I will guarantee you that if chelsea sign falcao, we will win the premier league judging him by goal stats. 13 in 10 wow !!

Believable2 Unbelievable3

The prem is totally different to La liga or any other league. I dont think even Falcao would have a record like that in this league.
he still need service and we have not been giving our strikers decent service for some time now

Agree2 Disagree3

I dont know what u mean by service we have one of d best midfield in the league and you are talking of service

Agree2 Disagree1

How many through balls have they played for Torres to run onto? And when was the last time we scored a tap in? All our goals recently have been headers by defenders from corners, or wonder goals. I'm not saying our trio are rubbish or anything like that, but we don't provide much service for Torres. Loads of fans say that Torres isn't ever in the box and always comes into midfield to get the ball and then goes on runs, and they moan when 60/70 mins in he looks frustrated but surely there must be a reason for it other than a lack of confidence. It's simply because he doesn't get many defense splitting passes to run onto. We're so slow to switch from defense to attack that we allow the opposition to get back and defend, making our work alot harder to break them down. When we eventually get the ball to him he's surrounded by 3/4 players and loses it. We have a great team and some excellent players but the system is new and needs some tweaking. RDM will need to start rotating players if we are to compete on all fronts as at the moment our trio and even Torres are getting tired. There was a comparison on the average time spent on the pitch and compared to ManU and ManCity our players have spent about 4 hours more than them. Which just goes to show how much we need to start rotating the team in order to keep players fresh.

Hunter

Agree5 Disagree0

I agree that we need to rotate players. But I don't agree about the creating chances. There are enough crosses from full backs, crosses from set pieces, possession in and around the box, counter attacks, shots on target etc, for a good confident world class striker to be hitting a goal a game like RVP. I refuse to blame our style of play again for Nando not scoring goals. We can't just keep trying different styles of play until we find one where Nando is scoring regularly, that's ridiculous. We need a world class finisher who will score goals no matter how we play. I would put my house on it that there isn't one striker out there that would not love to be playing in front of Oscar, Hazard and Mata.

OsgoodIsKing

Agree2 Disagree2

I'm not saying that we should change our style of play to suit Torres or that there aren't dozens of strikers drooling over the prospect of playing with our trio. You talk about crosses from fullbacks and from set pieces, neither Torres nor one of our trio are likely to get on the end of so are mostly wasted balls unless defenders have come up. Yes we do have good possession in and around the box but Torres hardly gets the ball and we can't always blame it on him. Torres has been quite a bit unlucky recently and has had many good shots blocked or saved. But this wasn't supposed to be an argument about the merits of Torres. I stand by my point. When was the last time we scored a tap in or have a player run onto a through ball and score?

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree that its hard to remember the last time we walked a ball into the net without a cross or set piece playing a large part. But I think we have had ample opportunity, just poor finishing from our front 4. Its the job of our trio to create these chances and score a few, and then its the job of Nando to be scoring a lot whilst having a few assists, I don't see him doing this, he's trying to play the same as the trio, by assisting but rarely scoring. That isn't what we need. If we had RVP or an out and out goalscorer and we carried on playing like we have been, then I think we would be top and flying. Basically I'm trying to say that our overall play to create chances is good, its getting into the positions to finish them that we're struggling with, and for me that's Nandos roll.

OsgoodIsKing

Agree0 Disagree0

We have enough service I think but Torres doesn't get into the right places for a tap in let's be honest.

A11

Agree1 Disagree0

I concede the point. Whilst I still don't think Torres is entirely to blame, I do agree that he sometimes drifts out of the positions we need him in. Personally I believe its down to lack of service. If he's not getting the ball where he wants it, he's going to go looking for it. But I suppose if he were to stay in the box the entire time then perhaps he would get more tap ins. Regardless I will continue to support him until such time as he is sold, which won't be until the summer at the least.
Hunter

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder how much we'd get for him? Realistically £15mil max? I don't think Roman would take that so I could only see a swap with Falcao in the summer possibly?

OsgoodIsKing

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be a fair amount for him on his form at the moment. It will all largely depend on how well he does for the rest of the season. Personally I believe he'll get around 15-20 goals this season so could see his stock rise a bit. However I'm not sure Athletico Madrid will want him. I believe they're looking at other targets to replace Falcao such as Llorente, Martinez and Oliveira. So depending on Torres' form and who we purchase, I could see him staying another year.
Hunter

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres is never in front of goal 80 percent of the time. And his movement ain't great for the trio to pass too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Drogba last season was alone as a striker, yet he still powered through and scored goals!

Why the hell did we loan Essien?? I watch almost Real Madrid game, omg he's a beast i dunno wat Mourinho did, but he is playing extremely well, i know he didnt do well as a leftback agasint Dortmund but cmon...

anywaysss, omg we need essien he is the answer, we should recall him in january!!!

Believable7 Unbelievable0

He is much better than Mikel agree, pre season he looked better aswell. it's a mystery why we loaned him out and used Mikel instead, and he is playing very well atm at madrid.

Agree7 Disagree0

And especially against Liverpool it looked like Mikel was playing way too far up the pitch... Basically swapped roles with Ramires but Mikel is just too sloppy and clumsy in possession.

