disagree0

Certainly don't need to sell Oscar :/ really winds me up that people say he's a genius when he's scoring 30 yard free kicks but should be sold to get others? Ridiculous, from what I've seen of him he don't look the type to cut mourinho's work ethic, talent no doubt but I wouldn't sell Oscar for him!

Agree0 Disagree0

S88 we need serious back up player in case Fabregas is not able to play and I can't see better option than Barkley. I am kind of person who would rather sell Hazard than Oscar so I've just said if we have to!
But I am also absolutely confident that we can afford Barkley without selling anyone.
To GoE- it's true Barkley is not DM, but Fabregas is not DM as well. You play two DMs when you play 352 or 3421.
Recently Mourinho was forcing 4141 and most recently 4411 was his first choice formation.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed018's Note - don't start with that selling Hazard talk. Makes no sense}

I wanted to express how much I like Oscar! It has nothing to do with Eden Hazard simply ATM Hazard is Chelsea most valued player.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't believe you'd even entertain that thought in your head, for someone who claims they know a lot about football I think your a few sandwiches short of a picnic on this one

Really sorry for Van Ginkel. It's reported that his latest injury will keep him out for about 2 months. The guy can't seem to catch a break. This season must be disappointing for him as well. I thought that if he played a full season he could be a rotational midfielder for us next season. Big shame about all the injuries.

Why Ross B? We have Oscar and Fabregas who are both better plus a young lad called Jeremy Boga who is a special talent. Why do so many people want new players? We have a fantastic squad with great young players in our development squads. We should only now be interested in the very best. Pogba, Varane etc.

Hey ed001, who do you believe will get relagated this year?

Other opinions welcome, too hard for me, but I think Burnley will survive, and Leicester if they get Pulis

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I think Villa are in real danger, terrible manager, awful players, they would be one I would consider in danger.
Difficult to say for sure as a lot depends on managerial changes, but I would go for Villa, Palace and Burnley myself. Danny Ings is injury prone, so likely to miss at least one more lengthy period during the season and Burnley have no one to score the goals without him.}

Yep! Villa are in danger! Forgot about them.

I really like Sean Dyche, and I like Boyd, so I reckon they'll be fine, didn't realise Ings was injury prone though!

Palace haven't been The same without pulis, think you may be right

Burnley is the only team i'd feel comfortable putting money on. They have a good manager so won't make a change there and have stated they won't blow their budget to sign big players (who can make that difference). A lot will depend on moves made between now and the end of the season. I certainly would like qpr to go down as they're always up against us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite tough to call for me. I think West Brom will go down without a new manager. Same with Leicester. Not sure who else though.

On the other side, I'd want Middlesbrough to be promoted.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with you fuser, I want Middlesborough, Bournemouth and Derby to come up

Haha remember last year when PSG were slating Chelsea on Twitter after the first leg when we lost 3-1 well guest what . They're at it again! These guys just don't learn do they thinking they're better than us.

PSG haven't even improved. they've signed a 50 million cb that's one of the dodgiest in that position there is. A good central midfielder, but not a good defender. Haha I can't wait to put these guys in their place.

Thing is we've improved massively! We've got Courtois back, a world class striker in big Diego Costa and our most important player available this year IMO. NEMANJA MATIC. Yes the beast can play. Not to mention our bench including Cech (who may leave), Zouma, Filipe Luis, Ramires, Schurrle, Remy and Drogba.

Can't wait to put them in their place. Second legs at home to. let's SMASH UM!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Loving your posts! Agree with everything you've said, let's put them in there place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's not get overconfident now, lads ;-) But yeah, we should definitely be able to beat them!

Agree0 Disagree0

The best thing lads is not saying a word not even when we send them parking for the second season in a roll.

See the trick is we are in a different class and being French myself (Marseille) I can tell you they ain't even the biggest club in France so let's save our words for the big boys.

Come on Chelsea :)

Garden of Eden you have forgotten Fabregas.

Cheers. I made a big mistake there

Agree0 Disagree0

ELI, how are you feeling about Beilsa and Marseille this season, what a difference he's made.

Shame you lost yesterday

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Aaron mate he has been great I do have to admit that when it comes to supporting a football clubl I am blue, Chelsea blue through and through but it's really good to see the first club I watched live back up there and given the parisiens a run for their money literally :).
Most of it is down to Bielsa, the energy in the team, quick play is really fun to watch and I do try to when I do have time.
I think he is really showing what a good managers can do.

We will be meeting P$G in CL

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well, beat the best to be the best I guess. It'll certainly be very very tough, but we should go through IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah. I definitely don't think they will be easy to beat. I do however believe we will manage to beat them, but it'll be close

Agree0 Disagree0

We can beat them! Will be good to see David Luiz back at the bridge!

Would've preffered pretty much anyone else but as others have said we've taken big steps forward and I'm not sure if you can say they've upgraded.
