This Dutch 3-5-2 looks impressive to Spanish 4-2-3-1.

I just think barca I mean Spain just hold onto the ball and do nothing just like bayern Munich in this years champs league. They hold on to it for so long every holland player got behind the ball. It's silly. Any one else notice when our azpilicueta was free on the right with acres of space xavi and iniesta just kep turning their backs on him and pass inside? Same with Ramos and piqué?

I did Blueboy, felt sorry for Dave. I think its about time spain changed their style of play as good as iniesta and xavi are or should I say use to be, every decent manager out there can work rings around them now, And Chn it has nothing to do with the formation as to the style of play. For example Brazil and Croatia used the 4-2-3-1 diffrently and to some effect. Just think the spanish side are a bit too slow and predictable.

Maybe it's time Del Bosque started to trust some players who aren't playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona. Bringing in Javi Martinez and Koke would add a lot of energy and bite to that midfield while not sacrificing a lot of technical ability. As far as I've heard, Koke also had very good link up play with Costa.

Guys, D.Villa still plays football.

They put 5 guys behind a striker and the give all want to play the same role. They need to stick to drop one of busquets, xavi, and Alonso and put a winger on and tell david silva he's not a #10. It's very easy to pack the box against them as seen last night.

Torres just can't stop making a mess of himself.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are you one of people who were saying about year a go that Robben isn't good enough for Chelsea.
D.Costa was worst than Torres tonight but I can understand that since he was under unbelievable pressure. D.Costa welcome to Torres shoes.

13 Jun 2014 22:22:51
Very true. But to be fair Spain's centre backs fault for at minimum two of the goals, plus the bundle of the keeper. But what's more funny is that the Barcelona way and players failed miserably.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought Costa played ok, he was making good runs. Doesn't have the speed but when he gets used to playing wih hazard, oscar and cesc then the goals will come (hopefully).

Agree0 Disagree0

Blueboy you're right, Spanish defence was terrible. D.Costa and Torres will do fine, these guys are top players. How much they're going to score depends on midfield and wingers if they fail to provide quality pass and cross striker is helpless.
Chelsea fc in humble opinion will be top candidate to win PL and CL.

Most teams have learnt how to deal with Barcelona. Spain play exactly the same way and cannot defend to save their lives, this result was coming. Robben was simply unplayable tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Del bosque looked clueless! Almost as if he basically he gets the barca midfield and he knows they've been trained together so chucks it in the mix and knows what he's gunna get. If he's a tactical genius he will have to se it needs changing. Hopefully he doesn't though.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was his fault. He played 4-1-2-1-2 in last ten matches and than he decided to play 4-2-3-1 vs Holland. Spain can't effectively play this formation as well as 4-3-3. simply because they don't have typical wingers in their squad. All those fantastic players in midfield they have areDMs, CMs and AMs. Closest to winger is David Silva and he is natural AM.
One striker between 3 CDs doesn't have a chance they will always cover poor guy. But if you play two strikers it's much more problematic to handleaby three defenders than one. Simply when you choose a system it has to correspond with type of players that you have.
V.Gaal. played Robben as sec.striker last night and I must admit that was big sup.to me. The most important he was fantastic in that role.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spain were far to narrow. They played 5 centre mids. They need to get xavi out of the team for pedro, but of course he's undroppable.

I know he was a bit of a liability sometimes but if cesc shows half passion as David Luiz then he will be fine, going to miss Luiz. I loved the bloke but €50m is ridiculous announced of money,

Are chelsea one of the clubs interested in Dele Alli ed?

Ed002 are reports that Real Madrid may have offersd Khedira for Ramires true?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I certainly hope not. Ramires a far better, more dynamic player. Could just about stomach an exchange with Modric perhaps. But thought Khedira looked particularly poor in ECL final. RM would be getting by far the better of a Khedira exchange imho

13 Jun 2014 17:02:07
Tbh with Luiz gone we don't have another Defensive midfielder to rotate with Matic if he's tired or gets injured, Khedira isn't miles better than Ramires but he's a much better passer, wins more aerial battles and doesn't do stupid things like Ramires does like he did against Sunderland and against Bayern in the super cup so for me if there was a player exchange I'd be really happy with it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mikel but his likely to go, I'd personally keep Ramires. I get so frustrated with him and annoyed but I think he can do job for us.,

Agree0 Disagree0

Short term Tiago, long term Chalobah.
Chelsea will transfer to 4-3-3 or maybe to 4-4-2 according to strike force.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would NEVER take Khedira over Ramires!

If they don't play like Barcelona, slow and tedious passing football, then yes I'd be excited :)

Hi ed what clubs are interested in mikel? I believe inter have been mentioned previously but there were recently rumours about Valencia?
are psg still interested in oscar? I guess that if they are successful in buying pogba the interest may fade?
You mentioned on another page that Chelsea were still interested in cavani but wages would be the main problem does this mean that psg might be slightly more open to letting him go?

Sorry about all the questions but really miss the detailed update lists you provided. Thanks for all of your input as always.

Ed, is it fair to say Chelsea will be making no further moves to sign a central midfield player unless a current player departs now?

I don't know exactly what d situation wit Oscar's future wit us but we shall regret selling him if he goes dis summer. We have often been critisized 4 not being able 2 develop players rather we alwayz buy dem. Pls I would personally want 2 us 2 prove our critics wrong wit dis crop of young players in our team now. Keep and believe in dem and our near future is secured.
