Use our rumours form to send us chelsea transfer rumours.

Very rarely post on here, but it's a place where I can air my grievances, I suppose.

What has happened to this club in regards to transfer activity? The names we're after lately is beyond baffling that it warrants some form of explanation. Been supporting this club since the 90's, and I can honestly say that we were more ambitious back then with who we were after compared to nowadays.

Tomorrow's reports has us linking with Andy Carroll, Richmond Boakeye and Christian Benteke. Goodness, gracious me.

Let's be honest with ourselves, two names who we've been rumoured with lately, Benteke and Thorgan Hazard, would only be purchased to make Eden Hazard happy. Heck, Kylian Hazard is 22 and we all know he's not going to make the first-team, yet he was signed to a contract - let's be honest with ourselves, he was only signed to appease Eden.

This club is crying for a new set of wing-backs. I don't mean to offend anyone when I say Victor Moses is crap. I can't name a single thing he brings to this team. Michy, on the other hand, is continuing with his impersonation of a statue whenever he's on the field. this team is crying out for goals! Morata is out of form, yet he knows full well he's under no pressure because the second choice striker provides nothing to this team.

No wonder Conte is unhappy at this club. I won't blame him whatsoever when he resigns. This board needs a wake-up call and fast.

would have to agree we also continue to make poor signings although i don't think anybody expected bakayoko to be so poor and let's be truthfull most of us where excited by his signing. but the players signed in recent years have been below average who ever sanctioned deals for the likes of cuadrado and co should be shot and so 2 the people who sold salah de bruyne lukaku bertrand.

Most of us on here are on the same waive length. 1 word = Frustration. Transfer activity of recent times is as bad as its ever been. Join the club.

The players we are linked with are an absolute joke. I don't see Man City, l'pool, Man Utd etx is. hell not even Stoke linked with players like Carrol and Benteke etc. Absolute joke. Its the norm these days.

Liverpool have really turned the corner, what a performance against City. They have some serious quality in their team. Salah, Mane and Firminho are as good as Sane, Sterling, Aguero. They are also spending money. A couple of defensive additions and a goal keeper and they are pretty much set to be competing with City as having the best first 11. Man Utd will spend their way out of trouble.

I feel we are being overtaken very quick and fast. Worrying times, especially given that Conte will leave at the end of season. Its shambles, the players probably know the coach will leave and it appears they have switched off as a result. I still we should try to sign players if availavailable now and not wait tilk summer.

Imagine if they sign another decent centre half and a quality keeper like Oblak with Keita joining also. Personally think their starting XI is better than ours it’s their keepers that let them down the most.

Aubayemang supposed to be joining Arsenal, and not even his first choice of clubs.

I'd sell Willian, Pedro, Zappacosta and Bakayoko to fund wages for Sanchez! I'd rather sign a world class player than just have 4 decent ones. Then I'd use Sterling, Ampadu, Musonda and Hudson-Odoi as rotation they'll probably end up doing a better job as well.

Definitely agree with Hudson-odi, i don't think I'm the only fan here who'd rather us have him as our back up to Morata than Andy blady Carroll. The biggest issue i have with Conte is how little opportunities he gives these young players. Musonda, Hudson-odi, sterling and Ampadu should all be starting against Norwich but we know they aren't.

When Conte has played 3-5-2 in the past with Juve he's had two goal scorers up top and two box to box engines either side of Pirlo which were Pogba and Vidal. Both have a very good defensive game and chip in with goals as well and most importantly something we desperately lack is someone who can shoot from long range I. e Nainggolan? Barkley will do much better than Bakayoko I'm sure.

Bottom line is unless we sign players who can both defend and attack then this formation is pointless and we might as well go back to 4-3-3.

I really hope we pull a rabbit out the hat and sign a world class player in january. I worry if we don't make it in the top four we would struggle to sign a world class player next season. Watching Liverpool and spuds they have so many goals in them, us on the other hand have three 0-0s on the trot.

Seems as though right now that the only possible addition - on loan - beyond the bit if a gamble with RB (given recent injury) would be Andy Carroll. Of course he can offer strength in the box, EPL experience etc but I think that this is a key moment for the club - top four place at stake, but also sense of our future ambitions and whether latter might help persaude TB and EH to sign new contracts. So absolutely agree we must make every effort to strengthen squad and breathe life into ECL and EPL campaigns by signing likes of Sanchez (would be huge for us) with his proven quality. Him and EH in same side!

We desperately need someone to help add greater menace to our attack.

Disappointment with CFC form of alst couple of weeks made greater by watching what those ex-CFC players Salah and De Bruyne have brought to LFC and MCFC in terms of attacking flair and penetration, and we may well be in serious danger of not making top 4 if our dip in energy and form continues.

Every good attacking European football team plays at least three attackers (or two attacking midfielders and an out n' out striker) .
Why are complaining of goal drought when play two attackers (one out n' out striker and one attacking midfielder) . Our defensive stats since October, 2017.

{Ed018's Note - yea, Chelsea aren’t really setup to go out and dominate a match by scoring 3-4 every match}

14 Jan 2018 16:28:01
Absolutely fuming we're not in for Sanchez when are we going to stop signing average players like Bakayoko, Drinkwater and start signing proper class players again. Ampadu could do a better job than both of them two now and the likes of Sterling and Hudson Odoi in other positions.

