There's a rumour going around that Chelsea are considering Diego Simeone as a replacement for Mourinho, in case the results doesn't start improving. What do you other guys think of him as our manager?

Same style as mourinho, hard work , 9 men behind the ball,counter attacking , defend first , loves clean sheets , work ethic, desire , track back , a little boring .
We have fabreagas , hazard , oscar , Pedro and others , this style doesn't suit our players take fabreagas for example technically he's 1 of the best possession based cms in the world , imagine him playing for arsenal again or city ,now ask him to track back , win headers against 6ft 4 defensive mids and he can't!,ask him to follow runners back and make luging last gasp tackles , win 50/50s , that's not him , same as hazard he's 1 of the best attackers in the world but our style don't suit him or Oscar or Pedro . In my opinion why our season is crap ATM is we don't have a style or pattern or identity , take bayern or barca they play possession football that's there identity , take Real Madrid fast attacking wave after wave of attack , man city similar style fast front foot attacking , arsenal possession ,we don't know how to play , we are so unbalanced in the sense we have a rigid defence , old English centre back types who love tackles and 50/50s and headers , with a centre back playing right back as we all know , so our defence don t start many attacks, as all the best teams defence do , then we have a midfield crying out for possession football , neat sharp passing style , then our striker is an old English fc throw back who thrives on bullying and balls lumped up to him , I'm basically dying all the best teams have identity and balance there defence start attacks , ours lump it up the pitch or out for a throwing , if where going to play possession it starts with our keeper all the way up the pitch if we play defensive boring football sell fab, hazard , oscar and Pedro , and buy tiote , cattermol , wanyama , round holes square pegs come to mind , lol just fed up

First of all, I fully support Mourinho and I hope the club will keep standing by him during this tough period.
If they do decide to sack him, then I don't see why they'd go for Simeone. In a lot of ways he's a bit similar to Mourinho so might as well stick with Mourinho then.

We won the league and everything was rosy with the same players only a few short months ago . Now the worlds ending after a few bad games!

Funny isn't jcfc

Last year I bet Cota was on here praising mourinhos tactics , and to call Diego Costa a striker who just needs the ball lumped forward to him is a joke.

Firstly, I don't see our club sacking JM. However if there were to be a change I only see one candidate that could be mentioned in the same breath as Jose. There was two(Klopp is now out of the equation). The other is Pep. Carlo would not be considered, nor would I think he would consider us after his being unceremoniously sacked last time after delivering "the double". Which only leaves Pep as an equal or (if you like)upgrade. Hence , I feel the club has backed itself into a corner re a change.
Jose is struggling to adapt at the moment as he is entering "uncharted waters" himself, but, he has expressed a desire to be at "his home" which is new to him and will require time.
Nobody(fan or hater)doubts JM's ability, so let's be patient for a bit and see how he adapts and changes with a view to longevity in the position.
He's been"the special one", then the "happy one", as of now I think he is the "only one".
Pep, for me is the only person that could take over if needed, but I just don't see that ever happening.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp previously rejected Chelsea - he would not be an option.}

Good balanced comment Kiwi Pete, and Jackson and JCFC make good points as does Hazard54. and good to know that Klopp was not an option we passed on. This Villa game surely has to see JM making right selections and team playing and winning well though or mutterings will grow louder and louder. JM also needs to think Charm Offensive with press for a while given lingering effect of Eva Carneiro incident and one or two other less than impressive interviews of late.But am personally like most still backing him to turn things around.

Thanks Ed 002, was not aware of that.
Whilst I'm here, a couple of years ago there was a stated interest in Abumayang(spelling) which came to nothing, would there still be an interest if he was available in the future?
Thanks in advance.

Just wondering, Ed, is Heynckes still in the coaching business? Or did he retire after leaving Bayern?

{Ed002's Note - He retired.}
