Guys I'm starting to get a bit tired of all the 'doom and gloom' from our fans. Ed002 has previously said that we are discussing a package with Cavani and his representatives, after agreeing a fee in principle with Napoli in order for us to talk to him. It is no secret that out of the 3 clubs pushing hard for Cavani his preferred choice would be Madrid. However Madrid's no1 choice right now is Suarez (if you don't believe me go on to the Madrid page) and that is quite likely to go through. Now, if Madrid were to get Suarez then they would need to offload even more players to be able to afford Cavani, as they currently don't have the funds- so there are many if/buts for Cavani move to Madrid. Cavani is more inclined to a move to Chelsea if it is between us and City as he wants to live in London. (This has been discussed on the City page). ed001 has claimed that the 'overall package' from Chelsea would be better than City's + let's be honest he would be the main striker at chelsea and work under the best manager in the world in Mourinho. Having said all of this though I don't think any decision will be made until after the Confed Cup so there is no point worrying about it. Also, if we do eventually miss out on him, I'm sure we would rekindle our interest in Lewandowski.

Another point that has been frustrating me lately is the way a lot of fans seem to think that Mata would be sold this summer. No matter how many attacking players we bring in this summer Mata WILL NOT BE SOLD. He has been our player of the year two years straight and was one of the players of the season last year. Our board will not let him leave I'm sure his market value would be in the region of around £30m, and I suspect that Chelsea wouldn't even consider offers before £60m.

Just thought I'd get that off my chest, but c'mon lads be a bit more positive!

I think the problem is that the press is all over the place with reports from his mum, his dad, his grandma and his Syrian hamster. Better leave the Cavani saga take its course and if he comes we will all be happy. Proitos

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice evaluation. We all just have to be patient and see. Since when have Chelsea ever done a transfer the easy way anyway?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mata could leave only to Real Madrid and only if he wants to. His price is around 60m euros nothing less, IMO more.

Cant wait to see lukaku back in a blue shirt we don't need a new striker under jose we will have a 20 year old drogba to scare defences for 10 years to come

Hey Eds. Rumours are normally asked in regards to players coming in. But I was wondering if you could give inside knowledge on the players either moving on or getting a loan opportunity at a high level. I know about Most news so far just wanted to see if anything has changed I honestly see a lot of talk about our Juan and only Left footed maestro but is this to maybe unsettle him and create media, Also with the Luiz nonsense I saw An article saying he needs to change his play or be sold. I thought he (JM) was going to have meetings with the players before he made decisions on what to do with them. I believe that Jose is a smart man and to sell a player who our supporters are in love with and see as a future captain or a player who was the leagues leading assist getter seems pretty outrageous. Also Read recently that Lucas Paizon is looking for a bpl loan opportunity. I already know about the released players and de listed I was more concerned about current core group and fringe youngsters. Keep up your good work and would like to Apologize on behalf of CFC supporters who don't know how to input Ctrl F on their keyboards!

Ancelotti plays a major role in Real Madrid's Cavani Bid, Until Real Appoint Ancelotti, Depending on how quick Real Appoint a Manager . Say up until June 21. Napoli will hold back. Hopefully by then Chelsea would have triggered the release clause to bring Cavani to the Bridge if we really want him and he wants to play for Chelsea!. Regardless of how much Chelsea has to pay, Cavani has to want to play for Chelsea for this Deal to go thru. to me its not really down to money anymore.

Just my opinion after all the rumours. Thanks to the EDS.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Surely if Napoli are willing to wait then Cavani would be? He'd want all the potential offers on the table so he could choose. Especially if he does have a preference to go to Madrid.

After Dortmund decided not to sell Lewandowski to Bayern it's unlikely that Gomez will be for sale. I am afraid Chelsea will have only one option and it will be Dzeko.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Comedy gold!

Agree0 Disagree0

So explain why this 'theory' discounts Lewandoski, Cavani, Jovetic, Higuain or even Rooney?
Deluded comment again.
EH17

Agree0 Disagree0

We will get one of Lewandowski or Cavani.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewandowski won't be easy sign, Chelsea has to compete with, MU, MCFC, Real Madrid PSG. Jovetic wants and will become Juventus
Player. Can't say anything about Higuain Arsenal seems to be interested.

Hi Ed018,

Is the interest in Van Ginkel with a view to putting him in the first team next season or for a loan? I know this is obviously very early and you probably don't have an answer to this, i'm just concerned we seem to be building ourselves a never-ending list or midfielders.

Cheers
Alessandro {Ed018's Note - I would think he would be apart of the first team if he joined.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

With Romeu maybe being loaned, Essiens future in doubt and the possibility of Luiz playing as a CB only we would need cover.

