Torres just does not fit into chelsea
style of football, Shevchenco was the
same type of player, fast, get behind
defenses pass and move footballers. Andy
Carroll suits chelsea style of football
much more and would be a perfect replacement
for Drogba. Solution to Chelsea's and Liverpool
problems is to swap Torres for Carroll.
Andy Carroll cannot play Liverpools system either. {Ed002's Note - But Torres will not be going back to Liverpool.}

Really..... Carroll? Have you ever seen him play?

Agree5 Disagree4

Seen Carroll play for Liverpool
Seen Carroll play for Newcastle,
Seen Torres play for Chelsea
Seen Torres play for Liverpool
Seen Shevchenco play for Chelsea
I've tried knocking square pegs
into round holes many times
and also tried pissing into the wind!
some things in life just don't work.

Carroll is a good call in a team like Chelsea. torres should be sold in Jan while hes still worth a few million.

Agree2 Disagree0

Id swap carrol 4 torres plus we want 20 million. f*** it.

CHELSEA'S £30M NET GONZALO HIGUAIN

ABOVE: Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is a £30m Chelsea target Chelsea are preparing a £30m offer for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain
15th December 2011 By Danny Fullbrook
CHELSEA are preparing a £30m offer for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The London club are ready to move in January in a bid to boost their strike force. Rookie boss Andre Villas-Boas has severe concerns over misfiring hitman Fernando Torres.

And there is still a chance that Didier Drogba could follow Nicolas Anelka out of the Stamford Bridge door.

Villas-Boas will do everything he can to hold onto Drogba but he considers 24-year old Higuain to be a perfect back-up, or even a replacement as the Ivory Coast striker gets ready to go off to the African Nations Cup with Salomon Kalou.

There has been no official contact between Chelsea and Real Madrid over a possible transfer. But it is understood that the Blues have made their interest known.

Higuain is also being chased by mega-rich French club Paris St Germain who are interested in the former River Plate star.

Higuain is fed up at playing second fiddle to Karim Benzema at Madrid and being left on the sidelines by boss Jose Mourinho.

A source close to the player said: “Higuain is unhappy at being left out all of the time. He wants to fight for the title but was on the bench against Barcelona at the weekend when Real lost 3-1 and he knows where his place is now.

“He would be interested in what people have to say to him.”

Villas-Boas had originally targeted the summer for a move for the striker, but with Anelka agreeing a move to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, and Drogba and Torres’ futures up in the air, he has been forced to bring that forward.
What are your thoughts on this ed? {Ed002's Note - What bit, you seem to have just cut and paste it from somewhere else. If you have a question could you paraphrase all this and ask it.}

I wouldn't have thought so, Lukaku is far too raw as a player to be able to come in and replace Didier straight off. There could be a way in which Sturridge could fill the role, but unfortunately that would likely mean integrating Kalou into the starting lineup. I still personally think Torres has a very important and successful role to play.

is torres actually gunna start again? i think he has more to offer than drogba! At least he is trying unlike drogba who is waiting for mata to give him a tap in every game!

Chelsea should buy Dembele from fulham. A very good player that would fit in well at the bridge.

I really do rate Dembele, i dont think hes a natural goal scorer but could play a bench/sub role like Kalou does for us.

This player has really impressed me in recent weeks also.it's this type if player we should look at and not players for £30m plus

Agree1 Disagree2

Dembele also impressed me greatly, especially against the Spuds and Gooners, as I may well have said in an earlier posting. He's an attacking midfielder as much as a striker and offers far more in all round play than most more specialist strikers -- would be dynamic addition with similar energy to Ramires.

This saturday would be a perfect scenario to start Torres and I'm not talking about starting him next to Lampard malouda and kalou. I'm talking give him a go with the first teamers. As much as I would love to believe AVB is saving him for January I can't, those games were far too important to not play your ideal starter. They're playing a weak Wigan side which would be good for confidence since he has none right now due to avb's managing. If it gets to January and he hasn't had any real time before then you might as well field 10 guys because he (or anyone else for that matter) won't be able to function in that situation. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea will play the best available team to win the game. Another way of looking at it is to make use of Drogba whilst he is available.}
