What type of player is belotti can anyone tell me? Never seen him play? If the interest is to be believed, is he a squad player or replacement for Costa? Thanks in advance.

Top scorer of PL playing in a team who sits 7th in the league. Yes he is overpriced :D.

It's kinda a funny one but last week sky sports said arsenal will do all in their power to hold Sanchez not a week later Wenger saying they won't be held to ransom. I'd say Sanchez is trying to force a move away whether it is this season or when his contract runs out! It made me laugh such a quick change in response!

All this negative press on Lukaku I think is ridiculous.

He is the top scorer in the most difficult league in the world. He's going to score 25-30 league goals this year for Everton and that is world class form. I understand he has his flaws but who doesn't?

Costa, is an awful dribbler and runs into players all the time, he throws himself to the floor and can only play well for half a season.

If you point out a players flaws only, they're going to look terrible, as I just did for Costa.

I will be extremely happy with the Lukaku signing and I'm sure every other Chelsea fan will be if we do end up signing him. He will score goals, he'll love the club and he'll give his all I'm sure of it.

Never should have let him go in the first place. Can't understand why people don't like Lukaku, but love Costa.

I not lukaku's biggest fan to be honest, I don't think Costa is a top player either, the difference between the 2 is if lukaku doesn't score a goal you are effectively playing with 10 men, because his work rate is poor and he lacks real determination and aggression and desire.

I don't think Costa is great at finishing, or good at dribbling or passing, but when he doesn't score he will run around he will tackle / foul, basically just be a handful, the main problem I see with lukaku obliviously you got the flaws of him being lazy and, the terrible touch.

but the big problem for me is when the majority of teams play against Everton they don't fear them so they have a go at Everton, whilst doing so leaving space in defence, but 90% of teams against Chelsea will park the bus, could lukaku create a goal himself through a clever piece of skill, when the team we are playing are camped on there 18 yard box?

I've seen a stat that says Chelsea cross the least amount in the league, so basically will rely on movement, skill, clever play, and will have to take his chance because he may only get 1 or 2 a game.

I think there are a lot better technically better strikers in the world who would suit our style better and interlink with hazard, Pedro, Willian, fabregas, we don't need a old school target man where ball bounces off him and the play breaks down.

Well said standard, I've been saying for months that everyone only points out Lukakus flaws and that he is a much better striker than Costa, I understand he will have to try and make goals himself but I remember the Everton Man U game when he created a chance from his own box and ran the whole way, past bailly and blind and nearly scored.

I'm not a Lukaku fan. He doesn't work a defence, he is a target man with the touch of a brick wall. His goalscoring record is very good but Everton play to his strengths and I can't see how or why we change out style of football for him. Surely we find a player that works for our system!

I honestly didn't think he was good at all, but his goals are starting to just turn me ever so slightly, I just think he's the wrong type for our creative players, if we sign him I will get behind him and support him, but I just don't think his all round game is good enough for a team winning leagues and wanting to challenge for Europe, I've seen loads of players who score a lot of goals in a average team beacause they are the big fish in a small pond, then bang big move big money and they struggle.

That's a good response Cat, however I do disagree that when Lukaku doesn't score it's like playing against 10 men.

He can easily be a handful, the reason he isn't so at Everton when they defend deep is because he is so isolated. You put Costa in the same predicament and he won't do any better, apart from picking up a yellow or two and having the media have a go at him lol. I'm not anti Costa I'm a big fan, I just don't think his heads in it right now.

Lukaku scored a great goal last night, back to play, hold up, touch and turn and goal. Don't forget Lukaku is 23 and can improve, Remember drogba's first touch when he first arrived?

I really do believe that he is the best available striker (by saying best I mean most suitable to our play) . Only strikers which I would actually take over Lukaku is Lewandowski and Suarez. The boy is quality and will be a huge success if he signs for us.