{Ed018's Note - Chelsea was never gonna pay Sanchez what he wants}

The club needs good attacking players and attacking midfielders. The defence and defensive midfield is quite stable (though it needs one or two more additions)
If we keep shying away from deals like Sanchez, it won't help.

Lemar wants to go to Liverpool, who are overtaking as quickly in league and quality of players. Even Arsenal are supposed to have agreed terms for the Brazilian Malcom. I can understand buying young players to develop, but it won't keep any manager happy, who wants to be the best, and be the manager of a top team.

AGREE Martin makes you wonder why hazard and Courtois won’t sign maybe they will be able to double there money else where plus looking at the ambition of the club and what players they are looking at bringing in it seems a lately it’s always are third choice player we sign.

I don't mind us not going for Sanchez as the transfer fee obviously isn't the problem, like Ed just said it's what Sanchez is asking for which is what's putting us off. To pay that much in wages for someone who's in their late 20's and has a few years max left at their peak is ridiculous. It's us not going for the likes of Mahrez and Sandro that really gets to me. All are in their peak, would like to leave, and for what we'd have to pay for them in todays market is respectable.

Good result for us with Bournemouth winning, now for Manchester City to turn Liverpool over and gain us a bit of breathing space. Not so long ago I thought we were nailed on top four and I still hope that's the case but boy do we like suspense at Chelsea.

Well, that wish went out the window. Note how both teams play with width and not frightened to pass more than ten feet. Out close quarter passing in front of a packed defence is killing us.

The last thing I want to do is criticise any player . but . Bakayoko. Bakayoko is obviously struggling confidence and performance wise so why keep playing him? Bakayoko is either: 1. young and getting used to the Premiership and will come good; or, 2. not good enough and never will be. Increasingly I am swaying towards 2.

I actually think he played really well yesterday, although that seems to be the case for to rarely. Hopefully he can become more stabile and a good player for us.

14 Jan 2018 10:57:58
I really can't understand if the board doesn't realize that we need a top class offensive player to lift Eden's burden. Yesterday EVERYTHING depended on Eden, as Fabregas contributed with absolutely nothing, and as Eden had a bad day, we showed as much teeth as a newborn baby. We desperately need someone to share the burden, and although Barkley may help a bit, he isn't the right solution for that task in my eyes. Why do we not pay Arsenal whatever it would take and get Sanchez? Or perhaps a player like Gelson Martins or that Malcom guy or perhaps even Fekir. I believe all these players could bring something that we do not have right now, and something that we desperately need.
That being said I believe things will get better, as Eden and Morata were absolutely world class earlier on, but in these dry patches a third helping hand would be phenomenal.

14 Jan 2018 11:04:25
Also, although I've never really seen him as good enough, perhaps Mahrez could be the solution? He played wonderfully yesterday, also with some really good set-piece deliveries. And the stats don't lie; he's been wonderful this season. I truly believe that we need something special up front, and if it means offloading Pedro or Willian to get that special player, I think we should do so.

Chelsea singings since Conte took over;

Luiz
Alonso
Kante
Morata
Rudiger
Bakayoko
Zappacosta
Drinkwater
Barkley

At the time, only Kante would be deemed as top class. The rest were either hit and miss. Alonso has been brilliant, i didn't expext that from him. David luiz has had a good year last season.

Signings this season have been bad. I still have slight hopes for Morata. Don't want to write him off completely but his looking like Torres at the moment. Hopefully he doesn't get to Soldado level. Rudiger is a good squad player.

I think we sold and loaned out better than we bought.

Agree0 Disagree3

14 Jan 2018 11:48:35
Exactly - we really need to show that we are a big club, and no matter how you look at it, one of the ways of doing so is by buying the players that the other big clubs want as well. Right now both Manchester clubs and Liverpool are way more ambitious, and that's only in the PL. We need to remind the world that Chelsea is an ambitious, top class club, and with Liverpool's offense and Harry Kane I feel rather insecure about a top 4 placement, to be honest. Signing a player like Sanchez would truly be great.

Mahrez has since 2015 more goals/ assists than hazard and coutinho. is 26 and knows the league not sure why people are not sure on him. less work rate than William but twice as much end product, we need that creative spark and goals from others. ozil . loves London ( apparently ) and 6months left on current deal., I’d go for him and pay the agents and wages to match. Sanchez. MUFC city and Liverpool rumoured to be in for him. goals assists and would press for conte from the front, we Could almost garuntee a starting spot either wide or striker or behind striker. then there’s other options, thuavin fekir baily Werner Savic, IMO these are second tier players because we no longer are linked to the isco’s dybala’s icardi’s, next season lfc are going to have Keita mane salah firmino VVD plus £140m to invest. I get we won the league last year but that was more conte and even he is leaving so imo we are falling away from the big boys, Roman stephs back with money and marina is running a tighter ship. top 4 is a must. Also either eds are holding back because of some people’s abuse which is a cring or we not really linked or making strides in who we want. quick one also. if city got Sanchez would Aguero be available?
