I've watched Napoli a few times this season and I think that, given the appropriate time and resources Sarri could build something decent at the club. This is the sort of team I'd potentially like to see us play under him next season.

OBLAK

Courtois wants to be in Madrid, I don't begrudge him that his family is there, and he doesn't seem to have too much affinity for Chelsea. Oblak is a top quality keeper, one of the best in Europe - surely the two moving each way makes some sense.

Azpilicueta - KOULIBALY - Rudiger - BERTRAND

Maybe, just maybe Azpilicueta will get his chance to play in his natural position for next season! Not left-back, not centre-half - right-back! Ruddier has been our best defender this season and I don't think Christensen is ready to cement his place in the starting 11. Koulibaly is a beast, would form an intimidating centre-half partnership with Rudiger. I don't think Alonso is defensively sound enough, but can see him going to one of the big Spanish two as a squad player. Bringing Bertrand home ticks a lot of boxes.

Kante - JORGINHO - Loftus-Cheek

Kante, yet again our player of the season (copy and paste for next season) . I hope, really hope that Loftus-Cheek gets on the plane to Russia and then on the pitch. He's looked quality for Palace this season - don't moan about him looking lazy, he's the sort of player you have to set free and just let him do his thing and he's very good at it too. Jorginho is the composer of the Napoli side, he is absolute class and controls the pace of games; he would more than replace Fabregas. If I could sign one player this summer it'd be him.

ZAHA - Giroud - Hazard

I was tempted to go full on fantasy here and put Icardi in up top, but i actually believe we'll stick with Giroud and Morata next season - hopefully bringing Batshuayi back into the mix too. Giroud offers more than Morata. I think Hazard will stay, mostly because Madrid will sign Neymar but he has to perform better - Sarri should bring out the best in him. Zaha would, for me, be a very good singing; a direct aggressive dribbler who makes things happen and scares defenders.

I’ve not watched them is Sarri one for giving youngsters a chance as that imo is what we need most from a manager as some of our youth I feel could more than make up the numbers in the first team squad for a few of the ageing players I’d like out.

I like slot of this but my opinion, if we going into new year with 30 odd year old target man ( however good his link up play is ) we are bang in trouble again. Loftus Cheek should be a regular but for a starter we could get proven quality and zaha again sometimes lack that end quality, I’d go with that line up maybe Skriniar from inter, but love koulibaly, I like Jorginho who can control game, unlock teams and work horse, maybe savic of lazio who is a pogba Esque player and him and loftus could rotate with europa league etc, and up front morata will be more settled and with new manager may benefit from attacking / possession football but player like icardi, ; options of icardi morata giroud would be great, but I 1000 % believe the only silver lining of europa is our young players will get time garuanteed, could have a fringe team for early stages of loftus Van Ginkel and Mount.

Oblak, Alderweireld, Milinkovic-Savic and Bailey would be my main targets although unlikely. Loftus-Cheek should definately return as a starter im abit worried Koulibaly might have a bit of Mangala about him.

Koulibaly is a billion miles better than Mangala.

Who does that? I don't need to watch all Serie A games to know his better than Mangala though they may be similar in body stature.

The cup final is a one off game, let's forget all the negativity and get behind the team for Saturday.

Then after Saturday win or lose hopefully the club sorts itself out over the summer, players and manager wise.

I know we're all feeling downbeat, myself included. But we can still win this cup and then put this season well and truly behind us.

I'm genuinely looking forward to the world cup next month, putting club football aside for a while.

I'll be cheering on England hopelessly as always knowing we probably won't get anywhere, but with football you just never know and if we did know it would all be so boring.

So C'mon Chelsea on Saturday and then to a summer of wonderful world cup football!

Totally up for Utd game.
Once that is over, we need new manager in place and all ins and outs sorted by World Cup. None of the usual last minute stuff and still not get who we want.
Do not be surprised to see hazard and courtoise go. As long as we get top dollar then invest well. That plus potential sales of Morata and drinkwater that could be a big kitty. But let’s buy players that will make a team and not a few individuals who look good but don’t jel. I also see Cahill pedro and Zappa out the door ( hopefully)
Could be a big summer for us.

Ok - yes or no? I think we should give Arsene Wenger a 5 year contract and give him a free rein to sort out our club.

I doubt Wenger would be interested in Chelsea cos of his loyalty to Arsenal but there's no doubt that his brand of football coupled with the quality young players that have got and Chelsea's muscle to attract quality players would create something extraordinary at the club. So maybe it isn't a bad idea Miss Darren Wood but I don't think it's feasible.

Open plea to the First Team Squad: I don't want to second-guess what's happening at the club, but if you aren't willing to win the Cup for Conte, then PLEASE think of the fans who have truly suffered this season. Take a look at the pictures of those supporters who travelled all the way to Newcastle and look at their faces. Come on, lads, do it for yourselves and do it for the fans.

We need to be so ruthless this summer. So many players in this squad are inconsistent or not good enough and we also have players who talk to much I. e Courtois.

For me the definates to stay are Azpi, Rudiger, Christensen, Kante and Hazard. Hazard has gone missing now and again but he's still our best player going forward and how many assists has he been robbed off because the rest of the team are poor? At least 10 surely.

Courtois should be moved on he's too flirty with other clubs. I'd move heaven and earth to get Oblak but unlikely. Caballero is a fantastic back up.

I'd go back to 4-3-3 personally and move Azpi back to RB. Moses and Zappacosta aren't good enough and should be moved on. I'd like to see Cahill kept as 4th choice CB with either Zouma coming back but I'd put him on loan for one more year and try to sign a leader I. e Alderweireld. Him and Rudiger would be class with Christensen as back up.

What we truly lack are two box to box midfielders who can pass and defend. We have one in Loftus-Cheek who will come back id like to see us sign Milinkovic-Savic, it's been a while since we've had a midfielder who can score from range like Ballack and Lampard could. Baka, Cesc and Drinkwater are too one dimensional. I'd give Baka one more year as rotation he might come good but I'd move Cesc and Drinkwater on.

Attacking wise Pedro and Willian just don't convince me there stats aren't good enough. Willian hits good form then goes poor again. I'd move both on and try to bring in two left footed right wingers something we haven't had since Robben. Mahrez and Bailey should be targeted then Hazard will be our main left winger with Hudson-Odoi as back up. Plenty of games for Hudson-Odoi, Ampadu and Bailey to get experience next year with Europa and capital one cup games.

Striker wise is a tough one. Does Morata want to leave? If he does I'd never keep an unhappy player. Giroud is a solid sub but if Morata leaves who would replace him. Only Icardi springs to mind. Tbh I'd love Vardy for a year or two he's electric and runs his socks off.

Please will somebody explain to me why Azpi features on so many people's list of players to retain? He used to be good in Conte's first season, but this year his crossing (apart from earlier when he planted it straight onto the head of Morata) has become woeful, and the negativity of his passing leaves me totally underwhelmed. He and Moses need to go, with a decent full/ right-sided centre back and a good wing-back to replace them.

Agree1 Disagree10

14 May 2018 14:07:10
Ok, so far two 'thumbs down'. But why should we keep him? Am I missing something startling?

Agree0 Disagree4

14 May 2018 14:40:17
I think Azi has suffered to much by having to cover in the middle and at times for Moses whose strength (? ) is going forward. I think the negative passing was not just him but from Courtois and across the back as a whole and I think it was driven but a "what in the hell should I do" mentality when we don't have a good enough midfield to take it forward.
