Been very impressed by Kalas at only 20. Really hope we don't sign a centre back and give him more game time. Don't think we need a left back either promote van Aanholt with Cole as backup to help him.

Then we just need a top striker (probably costa) Lukaku back and a deep lying playmaker like Rakitic.

Talk of the dirtiest striker in La Liga aside. Does anyone else want to see Chelsea internally promote?

Bamford has looked very promising for Derby and he proved League One was massively below him at Milton Keynes

Piazon looks technically superb.

Hazard looks likely to be going to the World Cup.

Swift and Baker have been dominating at U21 level

Not forgetting Courtois who has already proven himself at the highest level, as well as against Chelsea themselves.

It's pointless throwing money at new players when Chelsea have so many promising young players coming through.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed018's Note - I certainly get what you are saying but they need a top forward and they have to buy to get that}

I would like to see Mourinho give the youngsters more of an opportunity. Arsenal always play a young side in the capital one cup and I would like to see us to do the same.
As for players like Bamford, they need a season on loan in the premier league before being considered for the first team. We definitely need to bring in a striker that can bully a defence physically, hold the ball up well and have an eye for goal. I would definitely give Lukaku a chance next season but for whatever reason it seems unlikely he will be here.
As for Kalas, I think he should definitely be involved in the first team next season. He can learn so much from playing alongside the likes of Ivanovic and Terry and the way Ivanovic was encouraging him throughout the game today can only help him grow more as a player.

3 good signings and the return of loan players and we will win the premiership .

Courtois

Azpilicueta. Terry. Cahill. Shaw

Matic. Khedira

Willian. Oscar. Hazard

Costa
Subs)
Cech
Luiz
Ivanovic
Lukaku
Salah
Shurrle
Van ginkle

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Shaw far to expensive, mareno ( spelling ) is most likely, khderia will be expensive too and is hardly a young man, if were going to pay that sort money Vidal or pogba, plus a few times this season when Oscar has dropped next to matic we've looked a lot better

Agree0 Disagree0

Khedira is too similar to matic won't add that much difference for me we need a deep lying playmaker like kroos modric koke rakitic

Agree0 Disagree0

Not to mention Khedira had a major cruciate injury. Players don't always come back to their best after such injuries. He's also more of a box-to-box/defensive midfielder, which we have in both Matic and Rami. Would prefer a DLP.

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys, you don't think Chelsea needs back up for Matic?

Agree0 Disagree0

Talk of Imbula has quietened down. Depending on who we bring in as a CM, I'd be tempted to promote someone from the youth team as back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd keep Luiz as back up. His versatility is to valuable to lose. Chalobah doesn't eeem to be getting better and I think Nathan Ake needs a year of solid first team football at someone like Leicester or burnley.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think now that Ake is considered HG, he'll be loaned out.

Torres will stay at Chelsea.

Rather see city celebrating than the scousers. We will be back better and stronger next season. I hope.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more. Glad this season is over, can't wait to see what Jose builds for next season. He now knows the players and he will know he wants to wear the blue shirt and hasn't got the heart of a lion. Time to enjoy the World Cup :) KTBFFH

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Man U and arsenal will be very strong next year, see what happens with city and Ffp but sure they will still challenge. If we sign the world class strikers and Jose gets the system right then we will take some beating. Man U won't have Europe to worry about so think they will be the team to beat. Liverpool, can't help thinking had there best chance this year. Can see them challenging in another two or three years, once BR has got used to playing champions league and premiership in same season. Think at the end of the transfer window Man U Chelsea and arsenal and maybe city (depending on Ffp) will have much much stronger squads. There again I didn't give the scousers any chance this year, so what do I know.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. I do not want us to loose our identity I just want to play more attacking and exciting football even if it means taking some defensive risks. We do not need many players. Four max (two strikers, 1 defender and 1 midifielder)

Agree0 Disagree0

If arsenal win fa cup don't utd get europa league? That will be kick in teeth, and I agree Liverpool had there chance, playing 2 games a week and expectation will be there downfall, matic all year will be bonus, pre season for Salah and good start to CFC career for shurrle Willian matic, now let's get our goal scorer

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly! Barring a miracle I think Pool will be back fighting for 6th/7th next year. They don't have the squad to play in multiple competitions and they don't really have the money to buy quality squad players. They only played 43 games this season! Maybe BR will do a Big Sam, and get them out of other competitions at the first possibility.

Also I believe we'll start taking more defensive risks next season, as hopefully, with 2 new world class strikers we can start outscoring our opponents ala SAS.

Agree0 Disagree0

Also Matt87, Hull will be in the Europa league no matter what the result in the final.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh right,, wanted UTD to suffer a bit longer lol

Agree0 Disagree0

So if we are here in 12 months having seen more of the same from a JM Chelsea side and he's picked his own strikers (or attacking defenders as the rest of the top teams would view them), would you guys be happy with that? I know, I know, Jose can do no wrong.

