David Luiz on the Fifa Team of the Year, what the actual ****

Awful. as was the Iniesta selection. Team of the Year voted for by the players btw.

Mine would of been:
Neuer; Lahm, Ramos, Godin, Azpilicueta; Yaya Toure, Kroos, Di Maria; Ronaldo, Costa, Messi

Iniesta and Luiz on that team are frankly ridiculous inclusions. Thiago Silva also to some degree, he would've been nowhere near my team of the year. Even a guy like Benatia deserves it more than him IMO.

Was incredibly dumb.

You simply can't tell me that those three centre halfs deserve it over Diego Godin. Same thing with Leow over Diego Simeone. I wouldve gone:
Neuer; Ramos, Godin, Kompany, Lahm; Robben, Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Ronaldo; Messi, Costa
Agree0

I woulda gone this
Goal of year - Tim Cahill
Manager of the year - Simeone
Player of the year - Ronaldo
Team - Neuer, Alaba, Godin, Lahm, Juanfran, Yaya Toure, Toni Kross, Messi, Ronaldo, Costa.
Agree0

Aron I know your team is good and all, but you still have to pick 11 players and not just 10 haha ;-)

Goal of the year - the Irish girl (Im irish so biased I guess lol) but it was good.
Manager of the year - Simeone
Player - Ronaldo
Team - Neuer, Alaba, Godin, Ramos, Lahm, Koke, Kroos, Robben, Messi, Ronaldo, Costa
Part of me thinks Matic should be in there. But that's what I think

Haha I forgot Robben! And was torn between Jaunfran and Ramos

I was torn between kompany zabaleta and terry. And then matic could've been in there for schweinsteiger or Suarez.

Schneiderlin Motm again for Southampton last night. I've always said if we can't get Pogba we should try and get him even though we have no interest. Him and Matic would be like a brick wall in centre midfield in which i'd like to see Fabregas further forward as no.10.

And where we going to put oscar then?

LRDit - KingEden doesn't rate Oscar hence him using Fabregas in a more advanced role.

I just think oscars far too inconsistent to start. I great game in about ten which isn't good enough. I like him as a rotational squad player. Nothing against him I just think Fabregas is more creative and consistent. Then again most people want Pogba and I'm sure the same people would ask the same question!

Me too sometimes don't rate Oscar enough but I really believe that we should buy anyone who is a top class players and in my eyes sneiderlin (spelling) isn't one. Of course I would be happy if we bought him in plce of mikel (who is the worst player for me for last 3 years in our team). Anyway I really believe that our youth should be given some chance I would be really dissapointed if next seasons we do not integrate 1 or 2 players from our youth to the senior team.

Would love us to sign Micah Richards on a free - if Jose can get his head straight and Micah himself has grown-up a bit, he is top class - a rampaging English full-back who can also play centre-back. Thoughts?

I'm iffy. I along with many others feel we shouldn't buy unless they're world class (which he isn't). Also he would perform a similar role to ivanovic and we have kalas tipped to take over in that role as things stand.

Really rated this lad about 4 years ago. But his injuries ended his career as a top footballer I believe.

A move for Danny Ings, as suggested in the press over the weekend, would be interesting.
A home grown talent, England U21 striker who has definitely thrown his hat into the ring for a full call up; and looks comfortable hitting the back of the net in the Premier League. He's also free at the end of the season so there wouldn't be much of a financial risk either. Only concern would be if he would fit into our style of play.
Well worth a rolled the dice for me, it'd be a signing with a lot of potential upside.
Ed do you know anything of these rumours?

Well there was an evening with a bottle of rum that I don't intend repeating for a while! But seriously we've got out FFP sorted out but our home grown quota is concerning as are the depths of our striking department.
I've got a feeling neither Drogba or Remy will be in our squad next season. I have faith that Solanke will come through but not for a couple of years yet. I think Ings would be a decent signing for the squad.

Agreed we need an English 3rd choice striker, and a second or third choice English keeper.

Agree with Aron. With as much as we play our 2 reserve keepers and 3rd striker they really should be homegrown to help with quota. Replacing cech in the summer will be interesting.

GK: Butland and Blackman. I'd give Solanke 3rd choice the lad scores for fun.

Everyone talking about getting rid of willian and bringing in a decent winger I agree but if we can't get rues who would be number 1 choice and if all this messi talk came true tgen ofcourse take him but why hasn't anyone mentioned alexis sanchez? Arsenal always sell their best players to title rivals haha. New to this site by the way

Hi - Sanchez and Hazard together would be out of this World - I don't know why we didn't get him in the summer - a perfect Jose player, a skilful player who works back. Unfortunately, the Arse ain't going to sell. Personally, I would test Arse with a bid for Oxlade-Chamberlin (not sure about Reus - looks a bit lightweight for the PL to me).

Agree Mrs Costa, the Ox is a terrific player. Very versatile as well. Don't think Arsenal could be tempted to sell though. And I don't know whether the player would be willing to join us.

There's not too many players in the world who are a clear upgrade on Willian and schurrle. Off the top of my head the list of improvements of people that play on the right includes robben, bale, reus, sanchez, and di maria. From there you have some guys who are in their range such as cuadrado, pedro, and Lucas from PSG. Then you have to look at that list and ask how many are doable.

Cuadrado for me, I like Reus but he's injury prone, i'd like chamberlain or Sanchez but I doubt that would happen. Any interest in Cuadrado now Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware - his situation remains the same.}
Hey mate, I've always said we should have got Sanchez. We missed a trick there.

We definetly did miss a trick mate he's carrying arsenal on his own but he could get fed up not winning anything with arsenal then I dint thinkbwe could miss him a 2nd time

Our home form is 10 wins, 0 draws, 0 losses. Inpenetrable.
We have scored 24 goals, and conceded only 3.
Away from home however, we have a very very poor record.
We have 5 wins, 4 draws, and 2 losses.
We have scored 22 goals, but have conceded 16. I know 5 were against Spurs, and 3 against Everton, but that is poor.
If we can pick up our away form, and keep up our extraordinary home form, then we will comfortably win the league.
Believable0

Aron, whilst I agree our away record could be improved, describing it as very, very poor is a bit much IMO.

12 Jan 2015 08:37:53
To describe our away form as very, very poor is a bit over the top to say the least. This is the Premier League, full of teams who, on their day, can cause problems for the top sides. We have played Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, Southampton, Palace, Stoke, Sunderland, Newcastle and Burnley away and picked up 19 points from 33. Apart from our performance's away at Spurs and Sunderland we actually controlled all of those games as well!

Get in Southampton! If they get 3rd and arsenal 4th I'm going to be way to happy lol.
Everyone bar chelsea and city have been terrible. United have the same amount of points this year and they did last year at the same stage, the other teams have got worse.

Would much more prefer west ham, swansea or everton (even tottenham) over arsenal.in top 4. But anyway if Manchester United and liverpool both didn't get in top.4 this year I am.happy for any team who would take.their places
