Well to be honest Kev. There are better players out there. Walcott is not that bad a player but yeah we can do better. I do like the link with Isco tho. He isn't an out and out striker he is definitely one fella I would to be in our excellent looking squad.

Wernt keen on Idea of Walcott joing us but if he comes and plays as as secondary striker that would be really good, as he is a better triker gen winger

Torres scoring goals is good sign for us. Hopefully it will raise interest and we can finally let him go. He is costing us almost 20 million a season in 5 annual 10 million installments we are paying to Liverpool in transfer fees and almost the same amount in wages. That is nearly a tenth of our annual budget. Whilst the return is just shameful.
Just because he scored a few times, does not mean he justifies his value. He was brought in to score goals. Shipping him out to be replaced by a top striker should be the first job on the agenda. Also we need another striker for rotation and a recall of Lukaku possibly.
My personal preference and favorite for the job is Cavani. Next obvious is Falcao. I see noone near their quality of possible targets in world football at the moment. (I mean we won't buy Ronaldo or Messi, or Aguero or RVP).
But if neither is to be brought in, that becomes a tricky situation. Jackson Martinez and Higuain are good options. but then it comes to the transfer fees and wages, or packages as Ed002 puts it, with agents fees and else involved.
Again, how would a competition for starting role work with the fragile confidence of Torres is beyond my guess. Having said that, i believe we should sell Torres at the next convenient chance and bring at least two forwards to the lineup.

It's fair to say I'm still not happy about the Rafa appointment, but I am we'll past the booing at games. Although I would rather someone else came in during the summer, I have to say he's doing a good job.
I questioned some early decisions - mainly dropping Mata to play Bertrand in midfield and dropping Cahill from the team. But the two players who were dropped, or as I've come to realise we're rested, have been excellent since he brought them back into the team.
David Luiz is easily playing his most consistent, if not best, football at the club. More disciplined in defence and having a good game and a half in midfield - personally I still see him as a centre back but now we know he can fill into the midfield with ease; which at the moment, given the lack of natural depth, is a bonus.
Hazard has gone back to the player we saw during the first couple of games, more direct, committing defenders with his pace and skill which has created opportunities for the team. In fact the whole team appears to be more direct with both Mata and Oscar adapt at controlling the pace of the game as they see fit.
Torres looks good, still not the Torres of old, but the signs are good. Yesterday's goal wasn't his best, and was probably an own goal. It was however the best example of his improvement - a couple of weeks ago he would have been unwilling to take the shot on and tried to turn the defenders a couple of times before ultimately being tackled. Yesterday he took the shoot on immediately - a sign of returning confidence.
Tougher games are to come but I'm actually looking forward to the coming months.

Heavily linked with Walcott in this mornings news. Benitez reckons his lightening pace is a perfect foil for Torres. Also Chelsea are ready to break the bank for Falcao and will be ready to offer him 200k a week in wages.

Benitez only think about Torres tbh and not the team and that is a really big issue, that is ofc if they lisent to him regarding transfers.

All I wanted to see from Torres was a bit of intent - so many times before he has had a chance of a shot but hesitated. It was a big deflection, but he took the shot. Torres is all about confidence, it's all falling together. We do need a new striker or 2 (not to mention more depth in CM), and while it is early days, I don't think replacing Torres is the agenda anymore. After so many false starts he might actually be coming back. Whats more, he is a more complete player than he was at Liverpool (work rate, assists, link up play etc). I don't want to jump too far ahead of myself but, with new found confidence, could he actually turn out to be better than he once was??

See i agree with what pat nevin said, through torres games the fewer touches he takes the better he is! in di matteos team RDM has been tactically wrong.

He is playing like a sh*t player with some of the world best supporters behind him on a top players salary, ofc you should expect alot more he is only able to score against extreamly poor defenders so far this season.