Next season is hard to call. We have a whole summer of signings to come so difficult to predict. That said, United you'd expect will do better but I still don't think they will make top 4 - just too much change required. Expect them to finish above Spurs but Martinez is doing good stuff with Everton so I expect them to battle out for 5th/6th. Top 4 the same but no idea what order other than Arsenal are unlikely to be top. I know Liverpool are being declared as one season wonders but they were playing great stuff at times the second half of the 12/13 season and I think they will get even better. I expect them to be competing in the fop 4 again and better progress in other comps. City have the best team and squad at the moment and play some great football. On city and ffp, fines seem an unlikely deterent when dealing with owners that have spent a billion already. I'm with Wenger on this. The FA should also do the same for the ELP, with points reductions for teams that overspend, not just for going into Administration.

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally think Liverpool will be a one season wonder. They only played 43 games this season. They won't be able to cope with the extra CL games, and a cup run would be suicidal. Their squad is pretty woeful, as indicated by the fact that BR barely rotated, and they don't have enough money to buy quality squad players. Having said that, I'll wait to see what the transfer window brings before declaring them out of the running.

Whoever take the shooting practice session for Chelsea must be the worst coach in the world. Why does it take us 30 attempts to score every week. Why we don't employ some X players for the summer to help us out I just don't know. We could choose from the likes of Hasselbank, Drogba, Zola, Dixon etc. Any other names you guys can think of?

11 May 2014 16:11:36
A bit disappointed the way the season has just died over the last 6 or 7 games, even now 2nd is a possibility but our inability to beat poor teams (currently losing 1-0 to Cardiff) is nothing short of woeful. I love Jose but the team needs a massive improvement in consistency next season.

Just a suggestion, would it be worthwhile to hae a 'Chelsea answered rumours' and then a 'Chelsea unanswered' so some of us don't have to dig through the crap to get too Ed002/ed018 replies? Would be helpful I think

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing is going to happen. Take the time to read the posts.}

Like you mate, I do get frustrated reading through posts that have already been answered by you but still are posted by some people, it was just a suggestion

Hi ed no there is an ex player trying to sort the lukaku situation out was wondering if its getting any better or nothing changed cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I think we are no at the point where the club needs to make a decision.}

Would you be willing to let us know what the decision is once they've decided? And another question, does the ex player still play for another club or has he retired from football?
Cheers Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - When I find out, yes. He is an ex-Chelsea player who still works for the club.}

11 May 2014 07:02:56
Hello Ed. Any interest in Dzeko of Man City? 1 year left on contract and a Jose 'type' of player.
I hope we play with 2 strikers next Season and a quartet of Dzeko, Lukaku (if this 'situation' can be resolved), Costa and a younger emerging talent would be fantastic with Hazard, Schurlle, Salah and Willian competing in the wide areas and Matic, Van Ginkle, Luiz, Rami and possibly a new signing competing for the two central positions. Bring back Courtois and a left back and we challenge in all competitions. Would mean losing Oscar though.

With Hamburg getting relegated yesterday hope we can strike a cheap deal for Calhanolgu! Ktbffh

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hamburg are still playing relegation playoffs against the third of league 2, either Paderborn or Fuerth, so they still have a chance to remain in the Bundesliga. Additionally, Bayern appear to be heavily interested in Calhanoglu, so unfortunately he is not going to be cheap either way, I guess.

Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't be cheap but I think he'd be worth it. Fantastic set piece delivery and looks quite a creative player. If he goes to Bayern, so be it. But we should try (as the club is apparently doing).

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we have to keep buying more 'creative players' when we already have the current bacth along with our youngsters such as pizaon and thorgan on top too. we should push them up instead of just buying and buying.

I know ed has said that the club has made moreno the first choice at left back but I'm still desperate for shaw. The fact that he's proven in the league is worth at least £5m to me and then you add on he's homegrown, 3 years younger, and built more for the pl than moreno (6" and 20lb) I can't help but think his price may be worth it. Money is incredibly relative but I look at it from a perspective of say his transfer fee is 25m and that's spread over 12 years (puts him at 30 yoa) and the fee is 2m per year. Ed has also mentioned that southampton have an interest in both Bertrand and Moses so this may be unfeasable but if we could include both in the deal and cut the price down to around £15m we could be looking at a situation that benefits both parties. This may seem unrealistic however I will say that if they continue to do buisness the way they do I hope we tell them to shove it if they come for any of our players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I honestly don't think we could sign Shaw for anything less than £15 mil, £5 mil is an underestimation

Oh sorry, I misunderstood what you wrote for a minute, just forget my above comment

Ed002 I would like to hear your opinion.
After today praise what do you think is Mourinho going to try to sign Edin Džeko?
Thanks in advance.

Ed002 is Dzeko a player chelsea are interested in?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Does Edin Dzeko have a brother?}

Hi ed, thought I'd ask different questions?, 1) how are you? 2) have you enjoyed this years bpl? 3) how and where are your travels? 2) do you prefer gammon with salad or quiche with salad? Thanks!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - (1) Generally fine, my potassium levels are apparently a little low. (2) I don't know what the BPL is? (3) I am at home today and will eb for a couple of days before aquick visit to the South of France later in the week. (2) I don't like gammon but am cool with quiche.}

10 May 2014 19:01:29
Ed what's the situation with Piazon at Vitesse? He started off really brightly but struggles to get in the team now. Is this due to poor form?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is the end of the season, there is no "situation".}