Agree5 Disagree0

Yh i agree with your comments, but if you watch madrid, essien also drives up the pitch a lot but is actually useful, and they're organized to defend without their cdm's

my point, cdm's do not just have to be defensive for exmaple paulinho from shaktar agasint us was attacking a lot, but also defending, as long as the whole team defends cdm's job will be easier and therfore they can add to our attack

Agree1 Disagree1

M8 its Fernandinho* thats from shaktar.
Paulinho is hopefully one we buy :b

Agree0 Disagree0

But between the two of them, Ramires is the one who has the pace to track back and make up for his mistakes. He should be the one pushing forward.

I have no idea how Mikel was once thought of as CAM or playmaker, or offensive player at all.

January Targets Needed

Falcao - Best striker in the world we need him desperately.

Fellaini - Playing great at Everton. Is he our answer to the defensive midfield role. Would link with Hazard well If not would like to see M'Vila or Vidal.

Schurrle - His versatility to play as an out an out striker or winger would be a great addition to our squad. Mainly a sub but would be a great replacement when Falcao needs a rest.

Out:

Hilario
Ferreira
Malouda
Marin - Apparently not happy
Sturridge
Torres

Think we'll finish 3rd this year could challenge for second we left it too late to sign a world class striker. Love what Di Matteo's done for us but feel it would be only Mourinho or Guardiola that could take us to the league.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Marin not happy, Fellani great defensive midfielder??
where do you get all this from, do you know Fellani has been playing behind the striker whole season and that Marin had an injury for quite a while and is just getting back to fitness on top of that we had some quite difficult matches lately.
Go back and support Chelsea in the Fifa13 world you live in and dont come out and comment in the real one, ty

Agree3 Disagree5

Fellaini is NOT a DM. Not a good one anyway. Marin will not be leaving. And I'll bet my house that Torres won't leaving in January. Sturridge hasn't got any suitors at the moment. Falcao is unlikely to join in January. And Leverkausen definitely doesn't want to sell Schurrle as was indicated in the summer, so they're even less likely to want to sell him in January.

i cant understand why marin isnt even on the bench,i think we have something like 17 gamesin the next 2 months.we have to rotate or the players will just burn out.i think we have given torres plenty of time,he tries very hard but its just not working .i think we will be busy again in jan transfer market,i think we need 2 strikers ,def mid .but i am very happy with the way things are going we mustnt forget this is a mainly new team so a top 4 will do this season and then kick on next season .please beat sh.ty and wipe that annoying grin of tevez face {Ed002's Note - He was on the bench and has been injured and only recently returned to training.}

I Think our problem at Chelsea is we don't have a plan B and I'm not sure if that's down to RDM or the system we play, I think we lacked penatration in and around the box, we look like the Arsenal that played good football and couldn't score, this needs to be sorted quickly and I don't think its a new striker that we need to solve our problem I think its a team effort and maybe we shouldn't be scared to change it at 60mins or play route 1 to get the game won and 3pts!

A point against Liverpool is not too bad, just try to see it as a slight improvement on the last few league meetings between the two clubs.
With Liverpools small squad we will be much more competitive when Lucas, Skrytel and Reina are back and we aquire a 30k plus striker in January to partner Suarez.
We wont pay 30k for one obviously, we'll pay a lot less but he'll end up worth 30k or more :):)
kidmillions ( Living the Dream!! on the Wirral Merseyside, voted amongst the 3 most healthiest and desirable places to live in the whole of England) {Ed002's Note - Where everything costs a thousand times less?}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

No, you'll pay £35m for one, loan him out and leave yourselves with only one senior striker.

the biggest problem with chelsea is that the ball doesnt stick up top! mata.oscar and hazard can be brushed off the ball easy and when u have ramires bombing forward aswell it leaves us easy to expose when other teams win the ball back! and ive never seen mikel make a full blown vain busting sprint towards his own goal in all the years he been at the club so it more or less leaves the back 4 easy to get at!

we need a midfield general along side ramires and more importantly we need a player of the likes of fellani who is strong and can hold up a ball and bring other players in to play but who do u drop for him.

i love RDM for what he has done for the club but it seems to me he has no plan b, he makes the same subs every game, he needs to mix it up cos we are gettin predictable.kevinCFC

Hello Ed & fellow readers.

Does anyone that know alot about Wallace share what his strenght, weakness, how he play and would he be better than Cesar etc. what is he kind of a player, i am really exicted to see him actually and he is very young aswell.

Thanks in advance for the answers :) {Ed002's Note - Try the search engine.}

Cech

Azpilicueta Ivanovic Cahill Bertrand

Ramires Oscar

Marin

Mata Hazard

Moses

We need to play like this, if the fullbacks dont attack as much , and oscar/ramires control the midfield then we have marin to link to attack ---> let mata and hazard do the magic and then moses upfront!

about the centerbacks - mabye luiz, only if plays as a centerback though, ivanovic will stay back and cahill for me is our best cb option

Thoughts?

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I would really love, love love love to play that formation its the best we can do with the players we have now i think. Thats if Marin played as he did in pre season.
Against teams such as Stoke, everton you might use Mikel or Romeu in the pivot for the physical power.

Sadly i just think this is never gonna happend.

Agree1 Disagree0

Do u not watch any games cos if u do ur see that we lack strengh and with that team it will get punished at least with mikel it adds that little bit of strengh

pinky

Agree2 Disagree1

Marin as a CM??

Agree1 Disagree1

Ivanovic does better at RB than at CB, or should I say Chelsea does better with him at CB.