Hi eds, great work, I've 1 simple question for you, if you be kind enough to answer. Cavani, huguain, jovitic, lewandowski, rooney, Gomez, ronaldo, dzecko what are the chances we will sign one off these this window and if its likely which one?
Thanks ed

Hello guys been a while since I've posted. The transfer rumours are going crazy and the window hasn't even opened yet. When it does expect this to intensify to a massive scale due to the manager merry go round. Personally massive changes aren't need at Chelsea. A solid Centre Back to repalce Luiz who I think should take his place in Midfield sitting in front of the back four. Perhaps Alonso or Khidera ( Excuse Spelling) to provide cover when he goes on his runs. Get rid of Mikel and Essien, Mikel average player and Essien far too many injuries that have taken his best years away. I think another right sided midfielder wouldn't go a miss either as we don't seem to dominate as much as we do on the left with Hazard. Ideal player for Right Mid would be Hamsik but that is fantasy. Upfront I'd keep Lukaku, get rid of Torres and Ba as neither have shown any real desire to be part of Chelsea's future. I know the Torres lovers will hate but a little too late for me and at his age sell why we can still get 15m/20m for him. Sign a World Class striker I. E Cavani or Ledwandowski and another striker who has room to grow further. This is only my opinion and I apologise if I offend anyone not my intentions. C'mon you Blues let's hope for a good season.

Ed002 - keep posting I'm a loyal follower and you haven't let any of us down yet

Well put mate.
Hamsik would be amazing. What sort of price tag would he carry?

Hello Eds, can u please give us an update on Mikel as there are reports that he has agreed to join Gala and also, do u think Lewandowski will consider joining another club (chelse for instance) if his club do not allow him to join Bayern? Thanks.

Mikel gone! Dot get your hopes up just yet! If you believe the Turkish press then pretty much every player in Europe has agreed a deal in principle to move there!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Please god. Would be as good for the team as signing a top striker!

Hi Ed - Various articles out there stating our interest in Lewandowski. any legs in this? IMO opinion a much better option than Cavani & with a realistic price tag.

14 Jun 2013 11:21:56
Madrid to get cavani and maybe isco. Two players I wanted

Think Chelsea will now push for hulk and Gomez

Believable0 Unbelievable0

People who are awaiting news on Cavani need to calm down, he is about to take part in a major international cup, there won't be any significant news untill his participation is over! Unless you think stories from his mum constitute significant news.
And remember it is only June!

Agree0 Disagree0

Gomez or Dzeko.

We've lost falco now looks likely we'll loose cavani his father saying he prefers mardrid but he did say he will like to work with J-M so we still ave a glimer of hope I will personally prefer leavidonski

It's, Lewandowski.

Mourinho is not a fan of tika-. taka Spanish kind of football. He prefers strong well build players with good techniq. He sold Robben because he thought that Roben is too weak to play EPL-not enough strength. JMs most explored formations were 4-4-2, 4-2-2-2, 4-1-2-1-2, 4-3-3 or 4-1-2-2-1 and rarely 4-2-3-1. He prefered 4-2-1-2-1. That is why CFC will sign v. Ginkel as a long term replacement for Lampard. Short term replacement will be Sneijder or K. P. Boateng.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He sold Robben because of his injury record

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the most laughable post I've ever read.
Cfcmatt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Robbed left because his desire was to play for real madrid, and Chelsea won't stand in anyone's way who doesn't want to be here. BLUEBOY1

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we need a short term replacement for lamps? His got another season

Cfc Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Blueboy 1 the only reason Robben left is because madrid came in for him and he wanted to play for them. As the Ed's mention frequently if an acceptable bid comes in for any player who wants to leave the club will not stand in their way.

Agree0 Disagree0

Piazon looks the most likely replacement for Lamps, his movement and runs are very similar.

Agree0 Disagree0

Short term is 3 to 4 years. Long term is 5 or longer

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember well Mourinho comment back then.

It's actually 5 maybe 6 signings. Moses, Torres, Mikel and Mata might leave. Chelsea already released several players so 5 or 6 even 7 signings are realistic, especially if you sell few expensive players budget is quite high.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mata won't leave! Haven't you heard his latest comments and I quote: "I love it here (at Chelsea), he (Jose) is a wonderful boss to work under according to some of the (older) players and I want to stay and win the league with this club.
EH17

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah, so you missed the part in his interview where Mourinho already said there may be a few new buys not no mass purchases?

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea released 4 players. From that 2 are GKs. Last season active Chelsea squad was short of players. That is why MU had such advantage. To complete with Manchester clubs Chelsea needs bigger active squad. Lampard will another season but how? Last was worse than previous etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

We had 23 players on loan, even if only a couple of those return and at least one (blackman) is promoted to the side that more than offsets the players released. There won't be mass signings! 3-4 maz I would have thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

5 actually 4 v. Ginkel will be loaned for a season. Maybe domestic GK.

Hi eds and all Chelsea fans I want cavani as much as the next Chelsea fan, think he will be awesome, but I watch I recent interview and he said my future will not be decided until after the confederation cup end of so I wouldn't be checking every 6minutes to see if there's any change.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That was what most you said before we got torres!
The price tag is too big a risk; what if he comes and scores less than 25 goals a season?
Clubs should stopped being liquidated by Napoli, let him stay anf fade in Napoli.

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres was a dud when we bought him and his career was on its way down. Ask anyone at Liverpool. They laughed at us when we got him. Cavani however is in his prime, and terrorizes defenses constantly, hence why Madrid and City are after him. He will score goals for us!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2013 22:50:17

ED002 are Chelsea interested in Higuan?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would love it if we were. Scored a goal every 109 minutes compared to cavani 103 but cavani had 7 pens. Also better conversion rate and more assists.
